Rebirth: Supreme Soul Master

Chapter 26 Leaving the Academy

“Thank you.” William would never be polite, especially when a weapon worth tens of thousands of crystals was being offered to him for free.

He turned to the wood and began scattering it around.

"What do you want to buy?" Alina walked up to him and asked with a curious look.

“I have arrowheads, but no shafts,” he said, picking up the light brown logs and setting them aside. “These will do.”

"Brown bark wood?! That's just ordinary, low-grade wood! If you'd like, I can get you better wood."

William was momentarily tempted, but then abandoned the idea. It wasn't a matter of quality; rather, he wanted something that would best achieve his goals.

Next time, he would rather agree. But he knew that if he did, it would take even longer to inspect the other types of timber Elena had provided. And he had already wasted a whole day preparing, and it wasn't finished yet.

Despite having gained a lot from this trip, he still felt some regret for having wasted so much time making these arrows.

“Thank you, these will do,” he said, gathering ten thick, short pieces of brown bark wood, and then began to cut them with his sword.

He worked diligently and precisely, cutting the wood into thin, cylindrical slices to serve as axles. In twenty minutes, he had everything ready.

To onlookers, Elena couldn't help but find his actions somewhat strange. You chop wood with an axe, not a sword! But she remained silent, simply watching quietly, keeping her thoughts to herself.

Under Elena's curious gaze, he took out a green jar. The originally shimmering green liquid seemed to have shrunk in size, and its glow had become even brighter. In her eyes, it looked like pure water, while the ordinary candle material looked like soil.

Without waiting, he poured the liquid onto the shafts he had prepared. They hissed loudly before the shafts absorbed all the sound. Not a single drop of water spilled onto the ground.

William wasn't just looking to control the arrows he made from a distance. Even if his control over arrows wasn't as perfect as his throwing knives, such a technique could still come in handy in a critical moment.

The light brown shafts changed color, turning a pale green. One pot wasn't enough; they brought out another before we'd even finished eating.

About a thousand shafts were ready. Then he let them cool down, took out the scarlet jars, and poured the remaining green liquid on them.

Each red jar was placed on top of a green jar. William then waited five minutes to allow the mixture to partially solidify before placing it on the anvil.

"Can I use your help again?" He wasn't ashamed to ask Alina for help when he saw how efficient she was at her work.

She started helping again. Over the next few hours, she finished the task. Each time she finished cleaning, William would come over and pour the final mixture onto the mold.

Twenty throwing knives were thus created. Before giving any mixture to Alina, he would drip some of his own blood onto them to establish a blood connection with the knives.

While she continued tapping, he busied himself assembling the arrows. He used drops of blood to connect the arrowheads to himself, ensuring a weak connection was established.

If he were to throw arrows like throwing knives, it would consume a lot of his soul power. But the way he did it allowed him to have some control over the arrows in mid-air.

This might reduce the amount of energy consumed and help him control the situation a little, allowing him to change direction slightly.

"Thank you." Having done all this, William felt that his trip to the forging department had been worthwhile. He didn't regret wasting so much time there.

He not only made what he wanted, but also got a good sword, even better than he had expected.

"Give my regards to your master." Alina stood at the entrance to the academy leading to the forest. She had insisted on accompanying him this far, and William wouldn't miss this opportunity.

After all, he was worried about Guan Ning and his group. What if they stopped him and then tried to cause trouble at the academy? Not to mention that if Berry's family discovered his little lie earlier, they would come after him.

“Of course,” William nodded, but his bright smile did not satisfy Elena.

“We’ll discuss it next time we meet,” Elena reminded him, emphasizing this point again. “I’ll handle the forging department matters for you and your master, as long as your master agrees.”

“She will,” William said firmly. After all, there was no master here; he was the one in charge.

If this deal goes well, William will solve a large part of his financial problems. He may not encounter any major obstacles at the moment. But once his soul power begins to increase, he will inevitably need a lot of resources.

Any resource in the spirit realm requires a large amount of spirit crystals.

Therefore, reaching this deal as soon as possible is good news for him. Although it's not enough, it will give him more time to find more sources of profit.

As he entered the forest, his attention was focused on two things. First, he needed to venture deeper into the forest, into unfamiliar territory. Second, he needed to resolve the issue of the Mud Spirit stage.

Despite possessing the divine devouring ability of a nine-tailed fox, it only serves to enhance his soul power and physical strength.

However, his mind is still immature. Trying to further enhance his soul power without a solid foundation is a common mistake he wouldn't make.

"To elevate my spirit, I need to carefully select the monster I want to fuse with," he muttered to himself as a flood of information rushed into his mind.

Having a mud spirit isn't a big deal. Most soul masters in the outside world come from the same background as him. The same is true here.

However, what has a significant impact on the outside world is the simple yet game-changing concept of spiritual purity. Anyone has the opportunity to elevate their martial soul from the Earth stage all the way to the top-grade martial soul level.

The mud aspect is perhaps the bottom line for any Soul Master. Some people, like Berry, may receive sufficient blessings and be born with a higher spiritual level. These people, in his world, are considered Soul Masters.

But William understood better. For any Soul Master, those with Soul Power below thirty could be considered to have zero Phase.
