The Prince's Beloved Little Wife
Chapter 114 Returning to the Grand Tutor's Residence (Part 2)
After the maids left, only Chen Mengyao and Ouyang Han remained in the room, and the atmosphere became exceptionally quiet and focused.
Chen Mengyao gently took Ouyang Han's hand and guided him to a carved chair at the table. Her eyes sparkled with excitement and anticipation, as if a grand plan was about to unfold. She slowly took out a roll of exquisite paper and a pen from her spatial storage.
She took a deep breath, as if trying to concentrate all her thoughts in this moment. Recalling the ideas and plans she had discussed with Ouyang Han in the carriage about opening a cinema and an entertainment card game, her heart was filled with passion and anticipation. She didn't want these precious ideas to fade with time, so she decided to write them down immediately.
Chen Mengyao's pen danced lightly on the paper, like a group of sprites leaping joyfully; her thoughts flowed like a gurgling spring, endlessly surging forth. She first sketched a grand blueprint for a cinema—a spacious, bright, and luxuriously decorated place, large enough to accommodate thousands of viewers immersed in the vibrant world of film. In her meticulous description, the cinema's layout leaped off the page: a spacious hall at the entrance, brightly lit and opulent; rows of seats, arranged in a staggered pattern, comfortable and spacious, allowing viewers to fully enjoy the film; advanced projection equipment ensuring the film's picture and sound quality reached their peak, making the audience feel as if they were actually there. Every detail had been carefully considered, revealing her dedication and craftsmanship. As for the cinema's ticket pricing and sales methods, she planned to discuss and decide on those after finding suitable partners.
After completing her description of the movie theater, she paused briefly, her thoughts drifting to another whimsical corner. After some thought, she decided to add another floor above the theater, creating a dedicated children's playground. This playground would be a dreamlike world filled with laughter, featuring a colorful ball pit where children could splash and play freely in a sea of soft balls; winding slides for a thrilling experience of childhood; a magical carousel carrying children to dance to melodious music, as if in a fairytale world; and of course, energetic trampolines for children to release their boundless energy and joy through jumping. All of this was designed to give children a childhood filled with laughter and happiness. As for the pricing, she planned to charge based on the number of children, with one adult allowed to accompany them for free.
Next, she turned her attention to her plan for recreational card and board games. She envisioned a card and board game room that combined leisure and entertainment, offering a variety of games for people to choose from. Whether it's the exciting and intense Mahjong and Dou Dizhu, or the relaxed and enjoyable chess, Go, Gomoku, checkers, and even classic games like Animal Chess and Ludo, you could find them all here. She also considered details such as the atmosphere of the card and board game room, the training of service personnel, and customer experience, striving to make this place an ideal place for people to relax and enjoy life. As for the pricing method, she planned to charge a fixed fee per hour, which would be both fair and reasonable.
After careful consideration, she decided to name this comprehensive entertainment venue "Entertainment City," and planned to discuss a specific name with her partners later. She also planned to purchase a large enough plot of land not too far from the city to build the entertainment city, intending to construct a three-story building: the first floor would be a chess and card room for leisure and entertainment; the second floor a cinema for moviegoers to enjoy; and the third floor a children's playground for children to have a joyful and happy childhood.
As Chen Mengyao's pen continued to expand on the paper, her plan gradually became clearer and more complete. She knew that implementing these plans would require a great deal of effort and hard work, but she was even more convinced that as long as she worked hand in hand with Ouyang Han, they would definitely be able to turn these wonderful ideas into reality. So, after she finished writing the preliminary plan, she showed it to Ouyang Han for a look. Ouyang Han thought it was very good after reading it and planned to discuss it with his father when he went to the villa in a couple of days, to apply for the purchase of a suitable piece of land to build this entertainment city.
By the time Chen Mengyao finally finished writing, half an hour had passed. She figured her father and the others had probably finished lunch, so she decided to take her carefully prepared plan out with her and show them her new idea. So, she took Ouyang Han's hand, and the two of them walked out of the room together.
Just as she expected, the Grand Tutor's family was sitting leisurely in the hall, sipping tea. Chen Mengyao first bowed respectfully to them, then handed them the business plan with great anticipation. After the Grand Tutor, his wife, and the other members of the family read it in turn, they were all amazed by their daughter/sister's quick wit. She had actually managed to turn an ordinary entertainment activity into a business opportunity; her innovative thinking was truly admirable.
However, while praising her, they couldn't help but worry about her health. After all, she already had quite a few businesses, and now she was opening another one. How could she manage? So, the Grand Tutor spoke with concern: "Yao'er, your idea is indeed good and very creative. But you already have so many businesses to manage. If you open this entertainment center, can you handle it? Please don't overwork yourself."
Hearing her godfather's caring words, Chen Mengyao felt a surge of warmth in her heart. She quickly reassured him, "Father and Mother, don't worry, I know what I'm doing. I won't manage this new business myself, but I'll find people to help me. I just need to contribute some ideas and skills. As for the staffing issues at the other restaurants, I've already asked the Prince to help me find people, so I definitely won't overwork myself."
Ouyang Han chimed in, "Father-in-law, don't worry. With me here, I will make sure Yao Yao isn't overworked. I'll find someone to help her with the work as soon as possible."
Hearing Ouyang Han's assurance, the Grand Tutor was finally relieved, and a relieved smile appeared on his face.
Next, Chen Mengyao brought up the matter of inviting them to visit Ouyang Han's villa the day after tomorrow. Everyone readily agreed. Then, she made another request, hoping that the Grand Tutor and the others could write several invitations to the eldest daughters of the Prime Minister's family, the Minister of Revenue's family, the Minister of Works' family, the Censor-in-Chief's family, and the daughters of General Tang and General Lin to visit the mansion the next day. The Grand Tutor readily agreed and immediately had his eldest son help write the invitations. After they were finished, he called several servants over and handed the invitations to them, solemnly instructing them to personally deliver them to the young ladies.
After receiving the invitations, the servants hurried off to their respective residences.
After finishing these important matters, Chen Mengyao told them about the good friends she had made at the Princess's residence that day. She said she wanted them to be her bridesmaids at her wedding, and even whispered to her mother that this was a test for the Prince. The Grand Tutor's wife listened, smiled, and tapped her nose affectionately, saying, "You, you're really mischievous. But don't go too far." Chen Mengyao quickly nodded and assured her, "Mother, don't worry, I know what I'm doing."
Then, she pulled her brothers aside for a private talk. She told them that she wanted to discuss with them later how to set up a test for the prince at the gate on their wedding day. Although her brothers looked reluctant, they nodded in agreement. In their hearts, their sister's words carried more weight than an imperial edict. Regardless of whether he was a prince or not, their sister was the most important person, and they couldn't let him marry her so easily.
Ouyang Han watched Chen Mengyao whispering among her brothers, knowing it was definitely related to him. Perhaps she was trying to test him again by having them pass through checkpoints on their wedding day. However, he let her be. He genuinely cared for her and wasn't afraid of her little challenges.
After whispering with her brothers, Chen Mengyao returned to her previous spot. At this time, the Grand Tutor invited Ouyang Han to stay for dinner before returning home. He then had a servant bring out a Go set, intending to play a few games with the Prince. Chen Mengyao, meanwhile, pulled the Grand Tutor's wife, her sisters-in-law, and her brothers towards the backyard.
Once inside the courtyard, Chen Mengyao explained her plan to test Ouyang Han. She said his brothers would test him at the gate first, and only after he passed them would he face the challenges posed by his sisters. Only if he passed all of them could he marry her. His two sisters-in-law agreed, and they all discussed how to test him. The air was filled with laughter and anticipation.
Time flew by amidst laughter and joy, and Chen Mengyao spent a wonderfully pleasant afternoon chatting with her family. Sunlight streamed through the window, adding warmth to this time of togetherness. Before long, the sun set, night fell, and dinnertime arrived.
The dinner was an exceptionally lavish affair, with the table laden with a variety of delicious dishes, their aromas irresistible and mouthwatering. To welcome Chen Mengyao back, the Grand Tutor's wife had specially instructed the kitchen to prepare a meticulously prepared meal, including a wide array of dishes and a specially prepared nourishing soup to help Chen Mengyao recover and replenish her nutrients. This profound kindness deeply moved Chen Mengyao, and her eyes welled up with tears.
Dinner went exceptionally well. The family sat together, chatting and laughing, in a harmonious and warm atmosphere. Everyone asked Chen Mengyao about interesting things that had happened recently, and she happily shared her recent experiences. Laughter filled the entire house.
However, beautiful moments are always fleeting. After dinner, Ouyang Han rose to bid farewell to the Grand Tutor and his family. Chen Mengyao reluctantly saw him to the door, her heart filled with reluctance and longing. Bathed in moonlight, she mustered her courage, tiptoed, and gently placed a kiss on Ouyang Han's lips. This kiss was as light as a dragonfly skimming the water, yet brimming with deep affection.
How could Ouyang Han easily let go of this rare moment of intimacy? He wrapped his arms around Chen Mengyao's waist, pulling her tightly into his embrace and deepening the kiss. Their lips and tongues intertwined, as if trying to infuse their love into this passionate kiss. After a long while, they reluctantly parted. Ouyang Han gazed at Chen Mengyao with deep affection, then boarded the carriage and slowly drove away. Watching his receding figure, Chen Mengyao's heart was filled with endless longing and anticipation. She eagerly awaited the arrival of their wedding day.
