The Prince's Beloved Little Wife

Chapter 113 Returning to the Grand Tutor's Residence (Part 1)

The next morning, before dawn, Ouyang Han woke up. He got out of bed quietly, afraid of making a sound that might wake Chen Mengyao, who was sleeping soundly beside him. Every movement was like slow motion; he carefully dressed, tidied the bedding, and even deliberately kept his breathing extremely soft.

After getting dressed, Ouyang Han tiptoed to the door, gently pushed it open, and slowly closed it again, making no sound whatsoever. Then, he went to the outer washroom, washed his face with water, combed his hair, and carefully completed this series of morning preparations.

Having done all this, Ouyang Han was about to leave, but stopped at the door and turned back to the maids waiting outside. He lowered his voice and solemnly instructed, "Please do not disturb the Princess's rest; let her sleep peacefully until she wakes up naturally. I will come back later to take her back to the Grand Tutor's residence." The maids nodded repeatedly in agreement, indicating they would obey his orders.

After giving his instructions, Ouyang Han felt relieved and walked away, his figure gradually disappearing into the morning mist outside the door.

True to his word, Ouyang Han, after the court session, pulled his brothers aside, his face beaming with sincere smiles. He relayed Chen Mengyao's wish in detail—she hoped to gather her entire family, including her father, mother, and empress, in the royal palace that would soon become her new home, to enjoy a rare moment of family bliss at the villa. She hoped to set aside some time before their wedding so everyone could relax, because once they were married, they would all be busy again, and such opportunities would be rare.

Crown Prince Wen, Prince Duan, Prince An, and their sons-in-law all fell into deep thought after hearing this. They knew that opportunities for their mothers to leave the palace were extremely rare, and this was indeed a precious chance. Therefore, after careful discussion, they all agreed that this idea was excellent. They also wanted to take this opportunity to allow their mothers to leave the palace and enjoy the scenery outside.

So they unanimously agreed to visit the villa the day after tomorrow. However, they knew that this matter still needed the Emperor's approval, as well as the consent of their respective mothers. Therefore, they went together to the Imperial Study and reiterated Chen Mengyao's intentions to Emperor Mingsheng. Emperor Mingsheng, after listening, also thought it was a very good idea and readily agreed.

Having obtained their father's consent, the princes split up to discuss the matter with their respective mothers, the empress and the emperor. Unsurprisingly, everyone agreed with the proposal. They all looked forward to this opportunity to enjoy the warmth and happiness of family life.

After receiving a positive answer, Ouyang Han was filled with joy. He couldn't wait to tell Chen Mengyao the good news. He bid farewell to the Crown Prince and the others and hurriedly returned to his residence. All the way, the image of Chen Mengyao's joyful and surprised expression upon hearing the news kept flashing through his mind.

Chen Mengyao was exhausted from a busy day yesterday, and having gone to bed too late last night, she slept straight until the end of the morning. Sunlight streamed through the window onto the bed, illuminating the entire room brightly and warmly.

Chen Mengyao finally woke up slowly from her sleep. She opened her eyes, feeling a little dizzy. After stretching, she slowly sat up and began to get dressed and wash up.

Just then, the maids who had been waiting outside heard the commotion coming from inside and quickly filed in. Some rushed forward to comb her flowing hair, while others deftly helped her change into a new and beautiful dress. In no time, a charming and lovely woman appeared before everyone's eyes.

At the same time, another maid brought over a sumptuous and delicious breakfast, carefully placed it on the table, and said softly, "Your Highness, please have your breakfast." These maids were all well-trained and performed their duties diligently, taking meticulous care of Chen Mengyao.

While Chen Mengyao was eating, one of the maids approached her and whispered what the prince had told them that morning: "The prince has ordered that you, Princess Consort, be escorted back to the Grand Tutor's residence." Hearing this, Chen Mengyao was slightly taken aback, but a barely perceptible smile quickly appeared on her face…

Just then, Ouyang Han, dressed in an elegant brocade robe, walked in with steady steps. Sunlight streamed through the window, bathing him in a warm glow. Seeing this, Chen Mengyao quickly put down her chopsticks, stood up, and said softly with a gentle smile, "Have you had breakfast? If not, would you like some more?"

Ouyang Han nodded slightly, his gaze lingering on Chen Mengyao's face for a moment, a hint of tenderness flashing in his eyes. He parted his thin lips and said slowly, "It's already late morning, almost noon. I've already had breakfast. However, if you wish, Yaoyao, to have breakfast with me, that's not impossible." With that, he smiled gently and gestured to the maids beside him to quickly bring him a bowl and chopsticks.

Upon hearing this, the maids immediately sprang into action, their movements practiced and swift. In no time, a brand-new set of bowls and chopsticks was placed before Ouyang Han. The two exchanged a smile, then picked up their chopsticks again and began to enjoy this rare moment of breakfast.

At the dining table, the atmosphere was peaceful and warm. Ouyang Han and Chen Mengyao exchanged a few words occasionally, their conversation filled with care and affection for each other. They savored the food on the table, enjoying this rare tranquility and harmony. At this moment, time seemed to stand still, leaving only the two of them to spend an unforgettable time together on this beautiful morning.

After a hearty breakfast, sunlight streamed through the window, adding a touch of warmth to the tranquil morning. Chen Mengyao leaned lazily against the soft couch, resting for a while before getting up to pack her things. She carefully placed a few changes of clothes, toiletries, and her usual skincare products into her bundle. Actually, there wasn't much to pack, as most of her necessities had already been cleverly stored in her personal carrying compartment, so she quickly finished.

Just before leaving, Chen Mengyao eagerly opened her family group chat on her phone and carefully crafted a message for Taifu and the other family members. In the message, she tenderly expressed her impatient desire to return to her warm home, and specifically mentioned her godparents, saying that she would soon be there for them. Her words revealed her deep longing for home and her joy at the impending reunion.

She called out softly a few times, and several clever maids responded. Each had their own task: some helped carry her bundle, while others busied themselves tidying her appearance. Once everything was ready, Chen Mengyao, accompanied by these attentive maids, followed Ouyang Han into his private carriage. The carriage was extremely luxuriously decorated, spacious and comfortable inside, with soft cushions and an exquisite tea table that made it feel incredibly pleasant.

Sitting in the carriage, Ouyang Han cheerfully told Chen Mengyao about the decisions of his father, mother, empress, and several brothers. They planned to visit the villa together the day after tomorrow and had specifically asked her to invite several close friends and their families to join them. Upon hearing this news, Chen Mengyao felt an indescribable joy welling up inside her. She couldn't help but give Ouyang Han a quick kiss on the cheek and laughed, "Yichen, you're so wonderful! Now I can finally relax and think of some fun games to play, or maybe even teach them how to play mahjong. My mahjong set from my spatial storage hasn't had a chance to be used yet!"

Speaking of mahjong, another idea flashed through Chen Mengyao's mind. She thought that she could open a mahjong and card entertainment shop on Xihua Street in the future, specializing in training people to teach people how to play these intellectually stimulating games. This would enrich their leisure time and prevent them from becoming addicted to gambling. She enthusiastically told Ouyang Han about this idea.

Ouyang Han looked at her helplessly, his eyes full of doting smiles. He said with a smile, "You, you, I really can't do anything with you! A perfectly good time for leisure and relaxation, and you've already thought of ways to make money again. But speaking of which, this idea is indeed not bad. If people have a place to relax and have fun, they shouldn't be so addicted to gambling, right? By the way, Yao Yao, do you have that movie projector in your space? Why don't you open another movie theater and provide people with another place for leisure and entertainment?"

Ever since Chen Mengyao taught him how to watch movies on the computer, Ouyang Han has developed a strong interest in film. He not only watched many military-themed science fiction films, but also rewatched these exciting movies on his phone every day. He felt that movies were an excellent way to relax, allowing his mind and body to get a full rest. That's why he made this suggestion.

Upon hearing Ouyang Han's words, Chen Mengyao's eyes lit up. She clapped her hands excitedly and said, "That's right! How could I forget that! Since I can use electricity in Beijing now, why not open a movie theater? We can open it together with a card room, connecting two large shops. A movie theater shop needs to be three stories high to be impressive! If we don't have enough space, we'll buy a plot of land and build one! Yichen, what do you think?"

Looking into her expectant eyes, Ouyang Han felt a surge of love. He affectionately patted her head and said, "Of course, no problem! We'll discuss this with Father and the others later, and we'll start preparations after our wedding!"

As the two talked, they became increasingly excited. Vivid images seemed to appear before their eyes: thriving movie theaters and card rooms, with everyone walking out beaming and enjoying the pleasures of these new forms of entertainment.

The two were so engrossed in their pleasant conversation that they didn't notice how quickly time flew by. Before they knew it, the carriage had come to a slow stop in front of the imposing gates of the Grand Tutor's residence. The Grand Tutor's family, having received a message from Chen Mengyao on her phone beforehand, had been waiting eagerly outside. When they saw the iconic carriage of the Prince Jing's residence come to a steady halt, they couldn't contain their excitement and rushed forward to welcome their daughter's return.

Ouyang Han gracefully alighted from the carriage first, then carefully extended his hand to help Chen Mengyao slowly descend. Chen Mengyao immediately saw her godparents standing at the door, a warm feeling welling up inside her. Like a joyful little butterfly, she lightly flew towards the Grand Tutor and his wife, affectionately calling out, "Father, Mother, I'm back! I missed you so much!"

Seeing this, her brothers standing to the side feigned jealousy, teasingly saying, "What's wrong, Yao'er? You only think about Father and Mother, don't you miss your brothers?" They then deliberately put on a sad expression. Chen Mengyao, seeing this, quickly and coquettishly explained, "How could I? Of course I miss my brothers too. Let's go inside first." With that, she affectionately took the arm of the Grand Tutor's wife, and together they entered the mansion.

Upon entering the mansion, the Grand Tutor's family intended to pay their respects to Ouyang Han according to custom, but he stopped them by raising his hand. Ouyang Han smiled and said sincerely, "Father-in-law, you don't need to be so formal. We are now family, why be so distant?"

Chen Mengyao sat with her mother and two sisters-in-law, laughing and chatting, their warm and genuine family affection evident. Meanwhile, on the other side, the Grand Tutor and her brothers were engaged in a deep conversation with Ouyang Han, discussing recent events and revealing their hopes and plans for the future. The entire scene was filled with a warm and harmonious atmosphere.

Time flew by, and before they knew it, it was lunchtime. The Grand Tutor extended a warm invitation, hoping they would stay and share the sumptuous meal. Chen Mengyao smiled and politely declined, saying, “I’m so sorry, I got up a little late today and ate a large meal before leaving. I plan to eat lunch later. Please enjoy your meal; don’t worry about me. I’d like to take Ouyang Han to my new room to rest. If I get hungry after we’ve finished talking, I’ll go eat.”

Seeing her resolute attitude, the Grand Tutor and the others did not press her further. They then moved to the dining hall and began to enjoy the carefully prepared lunch. Chen Mengyao, leading Ouyang Han, walked slowly towards her new room, several maids carrying bundles following closely behind, their steps light and graceful.

Upon arriving at the room, Chen Mengyao gently instructed the maids to put their belongings away properly. She then told them to go and have lunch, and not to wait there. "You all go and eat first. The Prince and I will sit here for a while," she said softly. The maids nodded obediently, quickly put their things away, and then left the room to eat.
