The Road to Godhood in Honor of Kings

Chapter 87, Part 2 of the Grand Finals: The A4 Lineup Takes the Field

"That guy is here again? Little Orange, do you know him before?" Xu Xiaomeng asked as she walked over.

"I don't know him... I guess he saw how good I was at it and wanted to befriend me?" Han Cheng said shamelessly.

"Yes, I believe it..." And Xu Xiaomeng actually believed it...

The afternoon's match is the final showdown against the Summer team.

"This afternoon's match is the final one, we absolutely cannot lose." Xu Xiaomeng encouraged everyone before the match. This time, Fatty wouldn't be playing; Qin Li, the substitute, would take his place. Ye Bing would be playing top lane, and Sun Hou would be the support, making it easier for Ye Bing to carry the game.

"What lineup should we use this game?" Sun Hou asked. Although he no longer plays top lane and is no longer the first pick, he still couldn't help but ask.

"How about we get a lineup with lots of crowd control? Last time we got outplayed by the enemy Luna because we didn't have any crowd control," Xu Xiaomeng suggested.

"Sure, but I'm worried they won't use a high-damage lineup," Han Cheng said. "But it's worth a try. What do you guys think?"

"Whatever," Ye Bing said.

"It's your decision," Qin Li said. These two really are alike...

"Alright, shall we go with the A4 lineup?" Han Cheng said.

"A4 lineup?" Everyone was taken aback.

The opposing team used the same lineup as last time. Miracle banned Zhuang Zhou, while Summer banned Guan Yu, switching the roles from last time. Last time, Miracle banned Guan Yu and Summer banned Zhuang Zhou, but this time it was the opposite.

Summer's lineup is the same as last time, except they replaced Irene with a support Niu Mo. They figured Miracle's intention was to draft a team with lots of crowd control, but they were a bit overconfident and only picked one tank. Top lane Sun Wukong, mid lane Diao Chan, jungle Luna, ADC Hou Yi, and support Niu Mo – this high-damage lineup might have been Miracle's nightmare last time, but this time Miracle desperately wants it. This lineup is just waiting to be wiped out!

Let's take a look at the Miracle team's lineup:

Top lane: Zhong Wuyan with Interference; Mid lane: Zhen Ji with Flash; Jungle: Jing Ke with Smite; Bottom lane: Wang Zhaojun with Flash; Support: Lian Po with Flash.

Below is an explanation of this lineup (although it's a lineup explanation from League of Legends, it applies here as well; only the concept of this lineup, which features many crowd control heroes, is copied, but the lineup itself is entirely original and not copied):

In wartime, there's a military term called "unlimited strike," which refers to targeting an area and launching attacks without regard to the number of targets. Simply put, it's the relentless bombardment of an area by various artillery and missiles until the objective is achieved, typically by flattening the area or annihilating all enemies. Similarly, this lineup embodies the "unlimited strike principle" of wartime: mindless bombardment and team-based attrition skills.

The name A4 comes from the pronunciation of "team wipe" in the game, referring to characters whose primary goal is to force a team wipe in team battles and who mostly possess powerful crowd control skills.

Since it's A4, then we need an ACE. The top laner Zhong Wuyan's powerful crowd control is undeniable, and with Interference, she can tower dive and secure kills. This lineup doesn't include a marksman because marksmen generally don't have much crowd control, let alone team-wide crowd control. Therefore, the bottom lane is replaced with Wang Zhaojun. With the ice and snow duo of Zhen Ji and Wang Zhaojun, once someone is controlled, it's a chain of crowd control. The damage of Wang Zhaojun and Zhen Ji's ultimates is self-evident; as long as they aren't interrupted, a team wipe is easily achievable. The addition of Lian Po further increases the lineup's team-wide crowd control. Lian Po is tanky and has... Two crowd control abilities, and crucially, the ability to become immune to crowd control while casting skills. In the current version, these abilities ignore all crowd control and reduce damage by 20%. Lian Po's ultimate can knock up five people. Even if he doesn't control too many people, this tank with mobility can still engage and control. With Flash, Lian Po can initiate team fights more effectively, since his ultimate has a two-hit delay before knocking up enemies on the third hit, and Flash is a powerful tool for initiating team fights. The final choice of Jing Ke is deliberate. Jing Ke has extremely strong finishing and chasing abilities, allowing her to finish off enemies directly after crowd control or chase down low-health survivors.

Overall, this lineup is very strong, but only in team fights. The way to deal with this lineup is to try to pick off isolated targets and prevent the main damage dealer from developing.

However, Han Cheng would not allow them to do so.

At level one, the Miracle Team immediately grouped up to take the blue buff and counter-jungle the red buff, engaging in direct combat whenever they encountered an enemy. Zhen Ji leveled up her first skill at level one, and Wang Zhaojun leveled up her second skill at level one. With Lian Po's knock-up and Zhong Wuyan's petrification control, once the enemy was controlled by this duo, Zhen Ji and Wang Zhaojun's control would follow up, and the enemy would be doomed. This is what makes this lineup so terrifying; once controlled, death is certain. Therefore, apart from the jungler Luna and the support Niu Mo who brought Heal, the other three on the opposing team all had Purify. However, the cooldown of Purify is much longer than the control skills of these heroes, and as long as the control is not used all at once, it can continue to control. Finally, although this lineup has strong control, its output is also quite high. Even if a head-on team fight breaks out, Zhong Wuyan and Lian Po will not be instantly killed, and the output of the other three will not be low either. Even if the enemy's Purify is not on cooldown, they will not be too afraid.

The opposing Luna and Niu Mo were working together to take down the Blue Buff. At this time, two of the five members of the Miracle Team were already lying in ambush in the bushes, waiting for the Blue Buff to be low on health so they could steal it and then kill the enemy. After taking the Blue Buff, the Miracle Team headed straight for the enemy's Blue Buff area. Since Luna and Niu Mo had started with the Red Buff first, they wouldn't notice that Lian Po and Zhong Wuyan had already entered the bushes. Both of these heroes have mobility skills and strong crowd control. By using their mobility skills to enter the bushes, the enemy might not notice them. Moreover, if the enemy was caught in the trap, a combo of crowd control would allow the other three to quickly eliminate the two heroes.

"Ha!" Bull Demon swung his great axe and slashed at Blue Beast. Luna then hit Blue Beast with another basic attack, reducing him to half health. Han Cheng signaled that it was time to go in.

Lian Po used his first skill to dash forward and knock up two people. Zhong Wuyan rushed up and petrified Luna. An ice-sealing magic circle instantly appeared under Luna's feet, freezing her into an ice sculpture. Niu Mo noticed that there were too many people on the other side and quickly betrayed Luna. Luna was instantly killed with an angry look and fell down unwillingly, giving up the first blood.

Zhen Ji gave the blue buff to Wang Zhaojun, who was controlled by Qin Li. Zhong Wuyan was still playing Sun Wukong. The lineup was different this time, so she didn't exchange buffs with Ye Bing for the time being. Ye Bing was playing Lian Po.

"Damn it, so sneaky!" Luna was furious. It was just taking the blue buff, why did so many people have to gank him? So, he decided to crush the enemy team after reaching level four, but was that even possible?
