The Road to Godhood in Honor of Kings

Chapter 104 Happy New Year (Part 2) (The belated 4th update)

After the opening music ended, the hosts took to the stage one after another, said a few opening remarks, and wished everyone a "Happy New Year." Then, another program was about to begin.

The same band is still providing accompaniment for this show, but the lead singer has left and been replaced by someone else.

This time, the person sang "Glorious Years," and it seemed that many people in the audience liked Cantonese songs, as many of them hummed along softly.

Finally, the beautiful women that Sun Wukong and Fatty had been waiting for finally arrived, but they were performing a nonsensical "stool dance," jumping around a stool, which was quite boring.

However, the fat man and Sun Wukong were completely engrossed in watching.

Actually, the gala is nothing more than singing and dancing. Today, Fatty, Sun Hou, and Xu Xiaomeng also have a performance, but their performances are at the end. They are required to watch the first five performances and then go backstage to prepare.

Finally, the five performances ended. Xu Xiaomeng and Sun Hou Pangzi left their seats and went backstage to prepare.

"Keep it up!" Han Cheng said to Xu Xiaomeng before she left.

“Mm!” Xu Xiaomeng replied.

The eighth, ninth, and finally the tenth program was a skit performed by Fatty and Sun Wukong.

The purpose of a skit is simply to make the audience happy. However, the already chubby Sun Wukong and his companions changed into "suits," which made many people in the audience burst into laughter even before the performance. The so-called "suits" were long robes, but they looked like traitors or other villains, which made the audience laugh very happily.

"Let's begin!" Sun Wukong said to the fat man.

"Okay..." Even the thick-skinned fat guy blushed a little.

Although this skit is called a skit, it's basically a crosstalk performance. Including Fatty and Sun Hou, there are also a few classmates from Han Cheng's class playing minor roles, but they made the audience laugh non-stop, which means their performance was a great success.

Finally, it was Xu Xiaomeng's turn to sing. She sang "A Little Sweet," a song she felt was warm and romantic, but she thought it would be better sung as a duet. However, Han Cheng said he was tone-deaf and refused. But Xu Xiaomeng eventually persuaded him through persistent pleading. But why isn't Han Cheng going on stage now? Well, this is a little surprise, or rather, a side story; Han Cheng will be on stage in a bit.

I switched seats with a classmate in the front row, for now, until the song is finished.

Xu Xiaomeng didn't dress up much, yet she exuded a goddess aura. Han Cheng had prepared beforehand, wearing a suit, which was passable, considering he wasn't ugly.

"I'll pick an apple and wait for you to pass by the door, then I'll hand it to you to quench your thirst..." Xu Xiaomeng started singing. Han Cheng was extremely nervous. It was his first time singing, and he was doing it in front of so many people. It would be strange if he wasn't nervous.

"Take it easy!" Han Cheng comforted himself, only to find that Xu Xiaomeng had already reached the climax of the song, and it would soon be his turn.

"This wish will not change, love is a little sweet..." Xu Xiaomeng has finished singing the first climax, and it's Han Cheng's turn soon!

"Hmph..." Xu Xiaomeng deliberately cleared her throat, signaling that it was Han Cheng's turn to go on stage.

Xu Xiaomeng pretended to forget the lyrics, and Han Cheng came up to sing with her. Then the two of them finished singing the song together. Such a dramatic scene, well, perfect.

However, before Han Cheng even came up, Xu Xiaomeng couldn't resist starting to sing herself.

"We've already made plans to spend next weekend together, so your little mood doesn't bother me..." Han Cheng finally walked onto the stage, holding the microphone he had prepared beforehand. The audience cheered incessantly at the dramatic scene below.

"I don't know why, before my wounds have even healed, you just barged into my heart..." Xu Xiaomeng sang.

The two then sang a duet, reaching a climax and pushing the atmosphere to its peak. Xu Xiaomeng gazed at Han Cheng with affection, while Han Cheng, not daring to show any disgust or turn his head away, simply sang without doing anything else. Although it was Han Cheng's first time singing, he sang quite well. Moreover, Han Cheng seemed quite attractive; dressed in a suit and tie, with an extraordinary air, he looked quite presentable—no, quite impressive. Many girls below went crazy.

After finally finishing his song, Han Cheng stepped off the stage and found that his face was covered in cold sweat. Luckily, he hadn't gotten stage fright, or he would have embarrassed himself.

After switching places with that classmate, Han Cheng sat back down in his original seat with Xu Xiaomeng. Xu Xiaomeng looked at Han Cheng with a mischievous grin and said, "Little Orange sang pretty well just now. Look at the girls down there..."

"Damn, why do I smell vinegar again?" Han Cheng thought to himself, but still said aloud, "Hehe, it's not as good as your singing. Your voice is already beautiful, and your singing is even better!"

"When did you learn to flatter and fawn?" Xu Xiaomeng said, "But I love to hear it!"

Han Cheng was embarrassed. To be honest, Xu Xiaomeng's voice was indeed quite beautiful, and her singing was even better. She definitely looked like a goddess, and he guessed that many men had already fallen for her. But if they knew what Xu Xiaomeng was really like, hehe…

"What's wrong? Why aren't you talking to me?" Xu Xiaomeng glanced at Han Cheng, who was staring at the stage but was actually daydreaming.

"No..." Han Cheng said, "I was wondering what kind of activities Glory will have for New Year's Day..."

"You..." Xu Xiaomeng punched Han Cheng with her fist. Han Cheng didn't say anything, but said, "Alright, hurry up and look, there's another program by our homeroom teacher next."

"What? The homeroom teacher's performance?" Xu Xiaomeng immediately perked up and stopped saying anything, focusing intently on the stage.

"When is it, old teacher?" the fat man asked impatiently.

"What's wrong, getting anxious?" Xu Xiaomeng asked. "Hehe, Fatty, tell me honestly, do you like the homeroom teacher?" Xu Xiaomeng seemed to have noticed Fatty's unusual behavior.

"I'm anxious, but how could I ask for the same homework from my homeroom teacher? She's our teacher, I just want to please her so she'll give me less homework..." The fat boy had a lot of excuses, but Han Cheng and Xu Xiaomeng couldn't believe them at all, and Sun Hou looked completely unconvinced, "Tch!"

"cut!"

……

Fatty: ……(-.-;)

Finally, the homeroom teacher made her appearance.

"Damn, it's an English song," the fat guy said. "I can't understand it. Little Orange, translate it for me, and then I'll check what our homeroom teacher is singing."

"I haven't heard this song before, but I can try to translate it..." Han Cheng said, and began to listen to it seriously, writing down the lyrics so that he could look them up later and let the fat guy show off in front of the homeroom teacher.

"Alright, Fatty, I'll read you the lyrics later, you can look them up, and then you can show off in front of the homeroom teacher," Han Cheng said.

“Little Orange knows me well!” the fat man said.

"If living isn't about showing off, then it's meaningless," Han Cheng said calmly.

"If living isn't about showing off, then it's meaningless..." the fat man muttered to himself, "Hmm, okay..."

"Just showing off for the rise of China." Han Cheng thought to himself, "If that's a good saying, then this one is a profound truth."
