Chapter 55 Alpha, Allen, and Wang Xiaoyi's Job Change Journey (2)

At the same time, Alpha and Allen were also undergoing their class change quests. Alpha arrived at the training grounds behind the guild and received a quest from his rogue mentor. The mentor looked at Alpha and said in a low, serious voice, "Young rogue, our organization's influence in the shadows is being weakened by a mysterious force. It is said that deep within the Dark Swamp lies a cursed rogue's treasure, containing not only countless riches but also a divine artifact capable of enhancing a rogue's potential—the Shadow Erosion Blade. However, it is guarded by powerful dark creatures and intricate traps. You, Alpha, need to explore this treasure trove, find the Shadow Erosion Blade, and bring it back to the guild. This is not only a contribution to the guild but also an opportunity for you to advance to a higher level." Alpha accepted the quest without hesitation, his eyes filled with determination and excitement.

Alpha first organized his backpack and equipment, then bought a rough map of the Dark Swamp from a shop in the village. Having confirmed its approximate location, he rode his large flying bird and soon reached the edge of the swamp. A pungent odor permeated the air, and bubbles constantly rose from the swamp, emitting eerie sounds. He cautiously stepped into the swamp, using his agility to dodge the giant tentacle monsters hidden in the mud. These tentacle monsters were incredibly fast and powerful when they attacked, and Alpha could only rely on skillful movement and timely evasion to cope.

Deep within the swamp, he discovered an ancient ruin. The entrance was secured by a powerful magical rune lock, which Alpha needed to break to enter. He calmed himself and, drawing upon his knowledge of lockpicking and runes from his rogue skills, began analyzing the rune sequence one by one. After much effort, he finally cracked the lock, and the door slowly opened, releasing a powerful surge of dark energy.

Upon entering the ruins, Alpha found himself in a complex labyrinth. Eerie green flames flickered on the walls, and small, dark ghosts occasionally drifted by. He cautiously navigated the maze, relying on his intuition and memory to find the right path.

In the center of the maze, he found a huge treasure chamber. The chamber was filled with gold coins, jewels, and powerful magical items, but it was also riddled with traps. There were mechanisms that shot out poisoned arrows from all directions once triggered; and there was a floor covered in electricity, which could paralyze anyone who wasn't careful.

Alpha carefully avoided the traps and finally found the Shadowblade in a special treasure chest. The dagger emitted an eerie, cold light, and shadows seemed to flow across its blade.

However, just as he picked up the Shadowblade, the guardian monster of the treasure chamber—a gigantic dark golem—was activated. This dark golem was enormous, forged entirely from dark metal, and possessed astonishing strength. If Alpha were only level 20, it would have been quite difficult to deal with, but now that Alpha was level 30, dealing with a level 20 mini-boss was a piece of cake. However, Alpha was also known for his timidity; even knowing that his level was much higher than the boss, he was still nervous, treating this boss battle as a fierce one. He quickly adjusted his state, drew his dagger, and began a desperate fight with the dark golem.

In the battle against the Dark Puppet, Alpha could have easily defeated it by simply going head-to-head with the boss, but he cleverly utilized the environment of the ruins to evade the puppet's attacks while searching for its weakness. After a fierce battle, he finally discovered the energy core behind the puppet. He then unleashed the rogue's signature move—Backstab—plunging his Shadowblade deep into the core. With a dazzling light and a massive explosion, the Dark Puppet was utterly destroyed.

Alpha returned to the training grounds with the Shadow Blade. His thief mentor, seeing his successful return and the powerful aura emanating from him, nodded in satisfaction. He had prepared a small surprise for Alpha: four figures dressed in night clothes suddenly appeared from ahead, holding a banner that read, "Congratulations! Successful class change!" Alpha was startled by this little surprise. Whose shadow clones were those four thieves? They were the ninja class he had always dreamed of! Alpha quickly consulted his thief mentor about how to become a ninja. The thief mentor, usually a stern man, seeing his student's ambition, told him the conditions for becoming a ninja.

With great excitement, Alpha eagerly asked his thief mentor about the requirements for becoming a ninja.

The thief mentor's deep gaze revealed a hint of approval as he slowly said, "Alpha, your desire to become a ninja is not an easy thing; it requires meeting a series of strict conditions."

Alpha listened intently, afraid of missing a single word.

The instructor continued, "First, you must reach level 40. This is the basic requirement for becoming a ninja. Only with a sufficient level and corresponding strength can you withstand the high-intensity challenges brought by the ninja profession."

Alpha nodded solemnly in understanding, his mind already calculating how to level up faster.

"Secondly, you need to complete a series of specific tasks." The mentor's words carried a hint of mystery. "These tasks are not simple. They are not only a test of your strength, but also a test of your wisdom and perseverance."

Alpha's eyes lit up. He loved challenges and enjoyed constantly improving himself by completing tasks.

"Finally, you'll need to collect some special materials. These include a level 40 ninjutsu manual, a ninja badge, and a job change certificate." The instructor paused, then continued, "These materials aren't easy to obtain; you may need to spend a considerable amount of time and effort searching for them."

Alpha took a deep breath. He knew it was a challenging road, but he also believed he had the ability to overcome the difficulties.

He said firmly, "Master, I will definitely work hard to meet these requirements and become an excellent ninja."

The thief mentor nodded in satisfaction, his heart filled with anticipation as he looked into Alpha's determined eyes.

“Very good, Alpha,” the mentor said. “I believe you can become an excellent ninja. However, remember that changing jobs is just the beginning; the real challenges await you.”

Alpha bowed respectfully to express his gratitude. He knew he was one step closer to his dream, but he also understood that the road ahead was long and would require even more effort and hard work.

So, with new goals and motivation, Alpha prepared to embark on another adventure with Wang Xiaoyi and Allen.

Because of the presence of the paladin Eric in the village, Allen can apply to become a paladin. Allen goes to the paladin training ground where Eric is located.

Full of anticipation, Allen arrived at the village's paladin training ground. Paladin Eric stood there, his posture upright, exuding a solemn and dignified aura.

Allen walked up to Eric and said respectfully, "Lord Eric, I have admired you since I was a child and have always hoped to become a holy knight like you to protect my homeland. I would like to apply for the Holy Knight job change quest."

Eric's gaze fell on Allen, as if he could see into Allen's heart. "Young man, this second job change quest is quite difficult, but I see that your strength is already strong enough, so you should be able to handle it easily."

Allen nodded firmly, "Thank you, Lord Eric. Paladins are symbols of justice and honor, and I am willing to do everything in my power to achieve this goal."

Eric nodded slightly. "In that case, you should first go to the Anti-Magic Prison and find the Dark Magic Crystal sealed there. The Dark Magic Crystal is bound by powerful magic. You will need to break the complex seal while resisting the erosion of the surrounding dark aura to prevent being corrupted by the dark power of the crystal."

Allen clenched his fist. "I will do it, sir. Excuse me, sir, where is the anti-magic prison?"

Eric raised his hand and pointed northwest of the village. "Keep going along that mountain range. Deep in the valley of the mountain range lies the magic-suppressing prison. However, you will encounter many dangerous creatures on the way, so you need to proceed with caution."

"Yes, sir!" Allen bowed again and then ran towards the anti-magic prison.

Along the way, Allen encountered various formidable monsters, including the Shadow Panthers, skilled at ambushes, agile and incredibly fast; and the Rock Giants, possessing immense strength, whose single punch could shake the ground. But Allen, with his excellent combat skills and unwavering perseverance, defeated these enemies time and time again.

Finally, Allen spotted the magic-suppressing prison hidden in the valley. The prison exuded a sinister aura, its walls shrouded in dark magic. He took a deep breath and began searching for a way to break the seal on the dark magic crystal…

Allen cautiously stepped into the magic-suppressing prison. A dense aura of darkness rushed towards him, almost suffocating him. He endured the discomfort, focused his attention, and began to carefully explore this gloomy and terrifying place.

The prison was a labyrinthine maze. Allen slowly made his way along the dark, damp walls, constantly on guard against any potential dangers. Suddenly, a biting gust of wind swept from behind him. He whirled around and saw a ghostly figure hovering in mid-air, followed by a fierce attack.

Allen swiftly dodged to the side, simultaneously wielding his sword in a counterattack. After a fierce battle, he finally defeated the ghost.

Continuing onward, Allen finally found the place where the Dark Crystal was imprisoned. It was a massive magic circle, with the Dark Crystal placed in the center, surrounded by intricate runes. Allen began to study how to break the seal.

He carefully observed the arrangement of the runes and the shimmering magical energy, and with his limited understanding of magic, he gradually found the key to the seal. He began to try to infuse his own magic into it, resonating with the sealing magic.

However, the process was not smooth. The seal of the Dark Crystal was extremely powerful, and Allen failed several times. But he did not give up; instead, he constantly adjusted his strategy and tried again and again.

Time ticked by, and sweat beaded on Allen's forehead. Finally, after countless attempts, he successfully broke the seal.

The dark crystal emitted an eerie light, and Allen carefully put it into his pocket. He knew this was only the first step in his job change quest.

Returning to the Paladin Training Grounds with the Dark Crystal, Eric saw the crystal in Allen's hand and a hint of approval flashed in his eyes.

“Good job, young man, you have successfully completed the first task,” Eric said. “But the next task is even more challenging.”

Allen asked impatiently, "Sir, what other tasks are there?"

Eric pointed to a huge trial tower in the center of the training ground and said, "You need to climb to the tenth floor of this trial tower and defeat the guardian at the top. That's just a puppet to test your strength."

Allen looked up and saw the Trial Tower soaring into the clouds, exuding a mysterious aura. Without hesitation, he walked towards the Trial Tower, his heart filled with unwavering conviction.

Allen arrived at the Trial Tower, took a deep breath, and stepped inside.

The tower was dimly lit and filled with a suffocating atmosphere. Each floor presented a different challenge, and Allen faced them cautiously yet confidently, confident that he was now strong enough to meet them. On the first floor, a group of puppet warriors wielding swords charged at him. Allen did not dodge, but instead used the shield in his right hand to block the attacks, while simultaneously launching precise counterattacks, knocking down the puppet warriors one by one.

Upon reaching the second level, sharp spikes suddenly sprang up from the ground, and vines extending from the walls attempted to entangle him. With his agile movements, Allen weaved through the gaps in the spikes and vines' attacks, searching for an opportunity to strike.

As the levels increase, the challenge becomes more and more difficult. On the fifth level, Allen encounters a giant fire demon. Allen constantly searches for weaknesses in the fire demon's attacks, weaving through the gaps in the flames, getting closer and closer to the demon each time, and then delivering a fatal blow with all his might.

After continuous battles, Allen finally reached the tenth floor. The tenth floor was exceptionally spacious, and a huge black golem slowly emerged in the center.

"Trial participant, congratulations on reaching my level. Please accept my challenge!" With that, the massive yet agile pounced on Allen. Allen mustered all his strength, raised his sword, and engaged the puppet in a breathtaking life-or-death struggle. The puppet's attacks were swift and powerful, each strike carrying the force of destruction. Allen retreated and dodged continuously, searching for an opportunity to counterattack. In one fierce exchange, Allen seized the moment and unleashed his strongest skill. A dazzling light streaked through the darkness, striking the puppet directly. The puppet was severely injured and rendered immobile. Allen had successfully defeated the guardian. As he descended the trial tower, he was still quite energetic, jogging along and humming a tune, his eyes filled with excitement.

Eric smiled with satisfaction upon seeing Allen's successful return. "Good, young man," Eric said. "You have passed all the tests. Now, I will perform the job-changing ceremony for you."

In the center of the paladin training grounds, Eric began his magical ritual. Beams of light surrounded Aaron, his body radiating a holy glow. Finally, Aaron successfully became a true paladin. From that moment on, he would shoulder the mission of upholding justice and peace, using his power to defend the goodness of the world.

After completing their second job advancement, Alpha and Allen arrived at the guild full of joy, eager to share their happiness with Wang Xiaoyi. However, they searched everywhere in the guild but couldn't find Wang Xiaoyi anywhere.

"Strange, where did Brother Renn go?" Alpha asked, frowning.

Allen was also a little puzzled. "Did he go out on a mission?"

Alpha and Allen decided to go to Wang Xiaoyi's house to see if they could find him there.

When they arrived at Wang Xiaoyi's house, they found Raine's father reading the newspaper on the sofa in the living room. After inquiring about Wang Xiaoyi's whereabouts, Raine's father said that Wang Xiaoyi had a mission to complete and asked them to rest at home for a while. So the two of them took out their NDS in Wang Xiaoyi's room and started playing Pokémon Pearl.
