Genshin Impact: Rise of the Desert

Chapter 29 Reaching the World's Highest City

"Hey, what are you yelling for no reason?" Navia looked at Ivan in confusion. "What Erinas? Isn't your grandfather Ivan III?"

Navia stayed at Ivan's house for a few days, and Garga had told Navia about Ivan's family.

Ivan shared the same name as his grandfather, who was the third member of the Rurik family to be named Ivan, known as Ivan III. Ivan was the fourth, known as Ivan IV.

Ivan suddenly realized what was happening and turned to look around.

This was an extremely luxurious room, complete with a desk, a large bed, and bookshelves, as well as the plaster molding ceiling that Ivan hadn't seen in a long time, all of which indicated that Ivan was in an extremely developed country.

The tallest city in the world!

Fontaine!

Ivan threw back the covers and got out of bed, asking Navia, "Where are we...?"

Before he could finish speaking, Ivan went back into bed.

Because he found himself completely naked.

Navia blushed and turned her head away: "Oh...oh! We're in Fontainebleau..."

After Navia's explanation, Ivan roughly understood what had happened.

It must have been Erinus who used some unknown magic to teleport Ivan and the others to the sea area near Fontaine. Due to the special nature of the Fontaine waters, people can stay underwater without a diving suit—although there is still water pressure.

Ivan and his group were discovered and rescued by a group of enthusiastic diving enthusiasts. However, three Fontaines could not be saved due to the water pressure. Seven Fontaines and South Carolina's Cairan sank quickly due to their weight, and their internal organs were damaged by the water pressure.

He was unconscious for three days, while the others gradually woke up.

The doctor examined everyone, and found that three desert people and all the other Fontaine people had health problems. The wealthy Navia reimbursed everyone's nutritional therapy expenses.

Navia's father was detained on suspicion of drug trafficking and his trial was scheduled for three days later. Therefore, Navia paid for the "Water God Suite" at a hotel near the Opizley Opera House and picked up Ivan and the other desert people.

Then came the regency of Fontaine. Villette received Ivan's right-hand man, River, and Silhind shamelessly followed along.

He said everything would be decided after Ivan woke up. Sylhind, shameless and persistent, persuaded Navelette to send a diving team to retrieve the exoskeleton armor and rent a laboratory to modify it.

Record it in Ivan's account.

Navia came to Ivan's room to return the knife—she had taken Ivan's knife to play with the night before and had also taken it to the sword shop for maintenance.

Ivan was silent for a while, then said, "The problem is I don't have any coins... If all else fails, let Silhind sell hooks!"

Navia's blush had faded, and the aftereffects of seeing Ivan's enormous dragon had also subsided: "If you need anything, I can settle the payment for you."

Rich woman!

A genuine rich woman.

Ivan was overjoyed: "Thank you, Miss Navia. I will never forget your kindness! You are as kind-hearted as the flower spirits under Nabu Marikata's command."

If they weren't completely naked, Ivan would have loved to give Navia a backflip.

Navia put her hands on her hips: "Hey, don't you have any self-respect? I thought you'd save your partner some money."

"Huh? When did I become your partner?"

"We're exploring the secret realm together, so of course we're partners! Silhind told us that the battles were...so cool!"

"what?"

Seeing Navia's eyes sparkling as she looked at him, Ivan instinctively pulled the blanket tighter around himself: "Never mind that for now, get me some clothes."

Navia then remembered something, grabbed a set of pajamas from the cabinet next to her, and tossed it to Ivan: "When you come to Fontainebleau, how can you not follow local customs? Go take a shower first, and then I'll take you to buy clothes! I've bought the best clothes for all your people, so you can't be without them too."

After some investigation, it was found that the Fontaine people, including Navia, were fine, as the industrially woven fabrics they wore had extremely high toughness. However, the leather and inferior fabrics worn by the desert people were not so good; when the divers pulled them up, all of the desert people were covered in tattered rags.

"Beautiful! You fucking little auspicious grass king, Buyer, you idiot!"

Whenever Ivan encounters something unpleasant, his first instinct is to curse Little Lucky Grass King.

Although she knew the plot and that Nasita was only reluctant to leave because she lacked self-confidence and was imprisoned in the Church, she was also aware of the situation.

But Ivan just kept cursing.

Ivan didn't believe that a goddess couldn't escape from the Great Sage and seize power.

This way, at least the desert tribes will have a better life, and I might not have to wear my ancestral clothes anymore.

Don't talk about your hardships; who in the world doesn't have their own troubles?

During her few days in Moscow, Navia learned of the desert people's hatred for the grass god and the rainforest region, but she was still somewhat disgusted by the insults directed at the gods.

She said hesitantly, "Isn't it inappropriate to curse Him like that?"

Ivan said bitterly, "I wish she could hear me cursing her like that!"

Navia didn't pursue the matter further and said to Ivan, "Then I'll go outside and wait for you."

After Navia left, Ivan entered the bathroom and stared blankly at the enormous bathtub and exquisite showerhead.

"These... I haven't seen them in eighteen years..."

After washing away his fatigue and putting on slightly loose pajamas, Ivan pushed open the door.

Navia looked at Ivan in his pajamas and praised him, "Not bad, you look quite energetic. Come on, I'll buy you some clothes."

Before Ivan could react, Navia grabbed his wrist and ran away like the wind.

Even in slippers, Ivan was able to keep up with Navia's high boots.

When Ivan ran downstairs, he clearly saw several members of his tribe dressed in Fontaine clothing eating in the lobby.

The tribespeople were taken aback when they saw Ivan, and then wanted to go up to him to report the situation.

However, upon seeing Navia holding their hands, the few rough men who were not very bright before suddenly became smart, whistling and looking around but not at Ivan.

Ivan was speechless; these guys never seem to have a good point to say.

Navia pulled Ivan outside and they ran all the way to the location of the cruise ship.

Ivan was particularly curious about the architecture in Fontaine, but that was all; the architecture he had seen in his previous life was far superior.

Cruiser boats are generally piloted by Melousin, and this one is no exception.

After waiting on the boat for a while, people started boarding one after another.

Meiluxin glanced at her watch; it seemed the time had come. She said, "Passengers, please be seated and fasten your seatbelts. We're about to depart."

Then, Melousin raised her hand and placed it on the bridge to start the boat.

As the boat started moving, Ivan's chaotic mind finally calmed down. Looking at the scenery outside and the water in the cruising line, he relaxed completely.

But there are always some people who will ruin a perfectly good atmosphere.

"Heh heh, the unjust Carles is finally going to be judged, and those who sold out Les deserve to die!"
