Lianxue agreed and the three of them hurried away. About half an hour later, a loud snoring sound came from afar, like the snores of some animal resting.

With a gesture from the man, the woman silently walked forward.

Lianxue tried her best to remain quiet, moving forward little by little, hiding behind a tree for a moment, then moving forward and hiding again.

As the three of them slowly approached the source of the sound, they found a creature with a head like a deer, antlers like a cow, legs like an elephant, and a tail like a lion—let's call it the Four-Unlikes Beast for now.

Lianxue observed the enormous, four-legged beast, thinking silently to herself.

The man and woman watched quietly as they landed on a tree and peered at the mythical beast through the gaps in the branches.

The two whispered to each other for a while. Lianxue didn't come closer, and since she was under the tree and didn't go up, she didn't know what they were talking about. However, their expressions were strange, and they would glance at her from time to time while they were talking.

Lianxue wondered what these two were up to, but she pretended to be nonchalant and continued to watch the four-legged beast in the distance. The beast was lying on its side on a boulder, fast asleep. Its drooping head was on the edge of the rock, perhaps because the rock was stuck in its neck, making it breathe unsteadily and thus snoring.

Perhaps it was born to snore, which is why it did so. The two people on the tree quickly came down, glanced at the strange beast, and then their gazes fell on Lian Xue again.

The man spoke with a forced smile, "Lianxue, did you see this giant beast?" He bent down to ask Lianxue, appearing approachable.

Lianxue didn't think too much about it and replied, "Yes, I saw it."

The man said, "Do you know what kind of beast this is?"

Lian Xue blinked innocently, looking completely clueless, which was heart-melting. "That's a Qilin-like Snore Beast," the man said softly, pointing to the sleeping beast.

Lianxue's eyes widened even more. She hadn't expected that she had actually guessed the name of the giant beast. It really was called "Qi Bu Xiang" (四象), just missing the word "Hanhan" (嗅嗅). But adding those two words made it seem so fitting.

Lost in thought, Lian Xue completely forgot about the man and showed no intention of replying. The man grew impatient, and seeing her hesitation, said, "Isn't the name interesting? Quite fitting, isn't it? However, this 'four-legged beast' has a problem: it only lowers its guard when someone is a child. So, I think you probably understand what we mean, right…?"

Lian Xue was at a loss for words. To put it bluntly, these two wanted her to be the bait. But, but, could she not go? However, they didn't give her a chance to refuse.

The woman stood there without any gentleness and said, "Don't hesitate, it's nothing serious, and we won't let anything happen to you. You just need to add some ingredients to that strange-looking snoring beast, and then we'll do the rest. You can't possibly not handle such a small thing, can you? If you can't, then we won't ask you to use your elements."

Lianxue looked at the two of them, their words flowing smoothly and their offense and defense perfectly balanced, and had no choice but to agree, "Okay! I'll go." In this unfamiliar place, she had to be wary of everything, but she had just encountered these two. She didn't dare to wander around recklessly without figuring out the situation here first.

The man handed Lianxue a black paper package with a fluorescent glow on it; she didn't know what it was or what its purpose was. "Go on, good luck! If you succeed, I'll teach you when you come back."

The smile made people believe it. Lian Xue took the paper package, held it in her palm, and slowly approached the Qilin-like Snore Beast.

The strange beast seemed quite comfortable. It sniffed around with its nostrils, as if it had smelled something delicious, and its body relaxed even more, like a lump of mud spreading out.

The snoring was thunderous, and he seemed to be sleeping even more soundly.

Lianxue slowly approached without alerting it. The completely relaxed Qilin was unaware that danger was approaching.

Finally reaching the head of the Snore Beast, Lian Xue opened the paper package, scattered the powdered medicine, and let it enter the Snore Beast's nasal cavity with its breathing, absorbing it all the way to its blood, skin, and even internal organs.

Upon seeing this, the two men stopped hiding and quickly pounced, each unleashing their own weapons to attack.

Lian Xue retreated a distance, deciding it wasn't the right time to reveal too much of her strength. She decided to observe first. She saw that the Qilin was sleeping even more soundly, completely unaware that someone was attacking it. Even though it was currently completely defenseless, its skin was incredibly thick.

All that could be heard was the clanging sound of their weapons striking each other, the piercing sound of metal clashing echoing through the air.

It left only shallow marks, causing no harm to the four-legged snoring beast.

Lian Xue was dumbfounded. This was too thick-skinned. It was hard to hurt it even when it was still. How high would its attack power be if it woke up? Just thinking about it made her scared, and she trembled.

Neither of them paid attention to what Lian Xue was doing. Instead, they attacked with all their might. The mace, wreathed in firelight, flew left and right, up and down, while the ribbons, wrapped with spiritual energy, pierced, slashed, and thrust. After the woman finished her work, she stopped and said to the man, "It's no good. It seems we need to find someone to help us."

A kilometer away from the three, a man wearing a fox mask was walking slowly, searching for something. He didn't seem to be in a hurry, as if he had come here to relax.

The direction he headed was the area where Lianxue and the other two were.

The man in the fox mask had a bird perched on his shoulder. It was a very beautiful bird with blue, white and green feathers, a red beak, bright and lively eyes, and long tail feathers. It was clearly a clever and intelligent bird.

The bird's red beak opened and closed rhythmically, as if it were chirping or talking to its owner.

The bird's owner, with a smile playing on his lips beneath his mask, seemed to have something happy happen.

Meanwhile, Lianxue and the other two were still with the Qilin-like Snore-Snore Beast. The two started whispering to each other again. Lianxue didn't bother to listen. They were already being wary of her, so why bother asking for trouble?

This time, the man stood still and didn't say anything. He simply gestured for the woman to come over, pointing to the spot where Lianxue was.

The woman looked at the man and gave him a sly smile, then stopped smiling and turned to walk towards Lianxue.

Lian Xue frowned. Anyone with eyes could see that these two were after her again. But what did she have that they could use against her? Lian Xue was puzzled, but she didn't show it on her face. She looked at the newcomers with a calm gaze.
