Wine-scented Beauty

Chapter 59: Moved
When she arrived at the inn, no one stopped her, and she swaggered inside. She didn't know what was inside, and there were hardly any people outside.
After she went inside, a maid appeared out of nowhere and brought her hot tea, as well as some snacks, which she placed in front of her.
Ji Meiqing was somewhat flattered. She brought Xunhua out of the room, dressed in the formal attire of a princess. Ji Meiqing stared at her for a moment, lost in thought.
Xunhua glanced at them indifferently before asking, "Have they done anything to you?"
"Nothing else, Your Highness," she answered respectfully. Xunhua nodded, and a servant brought her a pot of tea to rinse her mouth. Ji Meiqing watched her finish the whole process before sitting down in a chair.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" She glanced at Ji Meiqing strangely, then continued with her own business. After eating a pastry, she slowly wiped her mouth and said, "I have already sent someone to arrest that Qiu woman. What do you think we should do with her?"
Ji Meiqing was stunned, seemingly unable to believe it. "You brought her here."
"We caught him." She looked nonchalant, not understanding why she was surprised. Catching one person was nothing difficult.
She clapped her hands, and the person was brought up. Ji Meiqing turned her head and saw Qiu Shi over there. She was disheveled, and there were injuries on her face. The look in her eyes when she looked at Ji Meiqing was no longer fierce as before, but rather a pitiful weakness.
"You tortured her." She didn't ask, she just stated it as a fact. She was certain that she had used torture on Qiu.
Xunhua remained nonchalant, showing no sign of doubt. "She harmed my people, so shouldn't I punish her with torture?"
"I..." She paused, unsure of what to say, whether to admit it or deny it.
Ji Meiqing didn't answer, but she already knew the answer in her heart. She looked at Qiu Shi, then slowly walked up to her, "You want revenge?"
Upon hearing this, Qiu glanced at her weakly, but said nothing. Ji Meiqing forcibly lifted her chin and said fiercely, "I won't pursue this with you for Brother Lu's sake. But what happens to the princess is none of my business."
Qiu glanced at Xun Hua behind her but said nothing. Ji Meiqing returned to her original seat. After finishing her breakfast, Xun Hua had someone take her to the yamen and then sent someone else to take her back.
Before leaving, Ji Meiqing hesitated for a moment before saying, "Please don't tell Brother Lu about this."
"Lu Yu doesn't know?" Xun Hua raised an eyebrow, pressing for more information. "Such a big thing happened, and Lu Yu still doesn't know. Could it be that you..."
"No," she denied immediately, looking extremely serious. Xunhua looked at her a couple more times before "believing" her.
"When it comes to arguments, it's usually the man who has to coax the other person out. Don't worry, I won't tell him."
"Thank you." She glanced at the carriages by the roadside, then got in. After seeing Ji Meiqing off, Xun Hua's face darkened.
"Someone come here!" she called out to the air, then ordered in a deep voice, "Lu Yu has left the Lu family, why didn't you inform him!"
"Young Master Lu has not left the city; he is currently studying medicine at the Defu Medical Clinic in the city."
Listening to her subordinates' report, she still frowned. "Then why didn't you report it?"
His subordinates remained silent. Xun Hua, quite annoyed, flicked his sleeves and said, "Go and receive your punishment yourselves."
"Yes."
Ji Meiqing sat in the carriage and quickly returned to the Lu family home. Everything was still the same as before. She quickly tidied up the house, as she was going to cook a good meal for him since he was coming back today.
She busied herself in the kitchen for a long time before managing to whip up a few dishes that were utterly unappetizing. She'd been distracted for a moment while cooking, and this is how it turned out.
She sat alone in a chair, lost in thought, until Lu Yu returned. He looked exhausted and, without even glancing at the food on the table, went straight back to his room.
Ji Meiqing quickly followed, pressing her ear against the door and asking, "Brother Lu, what's wrong?"
"It's nothing, I'm just a little tired. You eat first, I'll rest for a bit."
Ji Meiqing lowered her eyes and took a step back, but didn't know where to go next. Back at the table, she dejectedly dumped all the food on it.
She went back to her room to rest, but couldn't sleep all night and didn't know what was wrong with her.
The next morning, Ji Meiqing came out of her room. The sun was shining brightly, and as soon as she opened the door, a ray of sunlight bloomed before her.
She put on her clothes and then left, carrying a basket in her hand, intending to go into town to buy some things.
Ji Meiqing wanted to tell Lu Yu, but she didn't see him. She walked around the room, but there was no one there either.
I feel empty and a little lost.
After leaving the house, she went straight to the West Market to buy some groceries. There were quite a few people on the street. She ran into quite a few familiar faces along the way, but Ji Meiqing was a bit face-blind; after greeting one person, another would appear.
The shopping basket in her hand was just for show. After finally arriving at the West Market, Ji Meiqing picked out two vegetables and was about to leave.
Just as they stepped out of the market gate, they saw Lu Yu coming from the opposite direction, carrying a large bag of things and walking inside with a blank expression.
Ji Meiqing felt a little curious but didn't think much of it and followed him. Before they even arrived, the crowd thickened, and Ji Meiqing kept her eyes fixed on him. Then she followed him into a deep alley.
Not knowing what was inside, he walked directly into one of the courtyards, and Ji Meiqing also took the opportunity to find a good angle to observe.
A person seemed to emerge from the courtyard. At first, she couldn't see their face, but then it became crystal clear, and she almost screamed.
Fortunately, no one was around, and Lu Yu didn't notice her. Ji Meiqing followed again. The courtyard gate was closed, and she watched as the person clung to Lu Yu's arm, and Lu Yu didn't break free from her.
Seeing this scene, Ji Meiqing felt a sudden pang of sadness, and she didn't know why.
But she had no choice but to watch helplessly, and eventually, not wanting to watch any longer, she had to leave.
The two people in the room were unaware that Ji Meiqing had been there. Lu Yu frowned as he looked at Cuiwei in front of him and said unhappily, "You tricked me into coming here by claiming your father was seriously ill, just for this?"
"No, Brother Lu, I just haven't seen you in a long time. I miss you a little," Wang Cuiwei said slowly. "Besides, Brother Lu doesn't want Xiao Cui anymore."
"No..." he explained weakly, but Cuiwei ignored him and kept crying and making a fuss.
