Chapter 105: Persuasion

After the tea was served, Lu Yu took Ji Meiqing back to his room.

Lu Yu said apologetically, "I'm so sorry, all my relatives came over as soon as they heard I was getting married. Does your head still hurt? I made you some soup to help you sober up. Please sit for a while."

“Oh…” Ji Meiqing sat down and quietly watched him go out to bring the soup over.

After drinking the hangover soup, she felt a little better. Lu Yu smiled and said, "I'll go take care of some things outside first. You get some rest, and I'll call you for lunch."

“How could that be?” he said firmly. “She wouldn’t do that.”

"Just listen to your aunties' advice. It's best not to take this girl. She doesn't look like a proper young lady from a good family. Or I can introduce you to a few others."

Lu Yu smiled faintly, but his tone was inexplicably stubborn as he said, "I have already thought everything through before I married Ji Meiqing. I appreciate the kindness of all my aunts. However, if all of you can attend the wedding, that would be a pity."

Lu Yu is seriously poisoned, and they can't just let him give up like this. They wonder what kind of vixen that Ji Meiqing is; she's quite good at seducing people.

No one could eat lunch anymore. A large group of people left, and the Lu family became quiet again.

“I love you, that’s enough. I’m not marrying them.” He answered her seriously. “You’re marrying someone named Lu Yu, not Lu Yu’s relative.”

"I understand." She smiled, drank the tea in her cup, and then looked at the steaming pot, unable to resist asking, "What are you making?"

"I'll cook rice; it should be ready in a bit. You can go out and play for a while; the kitchen smells strong."

She laughed, her smile almost reaching her eyes. Then, carrying her teacup, she strolled out, feeling a sweet warmth in her heart, as if she had eaten candy.

When lunch was ready, he brought it out. The table was covered in steaming food and clean chopsticks. She looked at the bowls and chopsticks and ate with a smile.

Lu Yu walked over and saw her looking like a fool, so he couldn't help but say, "Let's eat first."

"Okay." She was quite obedient, picking up her chopsticks and starting to eat the rice in her bowl, while also putting a few pieces of vegetables on Lu Yu's plate.

Lunch was quite good, and after eating, she went for a nap. Lu Yu was still reading in the study; life was harmonious and peaceful.

She quickly and sternly rebuked, "Stop fooling around!"

"Mother, please let me see my sister. I haven't seen her for a long time." He tugged at Madam Ji's sleeve and pleaded.

Madam Ji pulled her sleeves aside and said expressionlessly, "No means no. Go to sleep. If you make such a request again, I'll confine you to your quarters."

Seeing his mother's stubborn expression, Ji Tianci's face turned cold, and he ran out with a pout. The room became completely quiet, and Madam Ji looked at the still unfinished flowers on the embroidery, her eyes gradually turning cold.

"Mrs. Xu, you keep a close eye on the second young master. If anything goes wrong, you know what to do." She said to the door, her tone so cold it sent chills down one's spine.

Ji Tianci ran back to his room to pack his things. His mother wouldn't let him go see his sister, so he secretly went by himself. He refused to believe he wouldn't see his sister again.

He packed a few clothes and some silver coins, then prepared to leave. To avoid being discovered, he climbed out of the window and stealthily made his way through the flower-lined path like a thief.

When Xu Mama reached Ji Tianci's door, she stopped and knocked, but no one answered. She called out twice more, but still no one answered. Xu Mama panicked and immediately burst through the door. Seeing that the window and wardrobe were open, she panicked even more.

She rushed out in a panic to call for help, and the entire Ji family was immediately alerted. Madam Li hurried over, seemingly frightened, and her face turned pale.

Everyone in the Ji household was busy looking for Ji Tianci. He didn't have any special skills, and he was discovered as soon as he tried to climb over the wall. Several people carried him back to the main house.
