Rebirth of a Farmer's Dad
Chapter 36 Development Plan
Having received a positive reply from the county head, Luo Feng happily returned to his shop. It seemed his business was poised to expand even further.
Although he got home late the night before, Luo Feng still got up early the next morning. Today he had to take his daughter to school and explain to the teacher why she hadn't been to school for the past few days.
After washing up, Luo Feng picked up his daughter, who was reluctant to get out of bed. He helped her get dressed, urged her to eat breakfast, and then took her to kindergarten.
The kindergarten was still the same. It seemed unchanged. But Luo Feng had gone from being a stranger to feeling familiar with it. It's worth mentioning that he had originally wanted to cover all the children's lunches at the kindergarten, but the principal refused, citing insufficient funds.
Luo Feng took Xinghua to their class's substitute teacher. Then, he briefly explained what had happened in the past few days, clarifying for the teacher why his daughter hadn't been to school.
The teacher didn't say anything. After all, at this time of year, many children would be absent or even drop out of school due to family matters. As long as Xinghua could still come to school, it wouldn't affect the kindergarten's enrollment.
After dropping his daughter off at class, Luo Feng said goodbye to the teacher and planned to return to the shop. But the teacher told him to remember to come to the parent-teacher conference next Monday.
"Parent-teacher conference? Aren't parent-teacher conferences usually held at the end of the semester?" Luo Feng muttered to himself.
But then he realized he'd been too busy lately; before he knew it, June was already over. His daughter really should be on summer vacation. Remembering what the teacher had said, Luo Feng returned to the shop.
Now, he doesn't have much time to waste on his daughter. No, it should be said that he doesn't have much time to take care of her. Although the county magistrate promised to recommend him to the principal of the county high school, he still needs to be prepared. There's an old saying that opportunity always favors the prepared mind.
Thinking about how his daughter's summer vacation was just around the corner, and how he probably wouldn't have much time to play with her during that period, Luo Feng suddenly felt a little guilty towards her. But he quickly realized that all his hard work now was so that his daughter could have a better life in the future.
People say that sons should be raised frugally and daughters lavishly. Although many people disagree with this view, it is a fact. No matter the era, raising a daughter always costs more money than raising a son. At least, that's what Luo Feng believes.
"Do you think it's easy for us to raise a daughter?" Luo Feng suddenly muttered to himself.
However, as for preparing for the school cafeteria, there's not much to prepare right now. Since kindergarten is starting summer vacation next week, I figured high school summer vacation wouldn't be much different, as it wouldn't be long before the students finished their summer break. In other words, I have two months to prepare.
The canteen mainly serves large-pot dishes, something Tiger and his friends learned before. But Tiger has to stay at the shop and can't leave. Looks like I'll have to find a few more people. Manpower isn't a problem; I can ask Lao Er, he has a few brothers. I just don't know if they're reliable. Looks like I'll have to try it myself.
There's no need to rush this. Just ask the second brother when you have some free time. If the people are reliable, then use the two months of summer vacation to train them in cooking large batches of food. This skill isn't difficult to learn; two months should be enough.
Another aspect is my wedding planning business. It's time to separate the wedding planning business from the shop. I've now established myself in the county's wedding planning industry, and only by separating the wedding planning business from the shop can it have greater room for development and possibilities.
Perfect timing! I recently heard that Wang Dana has been released. Looks like I'll have to find some time to go and have a chat with him. He may be a bit arrogant, but he's got real skills. How could Luo Feng possibly not use someone like that?
Thinking of this, Luo Feng couldn't help but recall Officer Liu, who had helped him before. He hadn't seen him much lately. He wondered what Liu was up to.
Official business was naturally none of Luo Feng's concern. Luo Feng only wanted to find Wang Dana and have him guide Zhugan and the others. If everything went smoothly, he planned to rent them a small courtyard, separate the wedding planning business from the shop, and establish a separate wedding planning company.
There are no issues with funding. Besides, renting a small courtyard and buying some supplies won't cost much. The shop's business has stabilized, and I earn around ten thousand yuan a month. I believe the income will be even higher during the summer vacation, since the children are on holiday and the adults have more time to spend.
Having made up his mind, Luo Feng quickly called over his second brother and asked him to contact some of his old brothers, saying that he wanted to treat them to drinks.
The second brother readily agreed and told Luo Feng that he would go and inform his brothers immediately. After saying that, the second brother couldn't wait to leave.
"Hey, the second brother is actually a good guy in every way, except he's a bit impulsive." Luo Feng muttered to himself as he watched the second brother's hurried figure.
Logically, if Luo Feng wanted to hire someone, he could have just told Lao Er; there was no need for this drinking party. However, Luo Feng believed that to judge a person's character, one should observe what they do when drunk. In his view, "drunkenness speaks volumes," and this was not just an empty phrase.
I originally intended to tell my second brother to invite the rest of the family over in a couple of days. But before I could even finish speaking, he stormed out the door. Now it seems I have no choice but to go with the flow. It's just a matter of one banquet; I own a restaurant, what trouble could I possibly be afraid of?
He told Hu Zi to cook a few dishes in the kitchen. Luo Feng also put a case of beer in the refrigerator and set aside a table for himself.
Now all the preparations are complete. Everything is ready; we're just waiting for the guests to arrive.
The second brother is indeed efficient; he had called all his brothers over in less than an hour after leaving home.
Looking at the group of thugs with brightly dyed hair standing in front of him, Luo Feng couldn't help but feel a little emotional. His second brother, who had been with him for a few months, no longer seemed so shady. Now, with his second brother standing among this group, it only made them look more like thugs.
"It seems that the environment really can change a person," Luo Feng couldn't help but blurt out.
"Brother Feng, what are you talking about?" the second brother asked, somewhat puzzled. His buddies also looked at Luo Feng with confusion.
Seeing the confused looks on everyone's faces, Luo Feng realized he had misspoke. He quickly laughed it off and told everyone that the food and wine were ready and they were just waiting to take their seats.
The guys, of course, didn't stand on ceremony with Luo Feng and readily sat down at the table, waiting for the meal to begin. They had long heard that Luo's cooking was excellent, but had never had the chance to try it due to their limited funds. Now that they had the opportunity, they weren't about to let it slip by.
Seeing that no one was dwelling on his slip of the tongue, Luo Feng secretly rejoiced. His words had sounded like he was looking down on these thugs; if they had heard him, things would have been terrible. These youngsters would most likely have wrecked his shop, and then who would he complain to?
Seeing that everyone had taken their seats, Luo Feng quickly instructed Hu Zi from the kitchen to serve them the food. Luo's cooking certainly didn't disappoint; seeing how much they ate with their mouths greasy, it was clear they were very satisfied with the meal.
After a few rounds of drinks, Luo Feng finally got down to business. He said to everyone, "I've brought you guys here today not just to treat you to a drink. I have some things to discuss with you."
"What's up, Brother Feng? Just say it, we're all on the same side." A guy with dyed yellow hair spoke up.
"That's right, just say it, we're all brothers." Someone chimed in.
"Did some fool mess with you again, Brother Feng? Tell us and we'll take care of him for you." The second brother downed a bowl of wine and said with great bravado.
