Rebirth of a Farmer's Dad

Chapter 25 Home Delivery

The next morning, the second brother arrived at Luo's shop. To verify his words, Luo Feng had the second brother show him around the county town.

The result satisfied Luo Feng quite a bit; no matter where in the county town, the second brother could always find the shortest route.

It seems this kid wasn't lying.

Afterwards, Luo Feng told his second brother about his plans. From now on, his second brother would be in charge of the store's delivery business. He would be provided with three meals a day, but there would be no base salary; he would only receive a commission of 50 cents per order.

The second brother agreed without even thinking about it, and even asked Luo Feng when he could start work.

When it comes to doing business, the sooner the better, so Luo Feng told him to start today. Just then, the phone installer called to say they would be coming to install the phone that morning.

Installing a telephone isn't difficult at all. Just run a telephone line in and connect it to the phone. As for opening an account and other formalities, Luo Feng had already taken care of that at the telecommunications bureau.

If all goes well, we should be able to start the delivery service around noon today.

After hearing Luo Feng's answer, the second brother was very excited. He secretly thought that today was his first day of work and he must do his best.

The two then returned to the shop, and soon after, the person installing the phone arrived. Just as expected, the phone was installed without much effort.

Luo Feng personally poured the telephone installer a cup of tea and offered him a cigarette before taking the phone number the installer gave him and leaving.

He planned to order a huge banner that read, "Luo's Restaurant is now offering delivery service, bringing meals to your door." He would also leave his restaurant's contact information, and that would be all.

Without further ado, Luo Feng returned shortly after leaving with a huge banner. He called over Hu Zi and asked him to help hang the banner in the most prominent position at the shop entrance.

Many diners coming and going saw it, and some even quietly took out pens to write down the contact information on it.

"It looks like our new business will be open soon," Luo Feng thought to himself with delight.

Sure enough, there was no response by noon, but someone called the store in the afternoon.

Without saying a word, the second brother took the things Luo Feng had prepared according to the customer's request and headed straight to the location designated by the customer.

Before leaving, Luo Feng told him, "Be polite to the customers. We'll waive the small change for their meal. Just say they were the first to order delivery, and this is a discount from the restaurant."

The second brother replied impatiently, clearly not understanding Luo Feng's meaning. "When have you ever seen a business owner voluntarily reduce the price for a customer? You don't even know them, why are you doing this?"

But Luo Feng didn't think that way; he had his own plans.

Don't be fooled by the fact that you're currently the only one in the county offering delivery services. It's not that difficult; others could easily follow suit. But if a competitor were to emerge one day, your business would be in serious trouble.

It's better to leave a good impression on guests beforehand, so that you'll have more room to maneuver later.

Sometimes, doing business is like being a person; these are principles you must grasp yourself, otherwise no one will tell you. Even if someone tells you, you won't remember them. "What you learn from books is ultimately superficial"—isn't that the very essence of the saying?

Therefore, although he saw that the second brother looked unwilling, Luo Feng did not say anything more. He knew that it would be useless to say more, and that the second brother would understand on his own in time.

And so, Luo's delivery business was launched, and it became more and more successful every day.

With the help of the food delivery business, Luo Feng calculated that his monthly income had stabilized at over 10,000 yuan.

As for the second brother, he gradually began to integrate into Luo Feng's small group. At least now, no one treats him like an outsider.

The second brother delivered takeout every day, braving wind and rain. Although the number of people ordering takeout in this era could not be compared with that of later generations, based on his commission, he earned several hundred yuan a month. In fact, his salary was much higher than that of Tiger and the others.

This made Luo Feng wonder if he should give Hu Zi and the others a raise, since they were his old buddies who had been with him for so long, and he couldn't treat them unfairly.

After much deliberation, Luo Feng decided to increase everyone's monthly salary by 50 yuan. Although the number 250 sounded a bit awkward, he figured they wouldn't complain about the raise.

Thinking about this, Luo Feng started to tally up his income again. Now, Luo Ji works three shifts a day, and his monthly income has reached around 10000. After deducting costs, his monthly income is over 6000.

The food delivery business can generate a net income of more than 1000 yuan for Luo Feng every month.

In addition, Luo Feng launched a one-stop wedding service, which occasionally generates a profit of around 2000 yuan per month.

In total, Luo Feng's monthly income has exceeded 10,000 yuan.

However, Luo Feng's expenses were also enormous. Besides the cost of raw materials for the shop, he also had to pay 550 yuan in rent each month, 1200-1300 yuan in employee salaries, plus utilities, gas, and other expenses. Luo Feng's monthly expenses totaled around 2000 yuan.

After deducting income and expenses, Luo Feng's monthly net profit is over 8000.

However, Luo Feng was not entirely satisfied with this, after all, in his later life he was the head chef of an international hotel, and his monthly income was much higher than this.

So he started planning for the future again. Luo Feng thought that after a few months, when he had some money in hand, he would rent a small courtyard house and separate the wedding business from the shop.

After becoming independent, the wedding planning company can handle more than just the banquet; it can also do wedding planning, bride and groom attire, and so on. This way, there is still room for my income to increase.

Although I don't have the money to rent a yard right now, I can still make a wedding plan first. Having a record will make things easier later.

With this in mind, Luo Feng decided to take some time to write down the complete wedding planning scheme he knew about the future.

After all, this is all experience. With this knowledge, Luo Feng felt that his wedding planning company would definitely be able to take the lead in the market.

The wedding planning can be put on hold for now, but I've only trained Zhugan, Shitou, and Dazhuang. It seems we still need someone to be the wedding emcee. And then there's the wedding photographer; I don't seem to have anyone like that around me.

However, Luo Feng had already made up his mind. Wang Dana was still in prison, and he would go to his door to have a chat after he was released in a few months.

As for the photographer, it seems we'll have to ask the second brother for help. He's a newcomer to the county, having only been there for a few months and doesn't know many people there.

However, thinking of his second son, Luo Feng realized that he didn't even know much about his family. He didn't know what his family did for a living.

It seems I need to find an opportunity to have a good talk with him.
