Yu Yuetong felt a surge of warmth in her heart. She longed to become his ally, but in an instant, she realized her own identity and situation, and this feeling of warmth was simply a luxury.

"You two are so in sync, it feels like you're playing volleyball together." Ji Momo pouted, feigning sarcasm but also full of resentment.

The ambiguous atmosphere between them made Yu Yuetong's heart race. She pursed her lips, trying to calm herself. However, timing was always so coincidental. The curtain outside the door was lifted again, and Qin Xian suddenly walked in, interrupting the battle.

"What are you talking about? A pointless argument?" Qin Xian's expression remained stern, like a towering giant surveying the territory he ruled.

"Father," Qin Yu began, but then yawned, seemingly too lazy to explain to his father.

Yu Yuetong's palms were sweating with nervousness. She pretended to be calm and stood up straight, but in her heart she thought, "Today is really going to be a chaotic family gathering."

"Don't let your arguments affect the harmony of the family." Qin Xian glanced at Ji Momo disdainfully, then turned his gaze to Yu Yuetong, his eyes full of scrutiny.

Yu Yuetong's heart tightened. Qin Xian's disdain pierced her heart like an invisible blade. She tried to adjust her expression. Although she remained calm on the surface, the frustration in her heart was already overflowing.

"Of course I know what I should do," Yu Yuetong replied calmly, though her face turned slightly pale.

"You'd better understand that becoming my daughter-in-law is not an easy thing. You have to gain everyone's approval, especially the old man in the family." Qin Xian's voice gradually became more forceful, seemingly containing a threat.

These words struck Yu Yuetong like a blow to the head, causing her to secretly groan and feel a pang of despair. She wanted to seize the Qin family's inheritance, but she had never considered the complex web of relationships behind her.

"I will try my best." Yu Yuetong managed to say these words, trying to gain even a little support, but her voice trembled involuntarily.

Ji Momo stood to the side, a sarcastic smile playing on her lips: "Trying hard is a good idea. I hope you can do it, otherwise no one will save you."

Qin Yu's face was gloomy, seemingly quite dissatisfied with the interference from his cousin from the Ji family. He frowned, as if he wanted to argue, but hesitated.

Yu Yuetong's heart was in turmoil. She silently repeated her desired goal over and over in her mind: to gain power and ultimately escape this predetermined, forced marriage. Looking around, the flames in her heart relentlessly devoured every inch of peace.

Just as Yu Yuetong was feeling increasingly suffocated, a series of revenge plots suddenly unfolded. A sudden screech of brakes came from outside the car, followed by a piercing crash! The others in the room exchanged glances involuntarily and followed closely behind.

"What's going on?" Qin Yu was the first to react and quickly walked to the window.

Yu Yuetong held her breath and then involuntarily followed. A premonition rose in her heart. She couldn't be sure how things would develop next, but she vaguely felt that the situation was not developing in the direction she expected. Instead, it seemed to be more complicated and fraught with danger.

Yu Yuetong looked out the window, a growing sense of unease rising within her. She instinctively clenched her fists, trying to remain calm, but the tension inside her roared like a raging fire. Then, the scene before her made her heart tighten even more.

"Screech!" A piercing sound of brakes followed by a deafening crash, the impact striking Yu Yuetong's heart like a heavy hammer.

"What's going on?" Qin Yu's voice was like an urgent alarm in her ear, tinged with tension. He leaned out the window, his face showing anxiety, yet he had to suppress his emotions because of the situation he was about to face. Yu Yuetong's heart also jumped into her throat.

"Could it be a car accident..." She hurriedly grabbed the chair beside her, trying to calm herself down, but at this moment her heart was churning with unknown fear.

"I'll go check!" Qin Yu flung open the door and left, leaving Yu Yuetong alone inside. A strange sense of unease washed over her. Qin Xian followed closely behind, continuing to press for details about what had happened.

"What a chaotic family gathering," Yu Yuetong muttered to herself. She took a deep breath, but felt the air was thick with tension, and everything around her seemed incredibly distant.

Just then, Ji Momo suddenly leaned over, a cold smile on her lips: "I heard my young master is in trouble again? What a nuisance."

"Stop adding fuel to the fire," Yu Yuetong couldn't help but retort, though cautiously, her temper was already rising slightly. She didn't want to confront this person, but in that instant, she felt she had to defend her position.

"I'm just telling the truth." Ji Momo smiled sweetly, as alluring as a blooming flower yet full of thorns. "Don't you think this scene of blood feuding within the Qin family is just too entertaining to watch?"

Yu Yuetong felt a chill in her heart. Ji Momo before her was like a rose with sharp thorns; she had no way to argue with her. She could only bite her lip tightly, a hint of suppressed resentment flashing in her eyes. Just then, the commotion outside grew closer, as if it were heralding an even greater storm.

"I need to go outside and take a look," she said abruptly, then rushed out, trying to calm the rising anxiety in her heart.

When she stepped outside, she saw Qin Yu and Qin Xian directing their subordinates. At the scene of the accident, several cars were piled up in a haphazard fashion, sirens blared, and the crowd of onlookers seemed to form an invisible wall, keeping her at a distance.

"Are you still spacing out? Come here quickly." Qin Yu turned his head and waved to her, his tone filled with undeniable anxiety.

"What can I do?" Yu Yuetong ran to his side, her palms icy cold, yet a strange courage rose within her. She wanted to be the light beside him, however faint, but at least to be there for him.

"Can you try to investigate and see if anyone was injured at the scene?" he said in a deep voice, his anxiety clearly visible in his eyes.

"I'm going right now!" Yu Yuetong organized her thoughts and quickly headed towards the scene. However, as she walked, a gaze made her heart skip a beat.

"Gentlemen, please do not crowd!" an officer commanded, causing the crowd behind to surge forward. Yu Yuetong desperately pushed her way through the crowd, hoping to learn more.

"What's going on?" She gritted her teeth and tried to grab a bystander.

"I heard something happened to someone from the Qin family. I haven't seen anything else, so I don't know the specifics," the man said, frowning, his eyes full of concern and curiosity.

Just as Yu Yuetong was feeling uneasy, a traffic policeman suddenly walked towards them, as if searching something. A thought flashed through Yu Yuetong's mind, and she turned and ran towards Qin Yu.

“We need to have someone investigate this; we can’t just let this incident slide,” she said, clenching her fist confidently.
