"What do you get out of saying these things?" Qin Reng retorted without backing down, his face cold as he turned to meet her gaze, his eyes sharp as knives. "Or do you want us to believe you care about us?"

“Smart people can always see the best of both worlds, and I’m not stupid.” Ji Momo’s lips curled into a disdainful smile, a smile that seemed like an invisible spiderweb, locking them in firmly. “However, if you want to know what my connection is to the incident at the bar, you’d better keep your distance.”

Yu Yuetong frowned, unwilling to accept the situation and wanted to question him, but Qin Reng interrupted her. He approached Ji Momo, and the sudden closeness made Yu Yuetong's heart tighten, as if she had been pushed into an unknown abyss.

"I'm warning you, don't even think about doing anything to her!" He lowered his voice, his tone cold and threatening. Ji Momo's gaze darted between them, seemingly trying to catch any emotion she could exploit.

“You always protect her like this, even with things I wouldn’t even dare to think about.” Ji Momo’s tone was teasing, her eyes like those of a cunning hunter, ready to swoop down at any moment. Yu Yuetong felt uneasy under her gaze, like fabric being torn apart; she had lost all confidence in her fragile relationship with Qin Reng.

"Are you threatening me?" Qin Reng responded coldly, his eyes icy. This revelation of an invisible wound made Yu Yuetong extremely uneasy. She knew that although Qin Reng was cold and hard, he harbored a gentle heart, and this confrontation would only make him more unhappy.

"I'm just stating the truth." Ji Momo smiled slightly, cleverly turning the eerie atmosphere into a game with a different flavor. "Besides, everyone's bottom line is different; some may be very high, while others may be a bottomless pit."

A silence fell between them, the tense atmosphere thick with tension. Yu Yuetong tried to analyze the situation, but her unease only grew stronger.

"Enough!" Mo Yan broke the silence, his tone tinged with anxiety. "We have to act now, or Ji Momo will be the one to strike, not us!"

“You’re right, let’s get out of here.” Yu Yuetong nodded, but in her heart she was making a plan: she would never allow Ji Momo to continue to linger around them, and she had to find an opportunity to catch this obstacle off guard and leave her nowhere to hide.

"How boring." Ji Momo's lips curled up, like a queen who had seen through all conspiracies, and she casually turned around. "Do you think you can stop me?"

"Don't get too cocky," Qin Reng said coldly, then pulled Yu Yuetong outside. His hand was on Yu Yuetong's waist, and the warmth conveyed a sense of security to her.

"This isn't over yet!" Behind them, Ji Momo smiled coldly, her far-reaching gaze seemingly omnipresent, concealing a cunning scheme. Yu Yuetong felt a chill run down her spine, as if she sensed an impending crisis...

Just as her heart was churning, a chilling whisper came from behind her like a curse.

Yu Yuetong looked up and stared coldly at Ji Momo, secretly vowing that she would not allow this woman to cause any more interference between her and Qin Reng.

"Don't think I'll believe you so easily," she said in a low voice, trying to keep her voice steady, but inwardly she was filled with resentment because of Ji Momo's face, which always wore a hint of a victorious smile. She remembered that the female protagonist in the original book was subjected to all sorts of difficulties by Ji Momo, and ultimately met a tragic end.

Ji Momo shrugged easily, her smile undiminished by Yu Yuetong's threat; in fact, it seemed to grow even brighter. She approached step by step, and Yu Yuetong could feel her provocation like a cold blade, easily slicing through her defenses.

"Unfortunately, Yuetong, you're still too young. How could you possibly understand the real game between Qin Reng and me?" Ji Momo's voice was deep and pleasant, carrying a hint of sinister innuendo. She leaned forward slightly, as if trying to exploit Yu Yuetong's vulnerability.

"This is not a game, Ji Momo." Qin Reng stood between the two, replying coldly, making no attempt to hide his disgust for Ji Momo. His gaze was sharp and unwavering, like a knife.

"Oh?" Ji Momo raised a mocking glint in her eyes. "You think I care? In reality, everyone's fate is just a pawn in my hands."

Yu Yuetong frowned, a sense of unease rising within her. The resolute and arrogant look in Ji Momo's eyes seemed to foreshadow something.

"Let's not waste any more time here." Qin Reng clenched his fists, his voice low and menacing, clearly angered by Ji Momo's words. He pulled Yu Yuetong and turned to leave, but they had only taken a few steps when Ji Momo's voice drifted over again.

"It would be terrible if you rushed into action and forgot about your feelings for each other." A sinister smile curled at the corner of her lips, as if she were plotting some brilliant scheme.

"What are you talking about?" Yu Yuetong stopped and turned around to ask, her unease growing stronger.

“I’m saying that the bond of trust between you and Qin Reng is gradually weakening.” Ji Momo leaned against the door frame, a provocative expression on her face, like a cunning cheetah quietly watching its prey.

"Stop playing word games." Qin Reng's tone was impatient. "What exactly do you want?"

Ji Momo's smile remained unchanged. She casually twisted her fingers, as if playing with a strawberry: "What I want is very simple. As long as the trust between you is destroyed, your relationship will become very difficult."

"I don't believe any of your ridiculous advice." Yu Yuetong was wary, but her tone carried a hint of disdain.

"Think what you will. Anyway, I will play an important role in this game." Ji Momo adopted a profound attitude, then waved goodbye and turned to walk into the corridor, her back view appearing mysterious and unpredictable.

"What a troublesome woman." Yu Yuetong gritted her teeth, feeling extremely resentful. She turned to Qin Reng and said, "I absolutely cannot let her continue to be so smug."

Qin Reng remained silent, only smiling slightly, his eyes revealing a hint of approval. He knew that Yu Yuetong's unique persistence and courage always brought them hope at crucial moments.

“We should start looking for clues.” His voice was deep and powerful, seemingly carrying an irresistible force.

Soon after, the two arrived at an antique-style teahouse, where the fragrant aroma of tea carried a subtle elegance. After they sat down, more and more people gathered around them, their laughter and conversation rising and falling.

"Do you think what Ji Momo said is possible?" Yu Yuetong frowned slightly, her face full of doubt. Searching for the right moment, she scanned the surrounding crowd, afraid of missing any clue.

"No." Qin Reng calmly rejected her concerns. He leaned back, resting his elbows on the table, his eyes still sharp as a hunter's. "I firmly believe that sincerity and trust between us are the foundation that will determine our future."
