Magical Journey: The Other Shore Blooms on the Other Shore
Chapter 78 Bonus Chapter: Untitled (Bonus Chapter for Elena's Birthday)
"Heave-ho~~" A little gray-haired girl tried to use the books as a stepping stone to reach the higher book on the bookshelf. But unfortunately, she wasn't tall enough, and no matter how hard she tried, she was still a few centimeters short of the book she wanted to read.
"I'll jump!" The little girl leaped up without giving up, and her little hand immediately grabbed the book.
The bad news is that she missed a step when she landed.
The feeling of weightlessness spread throughout her body instantly—oh no, oh no! The little girl reflexively took out her wand, hoping to cast some magic to make up for it, but having just learned magic, she couldn't think of any magic in her mind and fell face-first into the mud.
Then she kicked the books that had been used as stepping stones into a mess.
"Ouch, ouch." It hurts so much.
But...it wasn't...not discovered, was it...?
The little girl looked around and, finding nothing amiss, breathed a sigh of relief before opening the book to begin her reading journey.
I'll read a book; I'll tidy up these things later.
But before she could even open the old copy of "The Journey of Witch," the book was suddenly snatched from her hands.
"Whoa, who is it?" the girl cried out in dissatisfaction.
Ugh, I just checked and no one was there.
The little girl was baring her fangs and baring her claws, ready to see who was up to no good, when she realized that the shadow in front of her looked slightly familiar.
No, it's more like we're extremely familiar with each other.
"dad!?"
The little girl stood up with an awkward laugh, not daring to look up: "When did you get back?"
"This question isn't important." The answer that awaited her was the little girl's mantra, which she had heard countless times: "This isn't important, that isn't important—I don't really know what is important."
"The important thing is, didn't your mother tell you that you have to tell her what you want to see? Many of the magic books here are not for someone your age to learn." Qin glanced at the book "The Journey of the Witch" in her hand and frowned.
When did we get such tattered books at home?
Well, given her habit of hoarding collectibles, it wouldn't be surprising to find a few slime specimens in the house.
"Um...this isn't a magic book...can you not punish me? I promise I won't do it again..." Noah tapped his little hands together, his ahoge (cowlick) drooping listlessly.
Copying books was the worst thing ever. Where did Dad learn that from? It was worse than getting a spanking.
“Okay, clean up the mess you made. I don’t know how your mother will punish you if she sees it when she gets back,” Qin said, flipping through the book for a few moments.
"Please, please don't tell Mom," Noah pleaded.
After all, it was he who secretly sneaked into his mother's magic library and made a mess of the place.
"Can't you tell me anything?"
This voice...
No way...
You guys are usually working at this time of year, right? Why are you all back for team building today?
Spicy meatballs...
"Hahaha—" Noah chuckled, smiling as he watched Elena slowly walk in from the library door. "Mom's back so early... Hahaha..."
“The magic academy hired a lecturer to teach there, but they wouldn’t pay me, so I came back.” Elena placed her magic hat on the coat rack by the door, then calmly looked at the messy library.
Everything is unspoken.
Anyone who isn't blind will immediately understand what happened.
"Can I just copy it once?" Noah asked tremblingly.
"Hmm, it's wonderful that little Noah is so sensible. I remember it was the thickest one~" Elena smiled.
He was smiling so cutely, so why did I feel such a creepy and terrifying feeling about him? It's time to say goodbye to the bright sunshine outside again, and instead, I'll be sadly accompanied by a bunch of incomprehensible random symbols.
"Also, clean it up—this is a rare, out-of-print book I bought, and you used it as a stepping stone? You can't buy it anymore now, you know." Elena picked up a book that Noah had stepped on with heartache.
The book seemed to be crying out to Elena about the indecent treatment she had suffered.
Why don't you just treat the book like your daughter? — Hmph.
Noah pouted.
That's what he was thinking, but Noah still carefully gathered up the books that she had messed up.
He says one thing but does another; I really don't know where he learned that from.
"What are you looking at?" After tidying up, Noah went to his room to copy books, and only then did Elena come to her senses and see Qin flipping through something.
“Your old diary,” Qin said.
“My old manuscript? I thought I’d lost it long ago,” Elena said. “I have to thank little Noah for getting it back.”
Qin continued to quietly turn the pages.
"What? I don't have as many books as you want to read?" Elena said.
"Still as narcissistic as ever, hasn't changed at all over the years." Qin closed the book. "If Noah inherits this bad habit, I'll really have a headache."
"I hope it hurts to death."
(Just added an extra chapter. To be honest, this part was what I wanted as the ending... So let's treat it as a side story. I don't think anyone will read to the end without realizing it's a future timeline.)
