Magical Journey: The Other Shore Blooms on the Other Shore
Chapter 235 Target: Beatrice
Elena’s attic door rang again at dinner time.
Elena habitually used magic to open a crack in the door: "Put dinner in, I'll eat it later."
“Irena, it’s me.” Saya’s voice came through the crack in the door.
Seriously, why did she come too? Does Teacher Fran think she can win people over by playing the emotional card? She's already made it so clear that it's dangerous, very dangerous, so why bring others along? Is she just adding fuel to the fire?
Neither persuading herself to give up nor offering to help her was something Elena could accept.
Compared to the former, Elena found the latter even more unacceptable. They had no idea how terrifying Angela was, and could not possibly imagine how frightening the kingdom that Qin described, where the witch could blot out the clouds, truly was.
Elena was mentally prepared for the possibility that she might never return.
After several days of effort, Elena finally calculated Beatrice's exact coordinates. Hopefully, Qin was still alright. She could get there now, even as a witch with her unparalleled flying speed. It would still be nearly a month's journey from there to Roberta, and she couldn't afford to encounter any unexpected blizzards along the way.
Damn it, if only I knew that teleportation spell. The magic created by that traveling witch is truly enviable. To be able to cast spells that can only be inscribed on a teleportation array using a magician's wand, and even to teleport to a fixed point—such talent—ah, really, but I no longer have time to study it in detail.
"Elena Elena, it's me, Emnesia. May I come in?" Another familiar voice came from the doorway.
What brings you here? How did you get here?
“What are you doing here—Irena doesn’t even allow people to come in, how could she possibly allow you…” Saya muttered.
“I’ve traveled with Elena, have you?” Emnicia retorted.
"I have a hat that Elena gave me, do you have one?"
“I have traveled with Elena.”
"I was taught magic by Elena, what about you?"
“I have traveled with Elena.”
"you……"
Elena couldn't keep her composure any longer. What were these two clowns doing, instead of performing stand-up comedy, babbling in front of her door?
Elena opened the door with a dark expression: "Where's my dinner?"
"Dinner? They don't know?" Saya said, feigning innocence.
If we weren't sisters, why would you come over to bring dinner?
“Dinner? I’ll go get it.” Amysia immediately went downstairs to get it.
"You sneaky bastard!" Saya, who was a beat slow to react, seemed to have used magic to fly down directly. The short time she was airborne allowed her to catch up with Emnessia immediately, but she seemed to have lost her sense of direction and fell down with Emnessia.
The two of them fell flat on their faces, it was quite a scare.
"Sister!" Avilia and Mina, the two younger sisters, rushed over in unison, pulled their older sister away, and touched their noses to try to confirm that they were still alive.
Has Emnicia fallen like this before?
Perhaps she was born with such a uniquely advantageous physique.
"What are you all doing here?" Elena genuinely hadn't expected everyone to come. If Emnicia was here, it was easy to imagine Avilia being here too; after all, she couldn't picture them being separated. Mina was a little unexpected, but given her sister-complex, it made sense that she came with Saya. So, is Sila here too? Did Ms. Fran call everyone here? What was she planning?
“They’re here to help you.” Despite being completely disoriented from the fall, Saya blurted out immediately.
“I don’t need it,” Elena replied immediately.
"Elena, everyone's here. Isn't it impolite to just say 'no need'?" Fran seemed to notice the commotion and walked over. Victorica was still in the kitchen, so she hadn't seen what was happening yet.
“Teacher Fran, didn’t I tell you that this matter is dangerous?” Elena asked, narrowing her eyes.
"So? So you want to face this alone. Elena, tell me the truth, how confident are you that you can bring the harp back?" Fran asked.
"This……"
"Let the teacher guess, less than 30%, right? Maybe I'm exaggerating—Elena, everyone is here to help you out of kindness. This is our own decision, and it has nothing to do with whether it's dangerous or not."
Do you think I didn't know? I knew you guys would try to play the emotional card.
Elena gritted her teeth and refused again.
“Irena, even if you refuse, we will follow you. Time waits for no one. Instead of dwelling on this issue, wouldn’t it be better to spend more time thinking about a rescue plan? Think more about Qin, and don’t focus on us.”
That's the art of persuasion.
I'll offer you irresistible benefits, forcing you to compromise. Whether in business negotiations or everyday interactions, grasping the key benefits means you've already won half the battle.
Fran stated that she would follow, and Elena could try to shake her off if she dared.
But in reality, getting rid of a veteran witch, especially since Saya and the others are a group of witches, is not much more likely than getting rid of Koto.
Arguing about this is a waste of time; neither side can change the other's opinion.
But time waits for no one. The more time you waste on this, the worse Qin's situation will become. This statement immediately made Elena give in.
It's true that experience matters. In terms of witch skills, Fran and Elaina are almost evenly matched. In the magic duel, Elaina defeated her on the day she graduated, even though Fran hadn't taken it seriously enough, it was enough to prove her outstanding magical skills.
But when it comes to social skills, these young people are simply too naive. This kind of experience—seeing through someone's thoughts at a glance and speaking the truth with a single word—requires time to refine.
After a long silence, Elena gave in.
“Okay,” Elena finally said.
“Don’t be so downcast. More people mean more strength,” Fran said. “Now, you can explain what happened on Beatrice’s side.”
While eating her bread, Elena gave a brief explanation of Beatrice's situation.
It's best to keep the details about Jean brief, since whether she's a demon or not is irrelevant, and Elena herself isn't entirely clear on what Jean was supposed to do in the past. What's important is explaining the specifics of Beatrice's group.
"Thousands upon thousands of witches?" Fran's eyelids twitched after hearing Elena's brief introduction. "How could so many witches be born in such a frigid place?"
What kind of place is this? This is even more outrageous than Pierpoint.
“I told you, it’s dangerous,” Elena said. “But I’m going. You don’t need to.”
“Back then, you didn’t have to take care of me and my sister, did you?” Emnicia retorted.
“That’s different. What is Ister… compared to Beatrice?”
“Elena, instead of arguing about this, tell me your plan,” Fran interrupted. “Facing so many witches, you must have a plan, right?”
