Figure Skating: Waltz on Ice

Chapter 48 Motion Sickness

Only after hearing Hao Shuxue's familiar voice coming from the restroom did they find the two.

"What's wrong with Du Liangchen? What's going on?"

"Coach, Si Rui is airsick." Hao Shuxue gestured for the coach to move into his seat.

"I have the medicine, I'll go get it." The coach hurriedly returned to his seat to find the medicine.

Du Liangchen vomited up everything he could, and his mouth tasted incredibly bitter. He was so weak from exhaustion that his legs felt like jelly.

A kind flight attendant handed him a glass of water, which Du Liangchen accepted and thanked.

"The medicine is here. Du Liangchen, take it."

The coach placed the medicine in Du Liangchen's hand and told him to swallow it with the water in his hand.

Then the coach and Hao Shuxue helped him back to his seat.

Another coach, Li, noticed Du Liangchen's pale face and weak appearance and asked worriedly, "What's wrong?"

"I'm airsick, I feel terrible," Coach Qian replied, supporting Du Liangchen.

Coach Li: "Have you taken your medicine?"

Coach Qian: "We ate it. Luckily, your sister-in-law had prepared in advance."

Du Liangchen slumped in his chair with a furrowed brow, his hands clenched tightly in discomfort.

Coach Li: "What should we do? Will this affect Du Liangchen's performance in the game?"

"It's no use saying all this now. Hopefully he can recover before the match. He must be more worried than we are." Coach Qian sighed as he looked at the distressed Du Liangchen.

With six or seven hours to go before arriving in France, they had no idea what would happen to Du Liangchen; they could only wait.

"Sirui, don't lean back in your chair if you're dizzy, it'll make you even dizzier. Leaning on my shoulder will make you feel better," Hao Shuxue said worriedly, looking at Du Liangchen who was gritting his teeth and persevering.

Du Liangchen opened her eyes and glanced at him, then slowly moved towards him, resting her head on his shoulder.

Hao Shuxue covered Du Liangchen with his coat, hoping it would make him feel better.

The plane finally landed.

During this time, Du Liangchen was in a daze and went to the bathroom to vomit four or five times. He didn't eat anything for several hours, only drank a little water, and was too weak to walk after getting off the plane.

With no other option, Coach Li carried the dazed Du Liangchen out and put him down at the luggage area.

He leaned against the wall and waited with the others for their luggage, which contained his most important possessions.

After collecting their luggage, Coach Qian carried Du Liangchen, Coach Li, and Hao Shuxue on his back and they left the airport for the hotel.

On the way, Du Liangchen got carsick again. After an hour and a half, he was so dizzy that he lost consciousness. He had no idea how or when he arrived at the hotel.

When he woke up again, he saw Coach Qian still sleeping on the bed next to him. Du Liangchen didn't feel any better after his nap.

Seeing that it was still early and Du Liangchen was feeling unwell, he drifted off to sleep.

Fortunately, they arrived in France several days in advance to adjust to the time difference; otherwise, Du Liangchen would definitely be in serious condition.

Because he hadn't eaten for over ten hours, Du Liangchen's stomach problems flared up, and the discomfort caused by airsickness and motion sickness left both coaches exhausted.

However, no one had high hopes for Du Liangchen in this competition, because this was his first year participating in an international event, and it was understandable that he would be nervous and underperform.

But this is the first time I've seen someone so exhausted before even starting the competition that they're practically half-dead.

Du Liangchen has been here for three days and still hasn't recovered. He feels weak and uncomfortable all over, while Hao Shuxue has already started training.
