Mei Jing felt his tense body and knew she had scared him. "Why are you so nervous? Do you think I'm going to do something to you? Don't worry, I won't do anything reckless. I just don't want you to have to endure this long night alone. I can't be of much help, but I can stay with you."

The familiar, warm embrace and comforting words gave Du Liangchen's long-strained spirit a sense of security.

He felt as if he had fallen into a dark abyss, and in his struggle for light, he felt as if he had found the sun.
