Figure Skating: Waltz on Ice

Chapter 458 Just Hold My Hand

Mei Jing took Du Liangchen's hand, and the two walked out of the residential area. He pointed to the car's location and said, "Okay, don't bother seeing me off. The car is over there. I'm going back."

Du Liangchen: [Remember to eat when you get back.]

Mei Jing was surprised, "How could you..." She almost admitted it, but quickly shut up.

"I knew it." Du Liangchen curled the corners of his lips. "Actually, I was also at fault today; I should have talked to you properly."

Mei Jing shook her head, grabbed his hand, and said seriously, "No, it was because I made the decision without asking for your opinion beforehand. This is a matter between the two of us, and I can't be the only one who decides."

After calming Mei Jing down and watching him leave, Du Liangchen turned back.

A week later, the two found a house they liked. It wasn't a detached house, but a three-bedroom, one-living room house with a balcony.

Early Saturday morning, Mei Jing came to pick up Du Liangchen and help him move his things.

Looking at Grandpa Du and Grandma Du with their somber faces in the living room, Mei Jing took a deep breath, walked up to them, and suddenly bowed deeply.

The two elderly people on the sofa were startled.

"What are you doing?"

"That's right, let's talk things out."

Mei Jing earnestly and sincerely assured him, "I know that agreeing to let Xiao Chen live with me is a risky decision for you, and you don't really trust me. But I still want to assure you that I will not bully Chenchen. My mission in this life is to love him, protect him, and support every choice he makes."

"Hmph! That sounds nice... I'll wait for you to keep your promise." Grandpa Du scoffed, only calming down after being glared at by Grandma Du.

Hearing a sound from upstairs, Mei Jing quickly went up to help Du Liangchen move his things.

After seeing Du Liangchen off, the smiles on Grandpa Du and Grandma Du's faces instantly vanished.

Grandpa Du sat on the sofa, grumbling angrily, "If the doctor hadn't said that Du Liangchen is under a lot of pressure and needs to be given a relaxed space to unwind, that brat Mei Jing wouldn't have been able to take Xiaochen away."

Grandma Du was already annoyed, and he kept nagging beside her, so she instantly lost her patience. "Oh, that's enough, stop nagging. It's all for the child to get over this as soon as possible. We're not the same age as each other, so it's natural that we can't say certain things. Didn't you see that even his mother is indifferent? You should be content."

Grandpa Du: "It's all his parents' fault! I don't even want to talk about it. You know, Xiao Chen didn't develop a rebellious mentality and grow up badly because of his parents' different treatment of the three children. We, as elders, have already done our job."

Grandma Du: "Don't bring up the past. The two of them are too ambitious. Xiao Chen was never part of their expectations. It was only because her mother and I persuaded us that we didn't strip him of his birthright. Things are what they are now, and no one can go back to the way they were."

As Mei Jing drove, she whistled happily, her eyes constantly glancing at Du Liangchen beside her.

Feeling uncomfortable being stared at, Du Liangchen gestured for someone to "drive carefully."

Mei Jing said in a playful tone, "Yes, sir, boyfriend!"

Du Liangchen couldn't stand his overbearing attitude, so she turned around and slapped him, then looked out the window and couldn't help but chuckle to herself.

When they arrived at the underground parking lot of the residential complex, Mei Jing opened the trunk. Du Liangchen was reaching for a box when Mei Jing grabbed his wrist.

"Oh! I'll take it. This violin case is heavy. You can take the shoebox."

Du Liangchen: [I'm not that fragile, I can take it.]

Mei Jing, too embarrassed to say it aloud, gestured in sign language: "But I don't want you to get tired, otherwise it will break my heart."

Du Liangchen's face flushed red instantly, and he punched him in the chest.

Mei Jing grinned and suddenly leaned in to kiss his cheek. "Okay, I'm fully charged now. Let's start moving things."

Du Liangchen watched his busy figure and smiled to herself.

Mei Jing carefully placed the box on the small cart specially prepared for the move, carried the remaining computer bag and guitar bag on her shoulder, pushed the cart with one hand, and placed the shoe box that she had just pretended to stuff into his arms on the cart with the other, and then took his hand.

"Let's go home."

Du Liangchen gestured anxiously, "Are you sure you don't need my help?"

Mei Jing shook her head. "It's not heavy. Put the heavy things in the cart. You can just hold my hand." After saying that, she pulled him toward the stairs.

They went straight up to the ninth floor, where Mei Jing took out her keys to open the door, and the two of them lifted the car over the threshold together.

Du Liangchen sent a message to his grandparents that he had arrived safely. Then the two of them carried his personal belongings into the room together, while Mei Jing moved the musical instruments into the empty room.

It was an hour later when everything was finally packed up.

The two slumped on the sofa, Du Liangchen's leg kicking the other's. They looked at each other and smiled, feeling an indescribable sense of satisfaction and joy as they looked around at everything.

Mei Jing glanced at the time; it was already 11 a.m. "Are you hungry? I'll go cook. What do you want to eat?"

Du Liangchen pursed his lips. "There's nothing here. Let's go to the supermarket to buy groceries."

Mei Jing looked at him, who was clearly too lazy to move but still suggested going out. He had a conflicted expression on his face, and Mei Jing suddenly found him incredibly cute, just like Lan Xin's kitten.

"No need, I already bought them and they're all in the refrigerator."

Du Liangchen's eyes widened in surprise, his pursed lips slightly parted. "When?"

Mei Jing shrugged. "After I took you home yesterday, I thought you don't usually like to go out, so I bought it."

Du Liangchen felt that Mei Jing completely understood him, and his heart was filled with sweetness. He opened his arms to hug her.

Mei Jing was overjoyed by his sudden initiative and pounced on him with a grin.

......

"La la la la la la~"

Mei Jing, wearing an apron around her waist, busied herself in the kitchen, a slight smile playing on her swollen lips as she hummed a little tune while washing vegetables. She then cut carrots into heart shapes and scored shiitake mushrooms.

Du Liangchen wasn't idle either; he unpacked the boxes and took out his treasures one by one, filling the empty room little by little. Finally, he tuned each one.

"Thump~ thump~~ thump......"

Mei Jing placed the dishes on the table, but didn't see anyone in the living room. "Chenchen, dinner's ready!"

Upon hearing the sound, Du Liangchen put down the drum set, which was not yet installed, and quickly walked out of the room.

When Mei Jing saw him come out, she said gently, "Quickly, wash your hands and eat."

After washing his hands, Du Liangchen sat down next to Mei Jing, who was already waiting for him at the dining table. Looking at the two dishes and soup on the table, which looked and smelled delicious, he happily kissed Mei Jing on the cheek.

[A reward for you, are you happy?]

Mei Jing nodded blankly, pointed to her mouth, and said, "I'm happy, but I'd be even happier if it were here."

Seeing that he was acting innocent after getting the better deal, Du Liangchen raised her hand and lightly slapped him across the face. [Are you happier now?]

Mei Jing was stunned for a moment, then reached out and tickled his waist. "You dare to slap me? See how I punish you."

Du Liangchen was extremely ticklish, so he quickly dodged and ran away.
