Figure Skating: Waltz on Ice

Chapter 250: Date and Movie

Du Liangchen, who was in the room, was unaware that his grandmother had scolded his father because of his crying; he was washing his face.

Looking at the person in the mirror, tears streaming down their face, their eyes red and clearly showing they had been crying, a pitiful sight filled me with a deep sorrow. The words my father had just spoken echoed in my ears, and the person in the mirror grew increasingly resolute, their cold, deep eyes radiating a mysterious allure.

He hastily wiped the water droplets off his face with a tissue when he suddenly heard a melodious tune coming from his phone on the bed. He walked out of the bathroom and saw that the caller ID showed Mei Jing, so he answered the phone directly.

"Hey, sweetie~"

Hearing Du Liangchen's hoarse voice with a heavy nasal tone, Mei Jing's face turned serious. "Baby, are you...crying?"

"No..."

Mei Jing was even more certain that he had cried: "Liar! Tell me what happened?"

Du Liangchen sighed and said, "How come your ears are so sharp? It's really nothing, I'm an adult now! My dad just said some things to me, and I was a little touched."

"Baby, you scared me to death! I thought something had happened!" Mei Jing's tense shoulders relaxed slightly as she said gently, "I missed you, baby. Is it convenient for you to go out now? I'm at the entrance of your neighborhood."

“The gate to the residential area! How long have you been here? Why didn’t you tell me?” Du Liangchen stood up from the bed in surprise and opened the closet to look for clothes.

Mei Jing's aggrieved voice came through the phone, "Look, I've called you five times already, and you haven't answered!"

"Ah!" Du Liangchen exited the call and saw the 'five' above the red dot. He said apologetically, "Sorry, I didn't have my phone with me just now."

After quickly changing his clothes, Du Liangchen said to his family who were watching TV in the living room, "Mom and Dad, Grandpa and Grandma, Aunt and Uncle, brothers, my teammates want to celebrate my birthday with me. I'll be back a little later, so don't wait for me for dinner!" Then he went to the door to change his shoes.

Du Liangchen's casual crimson outfit didn't make him look bulky; instead, it accentuated his tall and imposing figure. He wore black headphones around his neck, and his thick, dark hair was partially hidden beneath a black baseball cap. His delicate and handsome face was on full display.

Du Langyu said to Du Liangchen, who opened the door, "Put on your mask and come back early."

"Okay! Don't worry," Du Liangchen replied before leaving.

He ran out of the residential area, slightly out of breath, and stood at the gate, his eyes looking around for Mei Jing's car.

A car pulled up beside him, and the driver rolled down the window and said to Du Liangchen, "Baby~ Get in the car!"

Du Liangchen walked around to the passenger seat, took off his mask, and asked, "How long have you been here?"

Mei Jing reached out and helped him take the bag off his back and put it behind him. Then she leaned over him, fastened his seatbelt, and gave him a kiss on his pink lips. Looking at his red eyes, she said tenderly, "As long as I can pick you up, it's worth waiting any amount of time."

Du Liangchen shyly urged him, "Hurry up and drive away, you're blocking the fire lane, be careful the security guards come and kick you out!"

As Mei Jing started the car, she said, "I bought movie tickets. Shall we go see a movie?"

Du Liangchen glared at him. "You've already bought it, so why are you asking me? Isn't that a bit redundant, huh?"

Mei Jing laughed and reached out to hold Du Liangchen's hand, kneading it. "Hehe~ We haven't gone to the movies alone in so long, is that appropriate?"
