That evening, Du Liangchen video-called Mei Jing, but his brows furrowed as he saw the call rejected on his phone.

"What do you mean? You're not answering my calls after we've only been apart for half a day?"

Suddenly, Du Liangchen realized that something was wrong with her. Mei Jing probably had her own things to do, and she couldn't act like a complaining woman.

He tossed his phone onto the bed, got up, and pushed open the door to the walk-in closet, where there was a small space filled with various musical instruments.

Sitting behind a guqin, his long, fair, and well-defined hands slowly rested on it, plucking the strings to play a serene melody.

Meanwhile, Mei Jing was applying medicine to her face while looking in the mirror when she saw the video call from Du Liangchen. She hurriedly hung up the phone.

Then she sent a voice message saying, "I'm not available right now, I'll call him back later." But after a long time, she didn't hear back from Du Liangchen. Mei Jing was a little uneasy. No one answered. She called three times in a row, but no one answered. Mei Jing panicked completely.

When Du Liangchen came out rubbing his fingers and looked at his phone again, he saw dozens of phone calls and a long string of voice messages, all from Mei Jing.

Du Liangchen didn't listen to the call; he simply dialed the number, and the other end answered immediately.

Mei Jing answered the phone and immediately apologized: "Baby, you finally answered the phone. Don't be angry, okay?"
