As night fell, the cruise ship decorated like a ghost ship at the dock sailed out to sea, carrying dozens of guests dressed as ghosts and monsters.

"Now, please find your companions according to the markings on your hands!" After saying this, the ghost captain disappeared from the ship again.

Kogoro Mouri turned to Sonoko and asked, "What is this 'mark' he's talking about?"

“It’s the tarot card you drew before you boarded the ship, Uncle.” Sonoko said, taking out a card to show Kogoro Mouri. “Maybe they’re going to group people who draw the same card together to play some kind of game.”

After hearing Sonoko's words, Kogoro Mouri also took out the tarot card from his pocket: "You mean, this card that says XV and has a goat on it?"

“The XV on it represents fifteen, and the image isn’t a goat, it’s a demon,” Medusa’s voice rang out, as she took out the cards in her hand. “This grouping isn’t for any game, it’s for film selection…”

Jiang Jin and Furuya Rei were also examining their tarot cards when they saw that both of them had the Death card marked "XIII".

"What brand is yours?" Jiang Jin turned to ask Vodka, scratching his head. "Uh, it seems to be the same as yours."

Rei Furuya put away the tarot cards and said, "So, what games are you planning to play on this ship?"

Jiang Jin smiled mysteriously, holding a tarot card in his hand. His skull makeup matched the Grim Reaper on the tarot card: "What's the rush, Ah Ling? You'll find out soon enough."

One by one, people have gathered their companions. The four people who joined Jiang Jin's group later and possessed the Death Card were a witch wearing a black veil, a demon with pointed ears, a pair of horns on his head, and a mask, a Pumpkin Jack carrying a pumpkin lantern, and a goblin with dark green skin.

Jiang's bloodshot eyes swept over the four people. As soon as he opened his mouth, his thin tongue fell out. Furuya Rei glanced at it and had an urge to roll up the other's fake tongue and put it back in his mouth.

“Four companions, it seems we’ll have to work together for the rest of the journey,” Jiang Jin said in a low voice. “Let’s meet up again when the banquet starts.”

Apart from the demon, the other three people responded politely. Jiang Jin glanced at the demon, then turned around, patted Furuya Rei on the shoulder, and walked towards the bar.

"Please give me a bourbon."

Rei Furuya sat down to the side, looking at Jiang Jin with a strange expression. The bartender brought over the bourbon with ice, and Jiang Jin picked up his drink and took a sip: "Don't get me wrong, I didn't mean anything by it. It's just that there's that famous detective on this ship. If he hears my code name and gets overreacted, wouldn't that ruin the fun?"

"Hmph." Furuya Rei snorted coldly, then said to the bartender, "I'll have one of the same."

The banquet officially began at 8:30.

The cabin darkened again, and Captain Gao De's voice rang out: "I believe everyone has found their companions by now. Please proceed to your respective rooms. Each person has a different task. The banquet will last for two hours. Please complete your tasks within two hours. After the banquet, those ghosts who successfully complete their tasks will be eligible to participate in the night banquet after midnight!"

The ghost captain's words immediately caused a stir among the ghosts and monsters on the field.

"Of course, those who didn't complete the task shouldn't be discouraged; you'll still receive prizes after the party. Now, please enjoy this 'bloody feast' that belongs to you all!"

Kogoro Mouri exclaimed excitedly, "Is this the movie selection process? It looks pretty professional!"

Medusa did not answer, but looked thoughtfully at the ghosts around her who were just as excited as Kogoro Mouri.

In the dimly lit corridor of the ship's cabin, Jiang Jin and Furuya Rei walked one after the other to their rooms. Each invitation contained a key to a room on the ship. Whether by coincidence or Vermouth's deliberate manipulation, Jiang Jin and Furuya Rei's rooms happened to be opposite each other.

Excluding the underground level, the cruise ship has four decks. The first deck has a banquet hall and other work rooms, the second and third decks are cabins, and the fourth deck should be the private space of the ship owner.

Jiang Jin and Furuya Rei's room was in the middle of the second floor. He opened the door and found that the room was decorated with a very scary atmosphere, with various candlesticks made of skulls, carpets stained with blood, and so on.

On the bed in the room lay a small, elegant leather suitcase. Jiang Jin opened it; inside were a letter and a gun fitted with a silencer. After reading its contents, a slight smile played on Jiang Jin's lips. He closed the suitcase and took out the gun.

"Miss Chris's arrangement of this game was indeed wonderful."

When Furuya Rei came out of his room, he saw Jiang Jin standing in the hallway. Jiang Jin tilted his head at him and whispered, "Have you finished reading the rules of the game?"

“I’ve finished reading. So that’s what you were planning. Using a game like Werewolf to act as the real killers. Even if you get caught, you can pretend you were just playing a game.” Rei Furuya closed the door and said, “Once the party is over, who will care about the life or death of strangers who just played a game on a ship?”

Jiang Jin grinned: "Let's warm them up first. The real hunting game won't start until after midnight."

"What is your first mission?" Rei Furuya asked.

"Me? I'll go to the banquet hall and mix a cocktail, then give it to the person holding the other cards," Jiang Jin said as he walked towards the stairs. "And you?"

Furuya Rei said helplessly, "I'm inviting a lady to dance in the banquet hall. There are no faction requirements."

Jiang Jin smiled enigmatically: "In that case, that witch would be quite suitable. However, let's go to the banquet hall to meet up first; they'll all be there."

In the banquet hall on the first floor, there were indeed many people gathered together, almost all of them holding the same card and talking in hushed tones.

Vodka, with a terrifying expression, walked down from the third-floor room toward the banquet hall. As he passed the workroom, he heard people talking inside.

"You mean that high school detective Shinichi Kudo? Wasn't it said that he was investigating some case and got killed?"

"No, I saw him write his name himself when I was signing in..."

Shinichi Kudo? Vodka vaguely remembered the name; it was one that Duago had mentioned. However, that wasn't important to him. He needed to hurry up and rejoin Duago and the others to complete the task his older brother had entrusted to him.

Jiang Jin and his seven companions, each holding a Death God card, gathered in the banquet hall. He deliberately guided the conversation, saying, "Since we're all on the same side, let's do our best to help each other complete the mission within two hours. What do you say? I'm sure everyone is most interested in the midnight banquet, right?"

“I heard this is for casting for the movie ‘The Ghost Pirate Captain.’ We should all be considered competitors, right?” the actor playing Pumpkin Jack questioned. “You’re not the kind of person who does things behind people’s backs, are you?”

Jiang Jin said with a half-smile, "If that's what you think, then there's nothing I can do. Of course, you can choose not to help, but we won't help you either."

“We’re not interested in what kind of actors we are, we’re just interested in this Halloween party. Sir, don’t judge us by our own standards,” Furuya Rei said, speaking up for Jiang Jin.

“I don’t think this young man means any harm,” the masked witch said. The demon remained silent but seemed to agree with her.

Vodka naturally sided with Jiang Jin, and the goblin, lacking any independent thought, nodded in agreement when so many others agreed. Pumpkin Jack, not wanting to be isolated, also finally agreed.

"My task is simply to mix a drink and serve it to the other factions' ghosts; I don't need your help." Jiang Jin looked at Furuya Rei. "But Kuro's task is to dance with a lady, so..."

All eyes were on the witch, and Furuya Rei nodded slightly in thanks: "I'm afraid we'll have to trouble you, Miss Witch."

"Oh, of course, no problem, it's just... I'm not very good at dancing." The witch's accent was a little strange, but no one thought it was a problem. Maybe this was a performance style she had deliberately designed?

Rei Furuya and the witch went dancing, while Vodka, Pumpkin Jack, and the goblin went to do a mission. Jiang Jin went to the bar to complete his task of mixing cocktails, accompanied by the taciturn demon who was with the witch.

“Mr. Devil, why aren’t you doing your mission?” Jiang Jin explained the situation to the bartender at the counter, who temporarily gave him the bar. Jiang Jin’s fingers traced the dazzling array of liquors on the shelf, and he picked out a bottle and placed it on the counter. The Devil glanced at the bottle; the label read—Rye Whiskey.

"I'm just traveling with others; I don't have an invitation, so all I need to do is help my companions complete their mission," the demon replied.

Jiang Jin continued to select wine, taking out another bottle of liqueur with a reddish color from the cabinet.

"What does Mr. Devil think of this party?" Jiang Jin asked casually as he opened the bottle of rye whiskey and poured the liquid into an ounce glass.

The devil leaned against the bar, scanning the crowd: "A trap."

Jiang Jin immediately laughed, as if he had heard a very funny joke. He mixed the liqueur into the glass containing the rye whiskey, then glanced at him and said with a smile, "How could that be? This is clearly a fun hunting game."

The crimson cherry liqueur flowed like blood into the amber-colored rye whiskey.

"We are the hunters in this game."

The demon looked at the prepared cocktail, a blend of rye whiskey and cherry liqueur, named "Hunter."

"Heh." The demon chuckled softly. He pressed down on the hand holding the wine glass, and with a slightly surprised expression, took the 'Hunter' from the other's hand, took a sip, and looked at him with deep green eyes behind the mask. He raised his hand and raised the glass to Jiang Jin. "But not everyone will be prey."

The demon put down his glass and walked toward the witch who had finished dancing. Jiang Jin stood behind the bar, his blood-red pupils staring at the tall demon's back, his tongue tracing a line between his canine teeth.

"We'll see, Shuichi Akai."
