Chapter 33 Master Dolan
"You know about this power?" Atto asked, somewhat puzzled, but then thought it made sense.
Ornn is the oldest demigod, having existed for ten thousand years. It is not surprising that he could sense the commotion coming from the south when Aurelion Sol descended and the ancient Shurima established the Sun Disk.
“That’s right, that’s a power I can never forget.” Orn approached Ator with the Starfall Iron Ingot between his fingers.
"Although I am called a demigod by humans, compared to that being, I am like a firefly compared to the blazing sun. I wonder if my brother would still have the courage to fight when he faces that being."
“…Only you would dare to tease Volibear.” Ato’s lips twitched.
"As you can see, this demonic sword of mine seals a soul that inherited the power of that being."
"However, due to an accident, this sword has become such a terrifying appearance, and it will occasionally leak its aura, causing the surrounding creatures to have unnecessary misunderstandings about me and this sword."
"Therefore I implore you, demigod Orn, to forge a scabbard for this sword, using this piece of meteorite iron from the heavens. When you keep the sword in its scabbard, it will be easily concealed. In return, I can do something for you. What do you say?"
Orn raised his thick eyebrows, looked down at the iron ingot he had just forged, and hesitated.
If I can forge a scabbard that can contain the power of that being, wouldn't that mean my forging skills are better than before?
But he still habitually refused, saying, "I haven't crafted anything for anyone for thousands of years, and besides, I have nothing to do right now. I just want to stay here and keep company with forging."
Ato sensed a softening in Orn's tone, so he quickly said, "You really don't want to take on the challenge? You usually forge whatever you want; how long has it been since you've faced a challenge?"
"I think even Master Dolan, who has received your guidance, couldn't forge a scabbard for this sword, apart from the demigod Orn."
"Dolan?" Ornn seemed to be touched.
"It's not a very old name, maybe less than a hundred years old. He wandered into my furnace village by mistake, endured the high temperature to watch me forge for a whole day, and finally fainted from dehydration."
"Seeing him is like seeing my earliest followers, the Lu family. I did teach him some forging techniques. How come he dares to call himself a master now?"
“You only taught him a portion of the forging techniques, but that was enough to make him a highly sought-after master in the outside world,” Ato explained. “After leaving Furnace Village, he went to the Land of First Birth in the East and settled down there.”
"Some people wait for decades just to get a weapon crafted by Master Dolan himself, but in the end, only a few can actually get one."
"Also, don't forget that you are an immortal demigod, while he is just a human. If he were still alive now, he would be an old man in his twilight years."
"At least he didn't embarrass me." Orn let out a long breath, bringing with him a strong gust of hot air that almost made Atto fly away.
"I'll use this piece of meteorite iron to forge a scabbard for you. You don't need to do anything else for me. Consider it a thank you for telling me about Dolan's recent situation, letting me know that the family lineage of the Lu family has not been broken."
"Huh?" Ato straightened his wind-blown hair. "That's it?"
"What, you don't want to?" Orn lowered his head, his bearded face close to Ator's, blowing gusts of hot air.
"If Dolan can make others wait for decades, it shouldn't be too much for me to make others wait for thousands of years, right? I won't make you wait anymore. Not everyone can have this kind of opportunity."
What a proud old man... Ato only dared to think it to himself and didn't dare to say it out loud.
"Willing, willing..."
Orn turned around, placed the forged meteorite ingot on the forging table, and then came to Ator's side.
“Before I begin to forge this magic sword, I need to study it a little,” Orn said, extending his enormous hand to Ator.
"Hey, calm down, don't provoke him," Aatrox whispered to him, before the Darkin Blade floated into Ornn's hand on its own.
"Hmm..." Orn raised his hand and brought the magic sword close to his eyes to examine it.
"Old goat, you've burned me!" came Aatrox's furious roar from the demon sword.
"This idiot..." Ato covered his face with his hands, "Can you please stop giving people random nicknames?"
"Oh? An interesting ancient warrior's soul..." Orn wasn't angry; he simply moved the demon sword further away and continued to observe it in his own way.
Ato peeked at Orn through his fingers, and seeing that he was still observing, he breathed a sigh of relief: "What a special demigod. Apart from being a bit withdrawn, his temper is absolutely amazing..."
Ornn's observation lasted for nearly ten minutes, during which Aatrox refrained from making any further sarcastic remarks, and Aatrox did not disturb Ornn.
After observing the sword, Orn returned it to Ator: "It's true that you can't just make an effect by crafting any scabbard. I need to use most of my energy to understand the changes in the materials and give the finished product some special abilities."
“You’re right. Only I in the world can forge this scabbard. If Dolan wants to have this ability, he’ll have to learn from me for another thousand years before he’s qualified to try.”
"Stay away, don't get caught in the crossfire."
Atto jumped far away, using a stone pillar as cover, but still maintained a distance from which he could visually observe the forging process.
Ornn approached the forging table, closed his eyes, adjusted himself to his best condition, then took a deep breath and exhaled a terrifyingly hot flame, reheating the previously cooled meteorite iron ingot to a red-hot state.
With his right hand, he took out the forging hammer hanging on his back, and with his left hand, he used pliers to hold the iron ingot in place. After heating it for a while, Orn felt that the temperature and timing were just right, so he decisively stopped breathing and brought the hammer down with his right hand.
when!
With rhythmic tapping sounds, the shape of the meteorite ingot changed again. Without any extra movements from Orn, the crimson ingot transformed into the shape of a sword sheath on its own.
The scabbard is sharp at the front, but the main body is straight and rigid, and it is not designed according to the shape of the Darkin Demon Sword at all.
"Is it really that well-shaped?" Ato frowned subconsciously. "And it's so big? It must be at least ten meters long... How do you carry it on your back? You could easily fit five magic swords inside..."
Of course, Orn couldn't answer Ator's question; his attention was entirely focused on the meteorite iron in front of him.
With the final hammer blow, the meteorite iron, now shaped like a scabbard, burst forth with unprecedented light. Ornn reacted swiftly, placing the forged scabbard into the cooling pool that had been prepared nearby.
Wow!
As soon as the hot iron block came into contact with the cold water, a large amount of white smoke was emitted.
When the white smoke dissipated, Ato saw Orn holding the specially made sword sheath directly in his hand; it really was ten meters long!
