When Henry returned to the hotel, he met Ashley, and the two brothers gave each other a warm hug.

Then both sides share intelligence.

Ashley's trip to find the farmers finally helped him understand why they had changed their minds. It turned out that Eugene Wegner had told them that the Cornish Group was interested in buying their farms at a 'high price,' and that they shouldn't rush to sell.

On one side were Western tycoons and local overlords, and on the other were powerless small farmers (they didn't know Henry's true identity, only Sadie and her group's past). Although they knew Eugene Wegner's words were unreliable, they could only listen for now, after all, they couldn't afford to offend them.

If Ashley hadn't led his men in armed and demanding questioning today, they wouldn't have known that the other side also possessed such formidable military strength. Unable to offend either side, they had no choice but to reveal everything.

After learning of Henry's plan, Ashley wholeheartedly agreed. For someone as single-minded as him, this was the simplest and quickest method, though it could be a bit time-consuming if not done well.

After deciding on the direction, everyone discussed the specific plan of the operation. In the end, Henry made the final decision: first, have someone keep an eye on the whereabouts of rancher Eugene Wegner, and then at night, Arthur and Lee Yi would be responsible for knocking him unconscious, tying him up, writing down the charges and making him sign them, then creating a scene where he was about to escape and fight back, and finally accidentally killing him.

If they're discovered, just kill them. It's just a little troublesome to deal with later anyway.

Night fell as expected, and everything went smoothly. Arthur and Li Yi lived up to expectations and successfully tied Eugene up.

Then, under severe torture, Eugene was forced to confess to his crimes and sign a plea. Finally, a staged charade was arranged, with a 'fierce battle' between the two sides, after which one of Ashley's henchmen killed him.

The intense gunfire attracted the attention of the residents and ranch guards. When they learned that Eugene, the ranch owner of Emerald Ranch, had resisted arrest and been killed, the residents were filled with mixed emotions. They were happy that the bully had been eliminated, but worried about what would happen to the ranch and who would pay their wages now that the ranch owner was dead. The guards, however, were more decisive; upon learning of their employer's death, they immediately fled.

However, Henry couldn't worry about them for the time being. He already knew they were from the Odrisco gang and would soon send people to settle accounts with them.

Henry was also surprised that Eugene had a partnership with Colm, frequently providing Colm with intelligence and money. Colm, in turn, was responsible for providing him with bodyguards and handling dirty business that he couldn't deal with himself. The previous grocery store owner was someone Eugene had his gang eliminate.

Eugene Wegner also facilitated the connection between Valentine's Clinic's private pharmacy and the organization. It seems Sheriff Malloy isn't as honest as he appears; he knew about Wegner's connections to the Orlando gang but didn't tell him. Was this a test of his abilities or a trap? It seems he needs a good talking-to when he gets back. If all else fails, he should replace him. With Henry's abilities, changing sheriffs in a small town shouldn't be difficult, it's just a bit of a hassle. And Henry is someone who hates trouble.

Henry led his men to Eugene Wegner's residence, where they had several sets of human bones dug up in the backyard. These were some of the people Eugene Wegner had murdered over the years.

He went up to the second floor and gently pushed open the long-sealed door. There stood a young girl, quietly gazing at the view outside. It was Eugene's daughter, Miriam Wegner.

Hearing the long-lost voice, she slowly turned around, a glimmer of light finally appearing in her calm eyes. Then, disregarding everything, she rushed out of the room and went to a tombstone behind the tavern, where she began to weep softly.

Henry stood silently to the side, and only spoke softly after Miriam finally stopped crying:

"Congratulations, you are free, Miss Miriam. Grief will always pass. Perhaps you should think about your future. I hope you won't blame me for causing your father's death."

“Thank you, stranger. Would you like to hear our story?” Miriam ignored Henry’s words and began to tell him her poignant love story with the boy in the tombstone, Joshua, about their meeting, getting to know each other, and falling in love.

Henry listened quietly without saying a word. He took out a bottle of fine brandy, poured two glasses, and handed one to her to warm herself. He knew she just needed someone to listen quietly as she recounted this poignant past. She simply needed to release the pent-up emotions of her long-suppressed loneliness.

As night deepened, Miriam finally said she was tired and lay down beside the tombstone, falling into a deep sleep.

Henry bent down and gently picked her up, then booked her a new room at the hotel.

The following morning, Sheriff Malloy personally led a team to deal with Eugene Wegner's case. Because there was both witness testimony and physical evidence, Eugene's criminal acts were irrefutable, making the process easy and without any complications.

The farmers were shocked to hear of Eugene Wegner's death. When Ashley and Sadie brought people to buy the farms, they readily signed the papers, even though they were no longer paying above market price.

After regaining her senses, Miriam thought about it for a day and decided to sell Emerald Ranch and her family mansion to Henry at cost price. She wanted to get away from this place of heartbreak and take the money to New York to stay with her cousin Annabelle.

At this point, it can be said that Henry has acquired most of the pastures and farms near Emerald Ranch, including the Heart of the Earth Overflow.

Make sure Ashley is well-prepared for any potential attacks from the O'Brien gang. During this time, he should stay close to Ark and Sadie and learn about ranch management. The bootlegging business is illegal and can't last; we need to switch gears, gain experience, and plan our future.

If you get bored, you can go hunting nearby or recruit people to rebuild the tavern in Emerald Ranch.

Henry left Zhang Wei and Kieran at Emerald Ranch to help Acker and Sadie manage the ranches/farms.

Henry did not dismiss the previous workers and farmers. Those who were willing to stay would receive half a percent more in compensation than before. If they were capable, they could even receive more. Of course, there would be regular assessments. If they failed the assessment, they would be demoted and given two chances. If they failed the second time, they would be dismissed.

However, Henry reorganized the planting areas of each farm to facilitate management and avoid redundant construction, and naturally, some adjustments were made to the personnel accordingly. Of course, these are all matters for later discussion.

After a few busy days, Henry, along with Lee Yi and Ashley, rode across the plains of the Heart of the Earth, went hunting several times, and then returned to Valentine.
