Jack Robert: A former cavalry captain, skilled in horsemanship and mobile shooting, he also possesses considerable long-range sniping ability and outstanding leadership and tactical thinking. Allie Johnson: A female bounty hunter, skilled with dual pistols and possessing exceptional marksmanship. She is intelligent, brave, and possesses a strong will and indomitable spirit. She once single-handedly pursued two murderers who murdered entire families across three states. She embarked on her criminal hunt after her daughter was harmed by thugs.

Tom Smith: Former sheriff in New Mexico, skilled in investigation and tracking. Experienced, insightful, and able to quickly assess situations and make sound decisions. An accident injured his left leg, leaving him with a chronic condition that prevented him from engaging in prolonged strenuous activity. Feeling unable to continue as sheriff, he resigned and settled in Blackwater with his son, making a living by fishing.

Henry Jones: A battlefield medic skilled in treating external injuries and wound infections. After retiring from the military, he frequently volunteered to help the wounded in churches, earning the respect of the surrounding poor. He also occasionally went out to collect herbs and ginseng to sell for money. His wife and children had died in the war, and he now has an elderly father to support.

Henry Allen was reviewing the talent profiles that William's butler had collected over the past month. The four people on the list were the most worthwhile candidates he had selected from the pile of information.

Henry planned to visit them in person and try to recruit them to form his own special forces squad.

Fortunately, William's butler had gathered very detailed intelligence, marking their general appearance, frequent locations, and means of livelihood. So Henry was able to find them quickly.

Henry first found Jack Robert, who was easily found at the dock near his pharmacy.

Jack Roberts is a man in his early thirties, tall and strong, exuding a calm and powerful aura. His face is resolute, with well-defined features and deep, sharp eyes.

“Jack Robert?” Henry asked, looking at the workers repairing the dock.

"Yes, sir. How can I help you?"

"I own the pharmacy and bar next door. Would it be convenient for you to come over and sit down? I'll buy you a couple of drinks."

"Alright, I don't know what you want to talk to me about, but for the sake of the wine, let's go." Jack Robert looked at the rich young man in front of him and felt that he did look somewhat familiar. Judging from his attire, he didn't seem like he was trying to fool him.

"My name is Henry Allen. I'm planning to form an armed squad, and I'm here to ask you to join my team. What do you think?"

Upon hearing about the armed squad, Jack Roberts' eyes lit up for a moment, but then quickly dimmed again.

“Mr. Allen, you may not know, but I am already married and have a virtuous wife. She doesn’t want me to live in the midst of gunfire; she just wants me to live a peaceful life.”

"Don't rush to refuse. Let me finish. I not only know you have a wife, but I also know she's pregnant and about to give birth. Have you ever thought about whether your meager wages from working at the docks will be enough to support your child after birth, whether you can provide a good life for them so they don't have to worry about having enough to eat every day? And are you sure this kind of mundane life is what you want?"

"Come work for me, and I can guarantee you a base salary of $100 per month. Your main task will be guarding the manor. If you need to go on missions, you'll receive additional compensation depending on the mission's outcome. Also, once the manor is built, you and your wife and children can move in together. I'll build some terraced houses for outstanding individuals, and later I'll also establish a primary school as the manor's children's first school."

Upon hearing Henry's terms, Robert could no longer refuse. Compared to his current life, who could refuse such offers? In the end, he simply said he needed to go back and persuade his wife, and would return soon to give Henry an answer.

Finally, she was persuaded to join Henry's team by his promise to avenge her and by his commitment to safety, efficiency, and a safe haven where she could start a new life when she was tired.

With this, the Allen family's armed squad has been initially formed, and more outstanding personnel can be added later.

Inform the four of them to meet tomorrow, and that the first mission will take place tomorrow night to help them get to know each other's abilities and define their roles within the team.

When Henry returned to his residence, he saw someone who was both unexpected and yet perfectly understandable: Slim Grant.

"It's all taken care of. It was because my deputy sheriff wanted to curry favor with Cornwall's nephew and take control of the police department. He sent an officer to betray my intelligence and cut off my support. I killed him and escaped."

"So what are your plans? Would you like to join my special forces team? You can continue hunting criminals as a bounty hunter. If you still want to be a police officer, perhaps I can recommend you to the Blackwater Police Department. However, you can only start as a deputy sheriff. What do you think?"

Henry gave Grant two choices, and whichever Grant chose would be good for Henry. In fact, Henry preferred the second option. Undeniably, Henry initially valued Grant's fighting skills and wanted to recruit him into the soon-to-be-established armed squad. However, having recruited four more elites today, along with the support of Flying Eagle and Ashley, he no longer lacked military strength. His real problem was his limited influence within the government, which he needed to develop.

"I don't know which side Henry needs me to go to, but I'm fine with either of them. They're about the same to me. I came here to rely on you, so you choose."

"Alright, I'll see if I can get you a deputy sheriff position in a couple of days. I'll provide you with intelligence so you can accumulate experience as quickly as possible. When the time is right, I'll recommend you for a district sheriff position."

"Tomorrow night, I have a mission to destroy a gang's stronghold. See if you'd like to participate."

With Ashley's men and Henry's armed squad, the force to conquer the bandits' territory is already at full strength. Even Henry himself doesn't plan to participate; he'll just go and oversee things. He brought Grant along simply to introduce him to his men. It wouldn't be fun if they encountered someone they didn't recognize and things went wrong.

“No problem, I’ll be there on time.” Grant didn’t hesitate. He had this in mind when he decided to come and seek refuge with Henry, not to mention that Henry had saved his life.
