After returning yesterday, Franklin began to recall the plot's progression. If the story hadn't deviated from its expected course, Mike should have met Dave soon. Mike was then tricked by Dave, but ultimately escaped death. While invincible in the game, this was reality, so Franklin felt he needed to do something! If he helped Mike in this mission, he would reap many benefits! First, Mike was his future father-in-law! Helping him was both morally and logically sound, and it would help him build a good relationship with Tracy's family! Second, his organization desperately needed someone like Mike. Mike was calm and collected, and although he prioritized his own and his family's interests, that was only natural! The better his relationship with Mike, the greater the chance of getting his help in the future! So this morning, Franklin felt the time was right and dialed Mike's number.

Just then, Mike was thinking about when to go see Dave when his phone rang. He took it out and saw it was Franklin, so he immediately answered the call.

Mike: "Hey, Franklin, what's up?"

Franklin: "Hey buddy! It's like this, I noticed you looked really unwell yesterday when that guy Trevor came in. I wanted to ask how you were doing!"

Mike: "Kid, you're pretty observant! To be honest, I was just about to deal with this today."

Franklin chuckled and said, "My friend, you know you're very likely to become my future father-in-law, so I don't want anything to happen to you! If possible, I hope I can help you!"

Mike thought to himself, "Although Dave is my partner, there's no guarantee he won't cause trouble after this jewelry incident. I'd better be careful!" So Mike said to Franklin, "Listen, kid, after everything that's happened, I choose to trust you! I'm going to see someone in a bit, someone you've met before! It's that agent who came to my house the other day—Dave Norton. I think he can help me with this. Come to my house, we'll go together, and I'll explain everything to you on the way!"

Franklin was pleased to hear that Mike trusted him so much, and readily replied, "Okay, I'll be at your house soon!"

Hearing this, Franklin, though already knowing everything, pretended not to know and asked, "So Trevor was your good friend back then?"

Mike: "I don't know! Franklin, do you think I'm a scumbag, a scumbag who betrayed his brothers!"

Franklin said to Mike with a serious expression, "No, you made the right choice! You are different from him! You have a family, you have children! So your choice is right!"

Mike: "Yeah, that's what I thought at first too, but I didn't expect..."

Franklin: "I never expected that Trevor, that big troublemaker, would not only survive but also be standing in front of you again!"

Mike: "Yes! You know what, Franklin, Trevor is a fucking lunatic, a psychopath! I have no doubt that if he knew the truth, he would do something horrible!"

Franklin: "Brother, I think you're overthinking it! There's always room for maneuver! The way he cared about Tracy yesterday didn't seem fake, which means he really cares about you! I believe that if you two have a good talk when the time is right, you might be able to resolve this!"

Mike: "Solved? Hopefully! Okay, we're here, the observatory! I'm going to find Dave. You wait for me in the car. Don't show yourself yet! I'm sure he'll make a big deal out of the jewelry incident last time!"

Franklin: "Okay!"

When Mike arrived at the observatory's observation area, he saw Dave and greeted him, "Hey, Dave!"

Dave, without turning around, said, "Mike! That news isn't good!"

Mike pretended not to know and said, "I don't know what you're talking about?"

Dave turned to Mike and said, "I know you did that damn jewelry robbery!"

Mike laughed loudly, "Old Dai, seriously, you're overthinking it."

Dave: "Go to hell!"

Mike admitted, "Okay! I did it! Arrest me!" He then stretched out his hands in front of Dave. Mike continued, "But you know what? This actually saved my life. Guess why, you bastard!"

Dave: "Why?"

Mike lowered his voice and said, "Guess!"

Dave slowly uttered two words: "Trevor..."

Mike: "It happened a few days ago! But we didn't really talk about anything."

Dave: "But if... he starts asking why you're not lying in a graveyard on the border, crawling around with bugs in the ground... oh! We're in trouble!"

Mike chimed in, "Yeah! Damn it! We're stuck!"

Dave suddenly said, "So... if your trouble is... my trouble! I guess that means... my trouble is also... your trouble?"

Mike: "Uh, uh. That's not true!"

When Dave saw that Mike didn't agree with this view, he said, "What if I lose my job? Someone will come to my office and start going through my file. Then they will know everything I've done. I know a lot of things. I can plead guilty and get a five-year sentence or something, but what about you?"

Hearing Dave threaten him, Mike angrily said, "What the hell are you! You ungrateful bastard! You should know that I'm the one who made you who you are today!"

Seeing that Mike was angry, Dave calmly said, "Okay... then we'd better work together to salvage this, because... you and I both know that we can't afford to mess this up right now!"

Mike said coldly, "What do you want?"

Dave pulled a photograph out of his pocket: "This guy is Ferdinand Komuff. The IAA claims he's dead, but we at the FIB think they're talking nonsense! We suspect he's been secretly placed somewhere."

Mike: "So?"

Dave: Obviously… the information he has would make me and my superiors and subordinates bow down in respect! Those bastards have already sealed off the forensic examination. We need you to identify that body!

Mike: "So, how the hell am I supposed to sneak in there?"

Dave: "Hmm, you faked your death before, right?" As he spoke, Dave walked behind Mike, pulled out his baton, and struck Mike hard on the head, knocking Mike unconscious instantly!

After Dave finished doing all this, he carried Mike's body into his car and drove away. Unbeknownst to him, Franklin had witnessed everything! Franklin quietly followed them…
