Chapter 94 (Empty Scattered) Reencounter (Extra Chapter)

"Wife, are you going to start something and then abandon me?"

Nasita's eyes crinkled as she picked up Lanbailijia and looked at the two of them. The wanderer, however, was somewhat anxious; he covered Kong's mouth. Kong had released his control over Nasita when she arrived.

"You idiot, who's your wife?" The homeless man was getting angry and cursed.

The dog looked incredibly aggrieved, its golden head nestled against the homeless man's neck like a spoiled puppy.

"You are. You even jumped into the World Tree while I was too busy to do anything else, thinking I had forgotten you. How could I forget you blushing when you looked at me..."

The empty head was pulled from his neck by the homeless man, and his mouth was covered. "Stop talking!" the homeless man's voice was tinged with resentment. Anyone could see the shame in his heart at that moment.

Kong wanted to speak, but the wanderer covered his mouth, preventing him from uttering a single word. Nasita looked at the two of them and laughed. Compared to the wanderer who used studying and tasks to numb himself, he seemed much more vibrant like this.

Although things didn't seem quite as she had expected, Narcida still smiled with satisfaction. Lamberica couldn't understand what the two Naras were doing, but it saw Narcida's smile. Knowing its Nara comrade hadn't been bullied, Lamberica felt relieved.

After a brief exchange, Nasita continued, "Let him come back to Sumeru with me."

“Okay.” The homeless man would rather be entangled in his thesis than stay here.

"No, he has to stay." Sora was unwilling; he had finally managed to hold the person he missed. He had just had too many things to do. Besides, the scattered soldiers had deliberately kept it from him. By the time Sora found out about his doll, it was too late.

Nasita was somewhat troubled; they couldn't agree. Seeing the two's determined gazes, Nasita thought for a moment and decided to persuade Kong.

"You can come to Sumeru to see him; I won't stop you. Besides, he's doing very well now. Moreover, forcibly keeping him by your side wouldn't be good for either of you. What do you think?"

Nasita's words were to the point, and Kong listened. He certainly understood how stubborn his little puppet was, and that he wouldn't get away with it if things continued this way.

Kong pondered for a moment, then nodded in agreement. The wanderer, seeing Kong's agreement, felt a surge of joy, yet a discomfort welled up in his chest.

After a while, Kong saw them off from the abyss. Before leaving, the wanderer felt Kong staring at him, but when his gaze met Kong's, he received a big smile.

"I'll come find you."

The homeless man chuckled, but his mood improved considerably.

Back in Sumeru, surrounded by the familiar green, Nashida first set Lanbailijia down. Lanbailijia thanked Nashida, then looked at the wanderer, "Nara'a is very good. Lanbailijia will explore with you next time. Now Lanbailijia will continue her training."

After saying this, the Lanaro left. The wanderer watched its disappearing figure and heard Nasita's voice.

"I'm sorry, I didn't expect things to turn out like this."

Nasita's small figure stood in front of the homeless man, who glanced at her but didn't seem to care much. He casually told Nasita, "I understand. If you feel guilty, then don't make me write the thesis."

Nasita noticed that the vagrant wasn't very angry, and then laughed, "That won't do. Writing papers is a difficulty that every scholar has to face."

……

In the sun-drenched forest, a figure wearing a hat followed the gentle spirit within him as he walked into the bustling city.

In the following days, the homeless man's life was somewhat peaceful, and Kong still hadn't come looking for him. The homeless man was a little anxious, but he still didn't look for Nasita.

In the library, the homeless man searched for the information he needed. After looking through many books, he finally found the one he wanted. Sitting down at a table in the library, the homeless man began to read it intently.

A blond boy dressed in the robes of a Sumeru scholar walked over and sat down next to the wanderer. The wanderer felt the person beside him, frowned, and tried to get up to leave, but was held down.

Turning his head, the wanderer saw that it was Kong. The boy's golden hair was eye-catching. The wanderer was about to say something when he saw Kong hold up a finger to his lips.

This was a library, not a place for conversation. The wanderer immediately understood; he picked up the books he needed with one hand and took Kong's hand with the other. They left the library together.

The wanderer led Kong straight ahead until they reached a secluded pavilion, where they stopped. The wanderer looked at Kong, unsure what to say, and after a long pause awkwardly asked, "What are you doing here?"

Sora smiled as he looked at the homeless man's awkward expression. He squeezed the homeless man's hand, and the homeless man struggled symbolically for a while before stopping, letting Sora pull him to sit on a chair by the pavilion.

I miss you. Don't you miss me?

The sticky creature approached the homeless person, looking incredibly docile. This was the kind of treatment only the homeless could receive.

The homeless man's cheeks flushed slightly as he muttered, "Who would want a troublesome fellow like you? You'd better have some self-awareness... Damn it, you bastard."

The homeless man suddenly cried out in surprise as Sora bit his cheek. There was no way he could resist; to Sora, the blush on his fair face reminded him of happy memories, and he couldn't help himself.

Seeing that his little doll was angry, Sora quickly pretended to be very aggrieved, "You went to the Abyss with other people and said they were your partners. What about me!"

The homeless man was somewhat speechless. "It's a Lanaro."

Kong started acting like a rogue, saying, "I don't care, you have to compensate me." He then hugged the homeless man tightly, refusing to let go. The homeless man, panting heavily, couldn't get the man off him.

Left with no other option, the homeless man, suppressing his anger, asked Kong, "So how do you want me to compensate you?"

Kong then released his grip, and then pulled out a bell made of deep blue sapphire and pure silver from somewhere. When he shook it, the sound was clear and melodious.

Kong's expression became more serious. He handed the bell to the homeless man for a look, then tried to tie it around his waist. The homeless man didn't stop him, letting him fiddle with it.

"This bell is called Tuledura's Memories. It's something I've kept. It has a beautiful sound. Would you like to keep it with you?"

The wanderer watched the empty bell's movement, and for some reason, he suddenly felt a strange sensation. It was like seeing a flower bloom, or like seeing a flock of sparrows land on his shoulder. It was strange, and he couldn't understand it. He simply felt a sense of peace, something he hadn't experienced in his years of wandering.

"Fool."

The homeless man's voice was soft, but it was still heard. Kong, feeling wronged, tried to explain. The homeless man raised an eyebrow and ignored him. Sunlight filled the pavilion, making it warm and inviting.

After returning to her lodgings in the evening, Nasita looked at the bell on the homeless man's waist and praised it with a smile, "The sound is very nice."

The homeless man simply tugged at his hat, his voice soft, yet carrying a happiness he had never realized he possessed.

"Given by an idiot."
