Chapter 25 (Knowing the Subtle) The traveler was somewhat confused, then he understood (Part 1)
The usually taciturn but surprisingly eloquent traveler maintained his composure: "Kavi seems to be spoiled. Do you have any clues, Elhesen?"
After finishing the academy competition in Sumeru, the traveler embarks on a new journey with her charm Paimon.
Not receiving the award wasn't what saddened Kavi, but his roommate had been acting more distant than usual lately. Their arguments had become more frequent.
After what seemed like the umpteenth argument with Elhesen, a furious Kavi stormed out of the house. Therefore, when presented with a new construction commission, Kavi agreed without a second thought, acting on impulse.
After calming down, Kavi carefully examined the details of the commission and realized that the location was actually in the forest. Recalling the trouble the Dead Zone had caused him during his last construction work in the forest, Kavi felt somewhat hesitant, even though the Dead Zone was no longer an issue. However, having already promised someone, he couldn't refuse and abandon the commission. He had no choice but to bite the bullet and accept it.
"Any rational person should know that you shouldn't lose consciousness in the desert. You even shared your water and food with those sand foxes; didn't you think about what would happen to you?"
Recalling Elhesen's accusations, Kavi felt wronged. But he knew Elhesen cared about him. However, he couldn't refuse to help creatures in need, even just a small animal; Kavi couldn't bear not helping them. Just thinking about refusing filled him with a overwhelming sense of guilt, threatening to drown him.
With the project deadline fast approaching and the client's hopeful gaze making it difficult for Kavi to refuse, he reluctantly agreed to go to the construction site immediately.
After packing his luggage for the short trip, Kavi pursed his lips but still left a small note for Elhesen, telling him that he would be in the forest for a while and not to worry about him.
After taking one last look around the house, a gray-green figure flashed through Kavi's mind. He didn't even realize a slight smile was playing on his lips before reluctantly leaving.
When Al-Hysen got home from get off work, he saw the note and frowned. He put the note down, looked around the room, and tried to guess what Kavi had taken.
"He's definitely a troublemaker." Elhesen thought to himself, then grabbed a few more things. He immediately headed to Huacheng Guo to find Tina, since the forest was damp and teeming with snakes, insects, and rodents. That idiot Kavi had rushed off again; it was better to get some professional advice.
The first stop for the Traveler and Paimon upon returning to Sumeru was Huacheng Guo.
"These are the moon lotuses you need. See if they're enough. If not, we can go find more. Also, what do you need so many moon lotuses for?"
Paimon, drifting around, spoke happily to Tinari, swinging his legs with delight at the thought of a good meal soon. Some weary travelers nearby nodded in agreement.
Upon seeing the moon lotuses, Tinari happily shook her large ears. "These are enough. I'm going to research new essential oils to nourish my hair."
“Sino is often in the desert, and last time I touched his hair, it was a bit dry from the sun. Cole has probably been studying too much lately; he's losing quite a bit of hair…”
When these two people were mentioned, Tinari couldn't help but become a bit talkative. A quick glance at the Traveler and Paimon's squinting eyes made Tinari a little embarrassed, then he seemed to suddenly remember something.
"By the way, Elhesen came to see me before. He and Kavi should still be in the forest. There are a lot of mosquitoes in the forest. Here are some spices for you. If you run into him, give some to Kavi."
He shrugged again, "It's okay if we don't get them, anyway, Elhesen has already asked me for some."
Seeing the bewildered expressions on Paimon and the Traveler's faces, Tinari touched his ear and said, "Anyway, Elhesen will take good care of Kavi. There are enough spices for many people. Keep some for yourselves, and if you encounter Kavi and the others, give them some more."
After saying that, Tinari turned and left to pack up the newly acquired materials. Seno's hair could still hold up, but Cole's hair loss was an urgent matter. The Traveler and Paimon exchanged bewildered glances, both wondering how Elheisen could be associated with the word "care." However, their curiosity was simmering, so they decided to go find Kavi, believing he could satisfy their curiosity.
The ecological environment of Sumeru has always been excellent. Lush trees stand straight on both sides of the road, and small animals rustle among them. The grass under the trees is also very thick, with occasionally some brightly colored flowers or striped mushrooms interspersed among them.
As soon as the traveler and Paimon reached the depths of the forest, they could hear some sounds.
"You actually came here to cause trouble!" The voice was strong, tinged with confusion and anger.
Very good, it seems that Kavi didn't suffer much in the forest.
The Traveler and Paimon rushed forward to help, but it was too late; the battle was already over when they arrived. The one who had just spoken was the blond-haired Kavi. Sunlight filtered through the gaps in the forest, dappling his hair and making it gleam.
After the battle, Kavi sheathed his greatsword and shook his hand. As if nothing had happened, he turned to Elheisen beside him and complained, "Can't you control these treasure-hunting gangs? How come we run into them in the forest!" Although he was complaining, his tone was very dependent, like a spoiled child throwing a tantrum at a family member.
“Use your brain and you'll know this isn't my responsibility. Perhaps you could ask Seno.” He sheathed his weapon and surveyed the surrounding area. Elhesen patiently responded to Kavi and noticed the travelers rushing towards them.
Kavi was the first to offer a welcome, "Long time no see! I didn't expect to meet you all here!" He waved, a bright and cheerful smile on his face. Elhesen responded in kind, "Hello."
Paimon, always cheerful, saw that there was no danger and flew over like a happy little bird. He didn't pounce on Kavi, but precisely targeted Mehrab.
Strangely enough, Paimon was initially startled when he first met Mehrak, but later grew to like him very much.
Travelers were naturally curious about the reason. Paimon said that Mehrab's expression was very interesting and that it was a complete product, making it an essential item for home and travel.
