Chapter 15 (Knowing the Secret) Elhesen is somewhat troubled (Part 1)
Elhesen had always admired Kavi's beauty. From his flowing, silky golden hair to his fiery red eyes, Kavi perfectly matched Elhesen's aesthetic from head to toe. So, the moment Elhesen saw Kavi, he was thinking about how to bring him home. And, to his good fortune, an opportunity actually presented itself.
There are two pieces of news. The good news is that Kavi has indeed moved into his house. The bad news is that Alhesen is finding Kavi's personality a bit too much to handle. Whenever Alhesen is kept awake all night by the sound of Kavi banging on his models, or when he brings a drunken Kavi back from the bar, or when bill after bill arrives... Alhesen is experiencing what distress feels like for the first time in his life.
However, things always take an unexpected turn.
01
The first thing that helped Elhesen get used to Kavi was seeing him busy in the kitchen when he left work on time as usual. It felt like a dream, a return to the past, to the time when he still lived with his grandmother. Elhesen was a very rational person, always maintaining extreme self-awareness, modesty, and clarity. But even the most rational person has beautiful, tender memories.
But when faced with dishes that didn't look like normal food, Elhesen's initial感动 (feeling of being touched) vanished instantly.
"I don't know how you managed to cook this. I doubt even a mushroom beast could cook it better." Elhesen commented on Kavi with a blank expression, his calm demeanor revealing no trace of the turmoil he had just experienced.
Upon hearing this, Kavi smiled somewhat guiltily, then, as if just realizing what had happened, she said to Elheisen with feigned bravado, "You don't thank me for cooking, and you even say things like that!" As if realizing she was in the right, Kavi complained to Elheisen with a hint of righteous indignation, "You...you...I think you should just go hungry!" Kavi said angrily, a faint blush rising to her delicate cheeks. What should have been a display of anger instead came across as a kind of coquettish tantrum.
To this, Elheisen refrained from saying anything that would further anger Kavi, and simply walked quietly to the kitchen. He prepared a more normal-looking dish, placed it on the table, and displayed utter sarcasm through his silent demeanor. It must be said, Elheisen could certainly infuriate Kavi at times.
This clearly angered Kavi even more, and his already delicate face flushed red. It was as if he felt embarrassed about the food he had cooked, or perhaps furious at Elheisen's silent provocation. In short, Kavi angrily went to his room, indicating that he didn't want to deal with Elheisen anymore.
Watching Kavi's departing figure, Elhesen remained calm. He sat quietly at the table, finishing his food as usual. However, after a moment's hesitation, Elhesen still ate the burnt-looking food Kavi had prepared. "I just didn't want to waste food," Elhesen thought to himself, a faint smile playing on his lips, a smile he himself didn't realize.
Then, Elheisen knocked on Kavi's door and told him he had left him food. After Elheisen left, Kavi opened the door. His first instinct was to look for the food he had prepared, intending to "dispose of the evidence." Seeing that the food on the table was gone, and it wasn't in the trash either, Kavi paused for a moment, realizing it had been eaten, but was still quite pleased.
So he sat down at the table to eat his dinner. After finishing the food Elhesen had prepared, Kavi pursed his lips, thinking to himself, "I'll cook better than you someday." He made up his mind silently, then obediently cleaned up the dishes. Back in his room, he quietly searched for cooking information on his Void Terminal.
From then on, Kavi began his arduous journey to becoming a chef. Elhesen, however, said he suffered greatly from this, though he was somewhat pleased and would even proactively keep ingredients in the refrigerator.
Afterwards, Kavi invited Seno and Tinari to his home for dinner. While the two were amazed by Kavi's cooking skills, Al-Hysen thought they were making a fuss over nothing and believed it was all thanks to his support of Kavi.
02
As a brilliant scholar of the School of Ingenuity, Kavi was extremely passionate about disciplines such as architecture and mechanical engineering. So, after moving into Elhesen's home, he naturally began to renovate it.
From the color and pattern of the carpet to the material and style of the tables and chairs, from the style and placement of large furniture pieces to the texture and pattern of small items like cups, even the placement of decorative objects of all sizes, Kavi wanted to put them where he thought was appropriate. Al-Hysen thought he would tolerate this decorating enthusiast for the time being, as long as Kavi didn't make the house as messy as his own room.
Strangely enough, Kavi initially wouldn't seek Elhesen's advice on designing the furniture for his home. However, one day, Kavi bought a mural he had always loved. While he was walking around the house, still undecided about where to place it, Elhesen, returning home from get off work, observed it and offered Kavi an unexpected yet flawless suggestion.
Following Elhesen's suggestion, Kavi then arranged the mural, which he found aesthetically pleasing. To Kavi's disbelief, the mural actually looked quite good even this way.
After observing him for a while, Kavi found that Elheisen's advice was sometimes quite interesting and he agreed with it. Therefore, whenever Kavi felt troubled by his designs, he would seek Elheisen's opinion. Almost every time, Elheisen was able to offer Kavi suitable suggestions. Of course, sometimes the two would argue about it.
“I still hope that your irrational brain can think about my advice properly.” Elhesen always managed to provoke Kavi’s anger with ease, and another puffed-up wind slime appeared.
Kavi's crimson eyes burned like flames, yet the anger on his face seemed to possess a vibrant and lively quality. "My idea was aesthetically pleasing, you... you bastard..."
While it might seem a bit morbid, Elhesen always found Kavi's angry expression amusing. Sometimes it was hard to tell if Elhesen was deliberately provoking Kavi. Of course, letting Kavi know this would only make him angrier.
But regardless, Kavi gradually got used to asking Elhesen for advice. Whether it was about his work or decorating his home, although it was sometimes hard to accept, Kavi believed that Elhesen would always give him a suitable suggestion.
"Ah, you're back! Come help me check if the painting is straight." This became the first thing Elhesen often heard when he returned home. However, Elhesen was still somewhat troubled whenever he received furniture purchase bills from Kavi. Even though Dolly had already ripped him off a lot of money, why was Kavi still so persistent in sending her money?
Al-Hysen felt troubled, but this trouble was likely to continue.
