Socially anxious people transmigrate to another world; living in seclusion is too difficult.
Chapter 356 Hallucination
Su Yang didn't want to stay in this disgusting place any longer, nor did he want to figure out what the slime was. He bent down some weeds, intending to use them to wipe the soles of his shoes. With one stomp, he heard a sharp crack, as if he had broken a dead tree branch. Su Yang didn't pay it any mind, carefully wiped his shoes clean, and then turned to Huang Lewei and said:
"I don't know what's wrong with this place, the ground is covered in slime, it looks disgusting. Let me help you, let's push the carriage backwards."
Huang Lewei responded and jumped off the carriage. When Su Yang came to his side, the two of them worked together to push the carriage backward. They thought it would be very difficult, since horses are much more difficult to move backward than forward, but they were surprised to find it very easy and did not even feel any resistance.
As the two were pushing, Tang Wan leaned out of the car window and said urgently, "Stop! Stop! Didn't you say we were going to back up? Why are we going forward instead?"
"Huh?" Su Yang and Huang Lewei stopped what they were doing at the same time, looked at each other, and then replied, "Moving forward? We're clearly pushing backward."
Huang Lewei mocked, "Yeah, are you hallucinating, Tang Wan? We're clearly pushing in the direction we came from, and look, even the horses are moving backward to cooperate with us."
Upon hearing this, Tang Wan was furious and frowned, saying, "You're the one hallucinating! We're clearly moving forward, and we're about to crash into the carriage in front of us. If you don't believe me, see for yourselves."
Following the direction Tang Wan pointed, Su Yang and Huang Lewei also noticed the problem. Su Yang said, "It's good that you reminded us, otherwise we wouldn't have noticed the big rock in front of us. It's okay, we can just go around it."
Huang Lewei chimed in, "Yes, it's good that you reminded me."
Hearing their words, Tang Wan's expression turned serious. She stopped the two of them and opened the carriage door, jumping down. Seeing this, Charles also hurriedly ran down from the carriage and followed Tang Wan to the carriage in front, saying, "Sister Anlan, what's wrong with Brother Su Yang and Huang Lewei? Are they really hallucinating?"
Upon hearing this, Lin Anlan also got off the carriage and came to the two of them. She pointed to the carriage and asked again, just as Tang Wan had said, but she received the same answer. For a moment, she didn't understand what had happened, so she could only stop the two of them from doing so.
Seeing that Lin Anlan and Tang Wan refused to let them push the carriage, Su Yang and Huang Lewei became anxious: "It's too dangerous to stay here. We have to leave quickly. Are you really hallucinating? How can you mistake that big rock for a carriage?"
Just as Lin Anlan was about to say something, Tang Wan's voice rang out first, but what she said surprised Lin Anlan: "It's not a big rock at all, it's clearly a tree as thick as a bucket, and you're still pushing it there!"
"How could it be a tree? It's clearly a rock!"
The three of them immediately started arguing. As they argued, they became increasingly agitated and paced back and forth. Each time they stepped on the weeds, a crackling sound would rang out. Lin Anlan's mood also became irritable. When she looked back again, she suddenly realized that the original carriage was gone and had been replaced by a dilapidated wooden hut.
She rubbed her eyes in disbelief, making sure she wasn't seeing things, and was shocked: "How could this be? Where's the carriage?" Turning her head again, she was horrified to find another carriage behind the one in front of her. She couldn't help but wonder: "Could it be that I just followed them around and ended up back in front of my own carriage?"
She stopped the argument and pointed to the second carriage in her line of sight, saying, "Let's go push that carriage first and get out of here."
The group looked in the direction she pointed, but there was no carriage there. Su Yang asked with concern, "An Lan, are you also hallucinating? There's no carriage over there."
Lin Anlan frowned, wondering how there could be none. But she knew that arguing like this couldn't go on. Just then, Charles's voice rang out. Lin Anlan looked over and saw that he had two pieces of luggage in his hands, which belonged to her and Su Yang. Charles said, "Why are you pushing that pile of wood? Isn't this the carriage? The luggage is in the carriage."
The group immediately started arguing again. Just then, the horse that Su Yang was driving seemed to be frightened and pulled the carriage forward. This scene startled Su Yang and the other three. Tang Wan exclaimed in horror, "How can this tree move! Could it be a ferocious beast!"
Huang Lewei: "That's a stone, isn't it!?"
Su Yang said, "No matter what it is, now that there's nothing blocking the way, let's get in this carriage and leave. Get in quickly!" With that, he climbed into the driver's seat, and the others had no choice but to do the same. They got in one after another, but Charles refused. Huang Lewei went over and grabbed him, forcibly dragging him into the carriage. With Su Yang cracking the whip, the carriage started moving quickly and sped forward.
The further he went, the darker the surroundings became, with tiny lights floating in the air like twinkling stars. Eventually, darkness completely enveloped the area, and the light could no longer penetrate the trees. Su Yang was starting to lose his bearings. Fortunately, he suddenly noticed a glimmer of light in the distance, seemingly guiding him. He immediately drove towards the light and, upon reaching it, discovered that the source of the light was a blue mushroom emitting a soft blue glow. The horses that had been galloping earlier had also stopped beside the mushroom, pulling their carriage.
In Su Yang's view, the carriage still looked like a stone, but the surroundings were too dark, so it was better to stop here for the time being, which would at least provide some lighting.
The five people got off the bus one after another and curiously studied the mushroom. No one knew what kind of mushroom it was. However, the ground here was not covered with that disgusting slime. They were all tired, so they found a place to sit down and rest near the mushroom.
A moment later, when Su Yang opened his eyes again and turned around to check the condition of the "stone", he found that the stone had somehow turned back into the shape of a carriage. He hurriedly called for everyone to confirm, and when they looked, they were overjoyed and unanimously confirmed that it was indeed a carriage.
Su Yang pondered, "It seems we've all been affected by illusions, but that's not right. Logically, I shouldn't be able to..." He swallowed the words back. He had wanted to say that after passing Linglong's illusion trial, it was practically impossible for any illusions to interfere with him. So why was he being affected by illusions today?
He then understood the reason. He had practiced the combined attack technique and tested it with the mist element. In addition, he had been traveling non-stop for the past few days, and his mental strength and elemental power had not fully recovered. As for Su Yang, because he had mastered many types of elemental power, the recovery of elemental power had to be done one by one, so the time required was naturally longer than that of others. He had only recovered to the third type, earth element, so far.
Lin Anlan also realized that they had all been under a hallucination, but they didn't know how. Tang Wan also came to her senses. She looked around and said with some fear, "Why is it so dark here? Wasn't it daytime when we entered the mountains? It hasn't been that long, has it? And what are those things floating in the air outside?"
