Transmigrating to the Song Dynasty: Water Margin Business Management

Chapter 23: Wang Zhiqiang's head was beaten into a pig's head

He was furious. He immediately rushed to Lü Wencai's residence to confront him.

Wu Yong stormed into Lü Wencai's study, angrily demanding, "Lord Lü, this is not fair of you! How could you give that piece of land in the west of the city to that scoundrel Wang Zhiqiang?"

Lu Wencai was leisurely sipping his tea when Wu Yong's sudden question startled him. His face darkened, and he said, "Hmph, I don't need you to tell me what to do!"

Wu Yong's eyes widened, and he said, "Lord Lü, how much bribe did you receive from Wang Zhiqiang? How dare you be so corrupt and abuse your power!"

Enraged, Lü Wencai slammed his fist on the table and shouted, "Men, throw this arrogant bastard out of here!"

No sooner had he finished speaking than two lackeys rushed in and, without saying a word, began punching and kicking Wu Yong.

Wu Yong was no match for these two burly men, and he was beaten black and blue in no time.

"Ouch! Stop hitting me! Stop hitting me!" Wu Yong covered his head and ran away in a sorry state.

The two lackeys beat him even harder, cursing as they did so: "Serves you right for meddling in other people's business! Serves you right for offending Lord Lü!"

Finally, Wu Yong scrambled out of Lü's mansion.

When Wu Yong returned to Zhao Tianming's residence, his miserable state shocked everyone.

Seeing Wu Yong's appearance, Zhao Tianming asked in surprise, "Wu Yong, what happened to you?"

With a mournful face, Wu Yong recounted the entire incident in detail.

Before Zhao Tianming could even speak, Li Kui couldn't hold back any longer and shouted, "Why bother reasoning with him? We should use our fists!"

Zhao Tianming frowned and said, "Li Kui, don't be impulsive."

Li Kui, with his neck stiff, said, "Brother, how can we not act impulsively? That Lü Wencai is bullying us too much!"

Zhao Tianming shook his head helplessly and said, "You're always so impatient."

Li Kui snorted and said, "Brother, I can't stand this! I'll go teach that Lü Wencai a lesson right now!"

Zhao Tianming quickly stopped him, saying, "Don't rush, let's discuss this further."

Li Kui's eyes widened, and he said, "What's the point of discussing this further? If we keep going, Wang Zhiqiang will have already built a house on that land!"

Everyone couldn't help laughing after hearing this.

Zhao Tianming said, "Li Kui, all you know is how to use force, but this problem can't be solved by force alone."

Li Kui retorted, unconvinced, "Then how do we resolve this? Are we just going to let it go like this?"

After a moment of contemplation, Zhao Tianming said, "We need to come up with a comprehensive plan that can both make Lü Wencai retract his order and ensure he receives the punishment he deserves."

On the surface, Li Kui obeyed Zhao Tianming's words, but secretly he decided to teach Wang Zhiqiang a lesson.

That day, Li Kui was alone in the courtyard, swinging his axe and muttering, "That bastard Wang Zhiqiang dares to be so arrogant. I, Li Kui, can't swallow this insult." The more he thought about it, the angrier he became, and he swung his axe with fierce force.

That night, Li Kui tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep, his mind filled with thoughts of how to deal with Wang Zhiqiang. "Hmph, I can't let him get away with this. I have to teach him a lesson."

Early the next morning, Li Kui quietly went out. He wandered the streets, inquiring about Wang Zhiqiang's whereabouts.

Finally, he learned from a little beggar that Wang Zhiqiang went to a teahouse to drink tea every afternoon.

Li Kui was secretly delighted, "Hehe, this is a great opportunity."

In the afternoon, Li Kui arrived at the teahouse early and found a corner to sit down. A short while later, Wang Zhiqiang swaggered in, just as expected.

Li Kui was seething with hatred as he looked at Wang Zhiqiang's smug expression.

After Wang Zhiqiang sat down, he called over a waiter, ordered a pot of fine tea, and leisurely began to drink it.

Li Kui seized the opportunity and quietly walked up behind Wang Zhiqiang.

He suddenly slapped Wang Zhiqiang on the shoulder and shouted, "Wang Zhiqiang, do you recognize me, Li Kui?"

Wang Zhiqiang was startled by the sudden slap, and the tea spilled out.

He turned around and saw Li Kui. He was startled, but he still tried to remain calm and said, "So it's Brother Li. May I ask what brings you here?"

Li Kui glared at him and said, "Don't think I don't know what you've done!"

Wang Zhiqiang said with a forced smile, "Brother Li, isn't there some misunderstanding?"

Li Kui wouldn't listen to his explanation. He grabbed Li Kui's collar and said, "Stop arguing with me. Today I'm going to teach you a lesson!"

Wang Zhiqiang turned pale with fright and quickly said, "Brother Li, let's talk this out, let's talk this out."

The commotion drew everyone in the teahouse, who gathered around to watch the spectacle.

Li Kui didn't care about anything else and dragged Wang Zhiqiang outside.

Once they reached a secluded alley, Li Kui shoved Wang Zhiqiang against the wall and said, "You little brat, you dare to go against us? Today I'll show you what I'm capable of!"

As he spoke, Li Kui raised his fist to strike.

Terrified, Wang Zhiqiang immediately begged for mercy: "Brother Li, spare my life! I'll never dare to do it again!"

Li Kui stopped punching and said, "Hmph, I'll let you off this time, but if there's a next time, I won't be so lenient!"

Wang Zhiqiang nodded vigorously, "Yes, yes, I definitely won't dare to do it again."

Li Kui released Wang Zhiqiang, turned around, and swaggered away.

Wang Zhiqiang watched Li Kui's retreating figure, wiped the cold sweat from his brow, and inwardly groaned, "How did I manage to provoke this devil?"

After leaving Cai Jing's residence, Gao Ke planned to go to Wang Zhiqiang's place for tea. He hummed a little tune along the way, feeling extremely relaxed and happy.

When Gao Ke arrived at Wang Zhiqiang's residence, he saw Wang Zhiqiang sitting in a chair. He looked terrible, with bruises all over his face and his eyes swollen like two walnuts.

Gao Ke was taken aback at first, then burst into laughter, laughing so hard that tears were almost streaming down his face. "Oh my, Brother Wang, what's wrong with you? Did you accidentally run into a ghost on your way out, or were you scratched by some tigress?"

Wang Zhiqiang looked miserable and mournfully at Gao Ke, "Brother Gao, please don't make fun of me, I've really had a lot of bad luck!"

Gao Ke finally stopped laughing and leaned over to ask, "Tell me quickly, who was so bold as to beat you up like this?"

Wang Zhiqiang said angrily, "It's still that Li Kui!"

Upon hearing this, Gao Ke couldn't help but laugh again, "Li Kui? How did you get involved with that troublemaker?"

Wang Zhiqiang said indignantly, "How would I know! I was just having a nice time drinking tea in the teahouse when he suddenly appeared and beat me up without saying a word!"

Gao Ke laughed so hard he slapped his thigh, "Haha, Brother Wang, you're really unlucky. You can't even get into this mess while drinking tea."

Wang Zhiqiang sighed helplessly, "What did I do to deserve this? I got beaten up for no reason."

Gao Ke laughed and said, "Maybe it's because you've done so many evil deeds that even Heaven couldn't stand it anymore and sent Li Kui to deal with you."

Wang Zhiqiang glared at Gao Ke, "Brother Gao, what kind of evil could I possibly do?"

Gao Ke teased, "You know perfectly well whether you've done something shady again and Li Kui found out."

Wang Zhiqiang quickly waved his hands, "No, no, absolutely not!"

Gao Ke looked unconvinced. "Come on, you think you can hide your little schemes from me?"

Wang Zhiqiang said with a worried look, "Brother Gao, stop making sarcastic remarks and quickly help me think of a way to deal with this Li Kui."

Gao Ke crossed his arms, shook his head, and said, "I wouldn't dare to provoke Li Kui. Good luck to you!"

Wang Zhiqiang cried out anxiously, "Brother Gao, you can't just stand by and watch someone die!"

Gao Ke said with a grin, "Why don't you go apologize to Li Kui? Maybe he'll let you off the hook."

Wang Zhiqiang looked reluctant. "You want me to apologize to him? That would make me lose face!"

Gao Ke shrugged. "Well, there's nothing I can do about it. You'll just have to keep living with that pig-faced look on your face."

Wang Zhiqiang stomped his feet in anger, shouting, "Gao Ke, are you still my friend?!"

Gao Ke smiled and said, "I'm only telling you the truth because we're friends. If you don't want to listen, there's nothing I can do."

Wang Zhiqiang sat there, thinking it over and over, and finally said helplessly, "Sigh, it seems that's all we can do."

Gao Ke couldn't help but laugh again, "Haha, Brother Wang, it's good that you've come to your senses. Hurry up and go. Maybe if Li Kui is in a better mood, he won't bother you anymore."

Wang Zhiqiang rolled his eyes at Gao Ke, then got up to apologize to Li Kui. He looked incredibly disheveled, while Gao Ke laughed so hard he couldn't straighten up.

Wang Zhiqiang snorted coldly and said, "I treated you like a friend, and you want me to go to Li Kui to apologize? You're deliberately trying to humiliate me."

Seeing that Wang Zhiqiang was truly angry, Gao Ke also became serious and hurriedly asked, "What happened?"

Wang Zhiqiang sat down angrily, picked up his teacup and took a big gulp before saying, "I finally got that piece of land in the west of the city, but somehow Zhao Tianming and his gang got their eyes on it. I hadn't even been happy for a few days before this mess happened."

Gao Ke frowned and asked in confusion, "Then what does this have to do with Li Kui hitting you?"

Wang Zhiqiang slammed his hand on the table and said, "How would I know! I guess Zhao Tianming and his gang sent Li Kui to give me a hard time and try to force me to hand over the land."

Gao Ke stroked his chin, pondered for a moment, and said, "Zhao Tianming has some influence in this area. Did you offend him?"

Wang Zhiqiang looked annoyed: "I just acquired a piece of land, why did Zhao Tianming have to make such a fuss?"

Gao Ke shook his head: "Brother Wang, you're thinking too simply. This matter probably won't be resolved so easily."

Wang Zhiqiang's eyes widened: "Then what should we do? Am I really going to hand over the land I've already got?"

Gao Ke offered a suggestion: "Since Li Kui beat you up, let's make him pay the price."

Wang Zhiqiang eagerly asked him if he had any ideas. Gao Ke whispered something in his ear, and Wang Zhiqiang nodded repeatedly, laughing, "That's a good idea."

Gao Ke's lips curled into a sly smile as he said, "Let's do it this way. First, spread the word that Li Kui is bullying innocent people and abusing his power. Then, find a few people we've bribed to file a complaint with the authorities and make a big scene. Even if Li Kui has Zhao Tianming protecting him, the authorities won't be able to ignore it."

Wang Zhiqiang's eyes lit up, and he said, "Brilliant! This way, Li Kui will definitely be in deep trouble."
