The fat man's "Run!" was still stuck in his throat when a smell that wasn't exactly fragrant but was extremely jarring suddenly wafted into his nostrils—it was a bit pungent, with an unnatural artificial fragrance, and smelled like...the kind of cheap insecticide sold in supermarkets?

"No, what the hell!" the fat man shouted instinctively, his mind still reeling. Tomb raiders always carried black donkey hooves, glutinous rice, entrenching tools, insecticide…

Wait a minute! Insecticide? Who would carry insecticide while tomb raiding?! Then, upon closer inspection, okay, it's Master Hua. Hmm, not entirely out of the question.

"The child brought it before we left because he was worried about cockroaches at the guesthouse." Seeing the surprised looks on everyone's faces, Xie Yuhua reluctantly explained that it was indeed something the child wanted to bring. He only remembered it because the child said halfway through the trip that if he encountered centipedes again, he would definitely try insecticide.

Surprisingly, it works quite well; at least these spiders are moving much slower now.

The white, silky threads that had been spreading wildly upwards like living things noticeably slowed down upon contact with the insecticide mist. They seemed to have encountered something they utterly loathed; their tips twisted and curled, their upward momentum halted. Even the threads on Wu Xie's body, which were tightening, seemed to lose some of their vitality, becoming slightly looser.

"Hey! It really works!" the fat man exclaimed in surprise, almost wanting to give Xie Yuhua a thumbs up. "Brother Hua, spray more! Give them a real eye-opener!"

Wu Xie also caught his breath and took the opportunity to tear off many of the softened threads from his body. It was Ling Xiao, so that made sense.

Ah Ning's tense nerves relaxed slightly. Looking at the white wave below, which had been temporarily suppressed, she knew that if it weren't for the accidental use of insecticide, they would probably have had to resort to the most violent and destructive method—fire. But the situation below was unknown; if there were any important clues or artifacts, a single fire would leave nothing behind. Fortunately, although the smell was pungent, it preserved a sliver of hope. She secretly decided that next time she went underground, she would definitely bring two bottles of highly effective insecticide; this stuff was more useful than a gun in certain situations.

"Don't just stand there. This thing is only temporarily stunned. We'll have to rely on ourselves to break this deadlock," Xie Yuhua reminded, while quickly scanning her surroundings.

The fat man immediately understood, his sharp eyes spotting several pottery urns that appeared to be burial objects piled up not far away. They were quite large, and the seals were still relatively intact. "These are the ones!"

The group acted quickly, not bothering to investigate what was originally inside the earthenware jar. Together, they rolled the two heaviest and best-preserved pieces over, carefully aimed them at the crack that was still emitting wisps of white steam, and pressed them down heavily.

The mouth of the urn almost completely covered the opening, leaving only a few tiny gaps at the edges. After doing all this, the group hurriedly filled the gaps around the urn with loose soil and gravel to seal it as much as possible.

"Done!" The fat man dusted off his hands and let out a long breath. "No matter what kind of spider demon or silkworm is down there, in front of chemical weapons, dragons have to coil up and tigers have to lie down! Let's make it drink a couple of ounces and take a nap first!"

The unsettling rustling sound at the bottom of the cave seemed to have been largely blocked out, with only extremely faint friction sounds occasionally coming through the poorly sealed gaps, indicating that what was below had not completely stopped moving, but its momentum had clearly been curbed.

It's safe for now.
