Transmigrating to become Hua Qiangu

Chapter 72 Crisis Strikes Again, True Feelings Remain Stronger

The group continued their journey towards safety, their trials only deepening their bond. That day, dark clouds filled the sky, like a massive black curtain pressing down on the earth, threatening to engulf everything. A fierce wind howled, like a runaway beast, raging across the land and mercilessly tearing at their clothes. The air became oppressively heavy, as if an invisible hand were gripping their throats, making every breath filled with unease.

"This sky looks really eerie; it feels like something big is about to happen," Dongfang Yuqing said with a frown and a worried expression. His eyes revealed a hint of vigilance as he kept scanning his surroundings.

"Everyone, be on your guard, we're probably in trouble again." Bai Zihua gripped his sword tightly, his expression as solemn as frost. The sword seemed to sense its master's tension, trembling slightly, its cold light flashing ominously in the gloomy sky.

Hua Qiangu looked at You Ruo and Tang Bao, her eyes full of concern and worry. She whispered, "You two stay close to me and don't wander off, okay?"

"Yes, Master, we understand!" You Ruo nodded obediently, her little hands tightly gripping Hua Qiangu's clothes. Although there was nervousness on her face, there was even more trust in her master. Tang Bao chimed in from the side, "Mommy, I will be very careful." Its little body trembled slightly, but it tried its best to appear brave.

Sha Qianmo looked around, a resolute look appearing on his beautiful face. He said loudly, "No matter what comes, we can't be afraid. I'm here!" His clothes fluttered in the wind, exuding a powerful aura.

Ni Mantian snorted, "Who's afraid? Come on then!" However, her slightly trembling lips betrayed her inner tension, and a hint of panic flashed in her eyes.

Just then, a gust of wind howled past, carrying with it an eerie whistling sound, like the mournful cries of demons from hell, sending chills down everyone's spines. Immediately afterward, a flock of strange-looking birds swooped down from the clouds like lightning. They were enormous, blotting out the sun, their wings whipping up gusts of wind that nearly knocked everyone off their feet. Their sharp beaks, like blades, gleamed coldly in the dim light, like the scythe of death. Their eyes gleamed with a fierce light, their gazes like tangible arrows, piercing straight into the group as if to instantly destroy them.

"Wow, what kind of monsters are these?" You Ruo exclaimed, her voice ripped apart by the strong wind, her eyes filled with terror, her face pale with fright.

"Whatever it is, prepare for battle!" Shuofeng shouted, picking up his weapon and standing ready. Fine beads of sweat had already formed on his forehead, but his eyes remained resolute.

The birds charged towards the crowd like raindrops, instantly unleashing a fierce and terrifying melee. They were incredibly fast, weaving through the crowd like black lightning, their sharp beaks and claws launching relentless attacks.

Ni Mantian brandished her sword, shouting as she fought, "These guys are so annoying! I'll knock you all down!" Her voice held a hint of anger and fear as she wielded her sword, creating a series of dazzling swordplays to try and deflect the birds' attacks. But the birds were too fast; her attacks often only grazed their sides. Suddenly, a bird swooped down from her side. She quickly dodged, but was still struck by its wing and nearly fell.

Hua Qiangu shouted, "Everyone, be careful to protect yourselves and cooperate with each other!" She brandished her weapon continuously, engaging in fierce combat with the birds. However, there were too many birds, and she gradually became overwhelmed.

A bird swooped down towards Hua Qiangu. You Ruo rushed over and attacked the bird with her small spell: "Master, I'm here to help you!" Her spell transformed into a faint beam of light that shot towards the bird, but the bird only paused slightly before continuing its charge towards Hua Qiangu. Seeing this, You Ruo gritted her teeth and launched another attack, her eyes filled with determination.

Tangbao also spat out silk threads, trying to entangle the bird's claws: "Mother, be careful!" The silk threads swayed in the wind and barely managed to entangle one of the bird's claws, but the bird struggled and the silk threads broke.

Sha Qianmo unleashed a dazzling spell, shooting a massive beam of light towards the flock of birds: "Hmph, get out of my way!" The light, like a blazing sun, illuminated the dim sky. The birds, struck by the light, let out cries of agony, but they did not retreat; instead, they attacked even more frantically.

During the battle, several birds broke through the defenses and rushed towards Ni Mantian. Ni Mantian panicked for a moment and was scratched on the arm by the sharp beak of one of the birds.

"Ah!" Ni Mantian cried out in pain as blood gushed from her wound, staining her clothes crimson. The vivid red stood out starkly against the gloomy sky.

Upon seeing this, Hua Qiangu immediately rushed over, repelled the flying birds, and helped Ni Mantian up: "Ni Mantian, how are you?" Her eyes were full of anxiety.

"I'm fine, don't worry about me, keep fighting!" Ni Mantian said through gritted teeth. Her face was pale from the pain, but her eyes remained stubborn.

But her movements were noticeably slower due to her injury, and several more birds of prey circled around her. They hovered in the air, emitting sharp cries, as if celebrating their imminent prey.

"Ni Mantian, watch out!" Shuofeng shouted, trying to rush over to help. He moved swiftly, but he was still some distance away from Ni Mantian.

At this critical moment, a beam of light appeared in Hua Qiangu's hand, transforming into a sturdy barrier that stood in front of Ni Mantian, repelling all the flying birds. The barrier shimmered with dazzling light, like a sacred shield protecting Ni Mantian.

"Hmph, you want to hurt her? No way!" Hua Qiangu shouted, her eyes burning with fury.

With everyone working together, after a fierce battle, they finally repelled the flock of birds. Everyone was exhausted and panting, and many had injuries.

Everyone sat down to rest. Hua Qiangu took out the spiritual spring and pills and handed them to Ni Mantian: "Ni Mantian, you are injured. Take this and it will help you get better quickly."

Ni Mantian hesitated for a moment: "What is this? I don't want your things." Her eyes held a hint of stubbornness and doubt.

Hua Qiangu smiled and said, "Don't be stubborn. This will help heal your wounds. Eat it." Her eyes were sincere and warm.

Looking into Hua Qiangu's sincere eyes, Ni Mantian accepted the spiritual spring and the pills and swallowed them. After eating, she suddenly felt a warm current flowing through her body. Not only did the wound on her arm heal rapidly, but even the hidden injuries left from her previous cultivation began to slowly recover. Moreover, there seemed to be a pure spiritual energy in her body, making her feel more comfortable than ever before.

"What...what's going on?" Ni Mantian asked in surprise. She could feel her power increasing, and her body had never felt so light.

Hua Qiangu smiled and said, "This is a good thing. It can help you recover from your injuries and also enhance your spiritual energy."

Ni Mantian looked at Hua Qiangu, a complicated expression flashing in her eyes: "Hua Qiangu, why did you help me? I treated you like that before..." Her voice trembled slightly, her heart filled with guilt.

Hua Qiangu patted her on the shoulder: "It's all in the past. We're friends now, and friends should help each other."

Shuofeng laughed and said, "Yes, Mantian, Hua Qiangu is genuinely good to you, so don't dwell on the past anymore."

Ni Mantian lowered her head and whispered, "Thank you, Hua Qiangu. I... I was so foolish before." Tears welled up in her eyes.

"Haha, let's not talk about that anymore. Let's keep going. Safe places are still ahead!" Dongfang Yuqing laughed, breaking the somewhat heavy atmosphere.

The group embarked on their journey once again. After this incident, the relationship between Ni Mantian and Hua Qiangu became even closer. They also knew that more challenges awaited them ahead, but they were no longer afraid because they had each other.

As they walked, an ancient castle appeared ahead, shrouded in an aura of mystery. The castle stood silently, like a colossal beast that had slumbered for millennia, exuding an ancient and enigmatic aura. Its tall, sturdy walls, covered in the marks of time, seemed to whisper tales of past glory and vicissitudes.

"Wow, this castle looks so mysterious! Could there be some treasure inside?" You Ruo said curiously. Her eyes sparkled with curiosity about the unknown.

"You Ruo, don't get any ideas. Places like this often hide great dangers," Bai Zihua warned. His gaze was deep as he looked at the castle, as if trying to pierce through the thick walls and see everything inside.

"Hmph, no matter what dangers we face, we can handle them. Let's go in and take a look!" Sha Qianmo said, leading the way towards the castle. His steps were firm and fearless.

The group cautiously entered the castle, which was eerily quiet. Ancient portraits hung on the walls, their eyes seemingly watching them intently, following them wherever they went, sending chills down their spines. Dim light filtered through small windows high up, casting dappled shadows on the floor like ghosts lurking in the darkness.

"It feels so eerie here, I'm a little scared." Tang Bao clung tightly to Hua Qian Gu's arm. Its small body trembled, and its voice was trembling with fear.

"Don't be afraid, Tang Bao, we're here for you," Hua Qiangu comforted her. She gently stroked Tang Bao's head, trying to calm it down, but a sense of unease also welled up in her own heart.

Suddenly, heavy footsteps echoed through the castle, as if something enormous was approaching. Each footstep struck a chord in everyone's hearts, causing their heartbeats to quicken involuntarily.

"Everyone be careful, something's coming!" Shuofeng said warily. He gripped his weapon tightly, leaned forward slightly, and prepared for battle.

A colossal gargoyle slowly emerged from the darkness, its massive form almost touching the castle's dome. Its enormous wings flapped slightly, stirring up a foul stench. It possessed sharp claws, each one like a giant scimitar, carving deep gashes into the ground. A low, guttural roar echoed through the castle like thunder, jarring the eardrums of everyone present.

"What kind of monster is this? It's terrifying!" Ni Mantian gripped her weapon tightly, her voice trembling slightly. Her palms were sweaty, and her eyes were filled with fear.

"Whatever it is, attack together!" Hua Qiangu shouted, and everyone threw themselves into the battle once more...

During the battle with the gargoyle, everyone discovered that this monster was exceptionally powerful. Its scales were incredibly hard, and ordinary attacks could not harm it at all. Weapons striking the scales would only produce a series of sparks, while the gargoyle remained completely unscathed.

"This won't do, we have to find its weakness!" Dongfang Yuqing shouted. His eyes revealed a hint of anxiety, and veins bulged on his forehead as he racked his brains for a solution.

Hua Qiangu carefully observed the gargoyle and suddenly noticed a faint light flickering in its eye area, like the core of some kind of energy. Although the light was weak, it was particularly conspicuous in the darkness.

"Attack its eyes!" Hua Qiangu shouted. She shot a beam of light from her weapon toward the gargoyle's eyes.

The crowd launched attacks on the gargoyle's eyes, which enraged it further, causing it to wildly swing its claws. Its roar was deafening, and the entire castle seemed to tremble.

"Ah!" You Ruo couldn't dodge in time and was grazed by the gargoyle's claws. Her clothes were torn, and blood seeped out, causing tears to well up in her eyes from the pain.

"You Ruo!" Hua Qiangu was frantic with worry and wanted to rush over to save her. Her eyes were filled with fear and heartache.

Sha Qianmo stopped Hua Qiangu: "Little one, you continue attacking, I'm going to save You Ruo!" With that, Sha Qianmo used magic to block the gargoyle's attack and rescued You Ruo. His eyes burned with anger, and the magic in his hands became even more fierce.

With everyone's combined attack, the gargoyle's eye was finally struck. It let out a scream and collapsed to the ground with a thud. As its massive body fell, it raised a cloud of dust, and the entire castle seemed to tremble.

"Phew, we finally beat it." Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. They were all exhausted, but their eyes held the satisfaction of overcoming a difficult challenge.

Hua Qiangu hurriedly checked You Ruo's injuries. Fortunately, it was just a scratch and nothing serious. She tenderly bandaged You Ruo's wound, saying, "You Ruo, you scared me to death! You must be careful in the future."

"Master, I understand. I will be more careful in the future," You Ruo said obediently. She endured the pain, not wanting to worry her master.

The group continued their exploration of the castle, discovering numerous mysterious rooms and passageways, each concealing unknown secrets and dangers. Strange runes adorned the walls, seemingly telling ancient stories, while mysterious traps occasionally appeared on the floor, threatening danger if one was not careful.

In a room, they discovered an ancient book emanating a mysterious light. The light was soft and enigmatic, as if possessing a magical power that drew everyone's attention.

"What kind of book is this? It looks quite unusual." Hua Qiangu picked up the book and examined it carefully. Her fingers gently stroked the cover, sensing an ancient aura.

"Be careful, don't touch anything inside, there might be a curse," Bai Zihua warned. His eyes were filled with caution as he stared intently at the book.

Just then, the book suddenly emitted a beam of light, enveloping Hua Qiangu. Hua Qiangu felt as if she had entered a mysterious space, surrounded by strange scenes that seemed to be telling an ancient story. The characters and scenes in the pictures were lifelike, yet they exuded a mysterious aura that was hard to fathom.

"What's going on? Where am I?" Hua Qiangu cried out in a panic. She tried to break free from the light's restraints, but to no avail.

"Mother, Mother! What's wrong?" Tangbao called anxiously from outside. It flew around the light, its eyes full of worry.

The crowd surrounded Hua Qiangu, trying to wake her, but Hua Qiangu was immersed in that mysterious space and could not extricate herself...

They didn't know what changes this mysterious space would bring to Hua Qiangu, nor how many dangers awaited them in the castle, but they didn't give up and continued to explore the castle in order to survive and find a way to safety.

Deep within the castle, a mysterious force seemed to be calling to them. Was it hope or another, greater crisis? They could only move forward step by step, facing it with courage and wisdom.
