HP: The Root of Everything - The Magician
Chapter 4 Capturing the Wizard
Teach was engrossed in his research in the magic workshop, analyzing everything in the enormous laboratory based on the 'Alchemy Circle' described in his magic book.
No one can resist mysterious knowledge that is right before their eyes.
The unknown always attracts people's curiosity and thirst for knowledge.
Time seemed to stand still for a moment until the alloy door opened, bringing Teach back to his senses. Looking up, he saw that the lawyer had used a spell to open the door, and he was holding a magic wand.
The lawyer's sudden intrusion was dangerous for Teach, who had just turned Xanton Carl into an emerald, because he hadn't yet come up with an excuse for Croton's gruesome death.
Teach tucked the magic book into his pocket, placed his hands on the pistol behind his waist, and prepared to kill him if anything went wrong.
The lawyer, wand in hand, approached Teach, his eyes fixed on the now-empty wheelchair. He sighed and muttered to himself, "Mr. Croton, you still couldn't resist the allure of knowledge and ended up like this?"
[Knowledge?] After hearing the lawyer's mutterings, Teach understood. Clearly, this unknown lawyer knew about the Carl family's research.
Just as Teach was deep in thought and preparing to strike, his lawyer said to him, "Mr. Teach Carl, don't be nervous. Please put down your weapon."
"I am merely a wizard hired by England, entrusted by Mr. Croton with the private transfer of his estate; I will not concern myself with anything beyond that."
"...Or perhaps, at such close range, you want to test whether your gun is faster or my silent spellcasting is faster?"
Seeing that Teach had shown his hands after explaining, the lawyer put away his wand, took out the completed property transfer documents, handed them to Teach, and then used 'Apparition' to instantly leave.
Having witnessed firsthand this method of instantaneous movement over obstacles, Teach felt a great sense of vigilance and danger.
It's important to know that the Aurors from the Ministry of Magic, disguised as merchants, are still eyeing the Cal family's legacy.
It's obvious that what they're looking for is the magic book.
No, we can't let them keep an eye on us. We need to find an opportunity to take care of them.
After studying the gem-transforming array and chemical equipment in the laboratory, Teach left the basement. He immediately summoned the butler and began to familiarize himself with the extent of his inherited wealth and property.
After he finished, Teach called Corey Bab from his bedroom on the top floor of the castle and asked him to come over and sell off all the property.
Then, Teach paid to silence the servants and began to arrange Croton Carr's funeral.
In just one day, the father was laid to rest.
The next day, Corey Bab arrived and, after learning that Teach had inherited a huge fortune, didn't ask any further questions.
After leaving an account for Corey to transfer the money after selling his property, Teach quietly left the castle with his suitcase. After some restlessness, he went to a weapons shop disguised as a convenience store and bought a large quantity of explosives.
Teach then returned to Croton's graveyard, and after confirming that no one was around, buried explosives nearby, waiting for his prey to arrive.
It took Teach four days to complete this series of tasks, and he was exhausted.
Next, Teach chose a sniping location at a high tower 500 meters away from the cemetery, waiting for the two Ministry of Magic Aurors to come and dig up the graves for what they wanted.
With him, who has already inherited the Carl family's legacy, there naturally needs to be bait in Croton's coffin.
During the burial, Teach placed the magic book inside the coffin in full view of everyone (it was a fake burial), just to show the Aurors.
As he stood motionless, gun in hand, waiting, it was already 3 a.m.
Finally, Teach's target appeared.
Through the magnifying glass, two Auror wizards appeared out of thin air in front of Croton's tombstone, then took out their wands and moved the dirt away.
When the coffin was opened, the two Auror wizards were surprised to find it empty. Teach seized the opportunity and immediately opened fire.
Five hundred meters can be covered in an instant at the speed of sound of a bullet.
Wizards are a secret group of beings detached from society and technology. They live in a magical world and have a strong aversion and contempt for everything that is considered Muggle, forever remaining isolated and self-enclosed.
This sniper bullet, unsurprisingly, claimed the life of the rookie Auror wizard.
After firing the first shot, Teach did not fire a second. He did not believe that a second shot would hit the wary wizard.
Teach took out the remote detonator for the bomb and, just as Os was recovering from the death of his new companion and trying to use Apparition to escape, he pressed it without hesitation.
'Boom boom boom...' Several violent explosions completely overturned the poor graveyard in Kexton.
Before the explosions had even ended, Teach pulled out another detonator and detonated all the buried bombs.
After the detonation was completed, Teach immediately picked up an infrared telescope and began anxiously searching for the presence of Os in the explosion.
"......good"
A humanoid heat source appeared in the infrared telescope, and Teach couldn't help but shout out at the discovery. The prey had already been injured, and Teach's heart, which had been pounding in his chest, instantly settled.
It's no wonder Teach was apprehensive; if he hadn't captured the Auror wizards in time and allowed them to escape using Apparition, the consequences would have been unbearable for him.
He seizes the mind, pierces the heart and wrist bones, and finally Avada takes the life.
This is the death consequence that Teach Carl will face.
After the gunpowder smoke from the explosion was dispersed by the night wind, Teach raised his sniper rifle and aimed at Os, who was severely injured by the explosion and was protected by the 'Armor Protection' magic shield, and fired several shots.
To ensure that the wand he dropped nearby was completely destroyed by the bullet and rendered unusable.
Then, he pulled the trigger again, piercing Os's struggling hands to prevent him from casting spells without a staff.
After repeatedly confirming through the scope that Oss was no longer a threat, Teach quickly rushed to the gravesite.
We can't let Os bleed to death.
A few minutes later, Teach looked at Os, who was still conscious on the ground, and couldn't help but marvel that the 'wizard' was really not an ordinary person; his vitality was so strong that it was beyond human capabilities.
[With such severe injuries and blood loss, he's still alive.]
Not daring to linger, Teach quickly stopped the bleeding and treated Os's injuries, then put a body bag over him to clean up the scene, and pulled the newcomer Auror who had been shot dead away from the cemetery.
In a hidden underground passage.
Teach, breathing heavily, laid the body and the person down. After resting briefly, they proceeded with the plan.
Putting on a gas mask, he took out mercury and began to inscribe the magic circle on the magic book.
Then he took out the metal box and picked out one of the several green gems. These gems were the crystallization left behind by generations of the Karl family through the alchemy of animals.
Vitality is also a kind of power, and under the energy conversion of the training array, it can be used in place of magic.
With the formation prepared, Teach placed the corpse of the newcomer Auror into the training array.
In the glowing array, the corpse of the newcomer Auror was decomposed bit by bit, leaving not a trace of flesh, internal organs, or bones.
The final result was a blackish-green gem the size of a pigeon's egg.
Teach excitedly picked it up to examine it, discovering that this gem was much harder in structure than the one he had forged from Croton, and its surface had special, mysterious patterns. The energy within it not only possessed immense life force but also a kind of dark magic.
After carefully putting the gem away, Teach looked at Os, who had seen everything from beginning to end.
As Os watched his colleague being disintegrated and refined within the mysterious formation, an overwhelming sense of fear welled up within him.
It was dozens of times more terrifying than when he followed the Ministry of Magic and faced Voldemort, the Dark Lord.
Teach walked towards him, her footsteps approaching like death whispering in his ear. Finally, as Teach reached out to grab him, he succumbed to the fear of death: "No...please, don't throw me into that formation."
"I am valuable. I can tell you anything you want to know, just please don't turn me into that kind of gem."
Oss's pleas for mercy piqued Teach's interest.
Coincidentally, although he had memories of his past life as Harry Potter, he only knew about it from the movies.
Therefore, with Oss pleading for mercy, Teach has the opportunity to learn about the magical world from him in detail.
“Very good. The first question is, how do we enter your magical world?”
