HP: The Root of Everything - The Magician
Chapter 39 School is about to start
The 'Giant Strength Magic Circuit' has already made a one-centimeter start, so Teach Carr needs to make the most of this short winter break to completely complete this new circuit.
The forest monsters are at the top of the food chain in this area, so there must be territorial divisions among them, and their numbers are probably not very large.
Teach Carl was very worried that there were fewer than 40 forest monsters.
Fortunately, the mountain range was vast enough, so Teach took Hermione away from the base and began the search again.
Crossing the territory of the forest trolls in the dense jungle next door, Teach showed Hermione the habits and survival methods of these trolls. Their limbs were small and weak, making them unsuitable for grasping or chasing, so they could only hunt prey through teamwork. They typically lived in groups of ten, and Hermione, led by Teach, was very fortunate to encounter large groups of more than fifty forest trolls. These experiences greatly expanded Hermione's knowledge.
Then, the master and apprentice came to a river that was nearly thirty meters wide, where Hermione encountered the last of the three trolls, the 'River Troll'.
River monsters have yellowish-brown skin, and they look exactly like the kappa, a Japanese yokai, except for their skin color and height.
The mountain monster is over three meters tall, the forest monster is nearly three meters tall, and the river monster is only about two meters tall. This height puts them at the bottom of the monster family. Their bodies are not as robust as the other two giant monsters. Although their bodies are well-proportioned, they are very slender, like a human.
Through simple observation, Teach and Hermione concluded that the river trolls live by fishing and also eat carrion. Their group members are monogamous families who nest in the woods along the riverbank and usually like to play in the mud by the river to keep their skin moist.
They have a thin membrane of skin between their fingers and toes, which allows them to easily move through the water to catch fish. Titch Carr estimated that they have gills like fish, but he did not shoot one to study and verify this, because river trolls are relatively docile and do not have any active aggression.
Moreover, the family-style lifestyle reminded Titch of Machi.
Killing one means harming the whole family.
But the most crucial reason lies with the river troll; it doesn't possess any special abilities that Teach Carl desires.
After Hermione finished recording the information about the River Troll, Teach carried Hermione in his arms and carried her to the wide river. He spotted a few pieces of driftwood floating downstream and used Blink to jump across the river safely.
They then continued their search for the mountain monster.
In a sparsely vegetated, rocky area, Teach and Hermione successfully spotted a sleeping forest troll through their telescopes. This discovery proved that they were indeed solitary magical creatures with strong territorial boundaries.
Without further ado, Teach instructed Hermione to observe the surroundings for any intrusions by other magical creatures or any potential dangers, before pulling out his sniper rifle and firing.
After the shot, the forest monster died in its sleep.
Following the same method, they set up camp and then meticulously dissected the giant monsters of the forest, eventually mastering the magic circuits. During the dissection process, Teach would give up his tools so Hermione could practice dissecting them.
Time flew by, and during this time, Teach and Hermione, using teleportation magic to search and travel, managed to cover the entire Aberdeen region of England.
With a week left in his winter break, Teach Carr finally completed the 'Giant Strength Magic Circuit'.
Under Hermione's subtly tense and excited gaze, Teach stood under a three-meter-high and two-meter-wide boulder and stretched out his hands. The life magic in the Magnificent Magic Circuits on his arms flowed unimpeded into the 'Magnificent Magic Circle' on the back of his hands.
With a burst of strength, Teach easily lifted the boulder over his head and then hurled it heavily into the nearby rocky forest, sending dust billowing up.
The limit of the 'Great Strength Magic' couldn't be measured with this boulder, so Teach chose another boulder six meters wide. This time, Teach struggled a bit, but still had some strength left.
Through the continuous moving and measuring of the boulders, Teach finally grasped the limit of the power of the Great Strength Magic... which was 8 tons.
In other words, Teach Carr is now strong enough to easily lift two adult elephants.
Hermione excitedly ran over to clap and congratulate him. Teach gave Hermione a hearty laugh, then rolled up his sleeves to look at the powerful magic circuits on his arms: "[I have taken another big step forward on the path of magic. One day I will create the Holy Grail, then master the power of the 'perpetual motion machine' with infinite energy, and finally use the infinite energy to recast Machi's soul]."
......
An airplane flies across the sky over London and Oxford.
Teach Carr and Hermione Granger are back.
The spring semester of the second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was about to begin. Even though Hermione was pestering Teach to stay in Aberdeen and planned to go back on the last day, Teach Carr was not about to agree. So, without any room for refusal, he took the playful Hermione back to her home.
As soon as the door opened, the Grangers pulled Hermione aside and showered her with questions, mainly trying to find out what their teacher, Teach Carr, had taken their daughter to do.
There was nothing to hide from the Grangers about the magical world. Because Hermione was a witch, they, as Muggles, were not subjected to the Ministry of Magic's Oblivion Charm. However, they had signed a secret magical treaty in the enforcement of Auror law, stipulating that any violation of the secret law would result in the automatic destruction of their bodies by magic set in the treaty.
After receiving Teach's approval, Hermione's eyes lit up as she recounted everything she had seen and heard during the troll hunt to her parents, gesturing wildly and describing it in great detail.
As the Grangers listened intently to the story, they felt a mix of anxiety for their daughter Hermione's safety and a sense of loss and regret for not being able to experience such a wonderful experience themselves.
This time, after dinner, Titch Carr did not refuse the Grangers' invitation to stay.
After all, there were only a few days left before the start of the school year. Hermione had to go back to school, and so did he, as an unofficial professor at Hogwarts.
They haven't even hunted the thousand-year-old snake monster yet, how could they not go back?
The room remained the same. Hermione watched Teach sleeping on her bed, her face flushing red, her heart pounding. It wasn't until Teach Carl wondered why Hermione was peeking at him from the doorway that Hermione shyly ran back to her parents' room to sleep.
At the Grangers' home, Teach enjoyed a few rare days of relaxation and comfort.
In contrast, Hermione Granger's remaining days were far from easy.
She and Teach seemed to have forgotten... students have homework during holidays, and Hermione hadn't done a single word of homework while hunting trolls.
While watching her disciple Hermione frantically rushing to finish her homework in the study, wiping away cold sweat, Teach in the small garden burst out laughing without a shred of conscience.
Finally, after Hermione begged and pleaded with him to finish her homework, Teach drew her a modified version of the 'Knowledge Extraction Training Array', which allowed her to finish her homework on the last day of school.
