HP: The Root of Everything - The Magician

Chapter 34 Hermione's First Pistol

Why say no to a mutually beneficial collaboration?

So Teach Carr agreed to Kington Ketchum's offer of cooperation, to create chaos for him to exploit when needed.

In any case, Teach's magic has already caught the attention of the governments of both worlds, and chaos is inevitable in the future. It remains to be seen whether Kington can benefit from it.

With the cooperation established, Teach asked Kington for information about where the trolls lived.

The choice for the second magic circuit has been made: the troll's 'strength'. Trolls are recognized as the most powerful magical creatures in the magical world.

After obtaining information about the troll, the two parted ways. But before parting, Teach squinted at Kington and said, "Mr. Kington Kitsch, I have serious doubts about your subordinate named Donald. He might not obey your orders and cause me trouble on his own. So, to ensure a smooth cooperation between us, I hope you can get rid of him."

"Hehe~, don't worry, Mr. Carl, I will take care of it myself."

In this way, the two of them decided a person's life or death with just a few words.

After dealing with the Ministry of Magic's problems, Teach Carr was a bit tired. Although the life magic in his magic circuits gave him excess energy, he still needed to rest as a 'person'.

The next day, Teach slept until late morning.

Then he called Hermione about hunting the trolls, asking if she was interested in participating, since magic can't be studied alone; it needs to be put into practice to be transformed into real power.

During the phone call, Hermione was unusually excited after hearing Teach's suggestion. The trolls had given her quite a bit of trauma during her first year, and now that she had the chance, she naturally wanted to get revenge.

He told Hermione to pack some clothes and luggage and wait at home. Then Teach spent a huge sum of money to buy a civilian plane, but this time the plane was not unregistered.

At one o'clock in the afternoon, Teach landed the plane, picked up Hermione, and headed towards the English city of Aberdeen.

As for whether the Grangers will agree, they can just make up an excuse and tell a lie.

Given a reasonable excuse, ordinary people really can't make decisions about magic.

In the small two-seat plane, Hermione, wearing a helmet, was stunned by the view of the clouds in the sky. She had flown before, but this was her first time in an open-top plane.

The wind whipped against her body, making her feel as if she were flying. This flying was different from flying on a 'flying broomstick,' but a kind of unrestrained freedom.

Looking in the rearview mirror, Teach watched Hermione stand up, open her arms to the wind, and said with a smile, "Hermione, do you want to fly freely?"

"Yes, teacher."

"Then when I develop a flying formation, I'll inscribe it on you so you can fly like Superman."

"Then I'll wait, teacher."

......

With Teach accelerating, the plane arrived in Aberdeen at nine o'clock in the evening, but instead of landing at the city's airport, Teach stopped in the primeval forest.

After getting into the field, the master and apprentice quickly performed their respective duties.

Hermione set up a tent, lit a campfire, and prepared a hungry dinner.

Meanwhile, Teach planted explosives around the camp and set up machine gun and other fire defenses.

Because Teach chose to land in a densely forested mountain area, an environment that is the 'mountain monster's' favorite habitat.

The forest monster is the most powerful, dangerous, and aggressive of the three types of monsters, and it is said that its defense against magic is only one level lower than that of the dragon.

[I wonder how thick their skin is, and how well it defends against bullets?] Teach thought to himself.

After setting up the defensive perimeter, Hermione's bacon and eggs dinner was ready. During the meal, Teach took out a Beretta pistol and gave it to her disciple, saying, "Take this. Use it for self-defense. This thing is often much more effective than magic."

"Will you shoot?"

Hermione shook her head.

"Let's eat first, and after we finish eating, I'll teach you how to shoot."

'Snap~ Snap~ Snap~'

Hermione bounced around in Teach's arms...

The recoil of the pistol was a bit too much for Hermione, who wasn't yet familiar with firing a gun, causing her to take a step back after each shot. Left with no other option, Teach could only stand behind Hermione, shielding her in his arms, and then patiently teach her how to fire.

How to aim, how to easily grip the gun handle, how to pull the trigger and pull the trigger repeatedly, and then how to load bullets and quickly change magazines.

After practicing with two magazines, Hermione finally hit a beverage can that was placed thirty meters away.

Teach didn't have high expectations for Hermione's shooting skills; as long as she knew how to use it, that was fine. After all, it was about fighting magical creatures, not people. For example, with trolls, their massive size of over three meters meant you could hit them without even aiming.

Just as Teach thought Hermione was qualified, Hermione, still unsatisfied, tucked the pistol into her waistband and said, "Teacher, are there any other weapons? I want to play with them~"

After saying that, Hermione pointed to a Gatling gun on the defensive perimeter, and seeing Teach's obvious disagreement, she pointed to the explosive charge next to her.

Finally, at Hermione's insistence, Teach gave her a grenade to play with.

Before Teach could explain how to use the grenade, Hermione curiously pulled the pin, then held it in her hand and stared at it strangely without throwing it away.

This terrified Teach so much that he almost lost his mind.

In that brief moment of distraction, two seconds had already passed since the grenade exploded. In the final second, Teach hastily activated his Blink spell, not having time to throw the grenade, and simply grabbed Hermione and fled.

Fortunately, there were pre-dug defensive trenches within a ten-meter radius of the teleportation point; otherwise, Teach might not have been able to hold Hermione unharmed from the steel fragments ejected by the grenade explosion.

In the trench, Teach, covered in dirt and grime, held Hermione in his arms and said to his reckless disciple with a twitching smile, "My foolish disciple, do you know you almost lost your life just now?"

"Do you know how serious the consequences were when you disobeyed and detonated the grenade? If it weren't for my teleportation magic, you would have been blown to bits!"

"...Hey, are you listening to me?"

Reprimanded, Hermione snapped out of her warm embrace and blushed with embarrassment at realizing how unladylike her behavior of clinging to Ms. Teach had been.

Seeing this, Teach assumed Hermione was blushing because she realized her mistake of detonating the grenade, so she couldn't bear to continue scolding her and comforted her, "Alright, alright, Teacher, I was a little harsh just now, don't take it to heart."

"Here, have another grenade to play with~".

Throughout his two lifetimes, Teach Carr has never truly comforted anyone, and being a single man in both lives, he has never had any experience with women.

So now I'm thinking of using a toy grenade to cheer Hermione up, at least to cool down the flushed face.
