I served as Li Bai's page.

I placed the tea to help me sober up on the table and was about to go to my study when Li Bai said, "I've been listening all day; it's your turn now."

"Young Master, you're really faking being drunk. No, you have to come to the study with me." I said, pulling Li Bai along.

Xu Ziyan immediately stood up: "I won't allow my husband to go, what are you going to do about it?"

"I wouldn't dare do anything, I'll go by myself."

I walked outside, and behind me I heard the sinister laughter of three people.

I received an hour of re-education in the study, making countless promises, until Madam Xu was too tired to sleep, and then I was allowed to go back to my room to rest.

The moving time was set for 5-7 AM, which, in Wu Ma's words, meant that the house would become brighter the longer it was moved.

As soon as it was dawn, everyone in the courtyard sprang into action. Several carriages lined up outside the Xu residence's gate. Li Bai and Xu Ziyan rode in the first carriage, and I was in charge of driving. Everyone loaded their things onto the carriages, and the large group headed towards Bai Zhaoshan in a grand procession.

When we arrived at the gate of the new house, I stopped. Zhang Ma, carrying two fish in one hand and a bag of apples in the other, was the first to walk through the gate. Then, the others followed one after another, carrying their things into the yard.

Li Bai and Xiaoqian helped Xu Ziyan into the courtyard and sat her on the veranda. Li Bai then immediately went to direct the work in his study. Thus, half of the Xu family's study was moved to Bai Zhaoshan.

"Finally, I have my own home," Li Bai said with a sigh.

After everything was put away, Li Bai convened a temporary meeting in the front hall, attended by everyone. Li Bai was the host, and the attendees were Xu Ziyan, Yuehua, Xiaoqian, Zhang Ma, Wu Chao, Xiao Peng, and Xiao Zhang.

Li Bai said, "First, let me introduce our two new servants, Xiao Peng and Xiao Zhang. Please get to know each other."

Then everyone introduced themselves.

Li Bai continued, "From today onwards, I am the head of this household. No one needs to object to what I say. Even the young mistress has no right to object. That's all I have to say. Now, my page Yuehua will represent me in assigning rooms and tasks. Please welcome her." After Li Bai finished speaking, he led the applause.

I was completely stunned. No one had told me how to allocate the resources. I looked at the young mistress and said, "Young mistress, what do you think?"

"I have no right to object. Just speak up and say it. What you say is what you mean," Xu Ziyan said defiantly.

I said, "According to Master and Madam's wishes, Wu Chao is our household manager, responsible for everything, but mainly for purchasing daily necessities. We still need to eat, right? Zhang Ma will be in charge of the kitchen and laundry, which means cooking for us. Xiao Peng and Xiao Zhang will be responsible for housework and some heavy and rough work. Young Master and Young Madam, is this arrangement acceptable?"

"Of course, please continue," Li Bai said.

"Regarding accommodations, we have two inner courtyards. The right courtyard will be for the young master and young mistress, and the left courtyard will be for us servants. We have exactly six servants, one room per person. First, Zhang Ma will choose, and then Xiaoqian will choose, to take care of the women."

Li Bai said, "Let me interject. Yuehua and Xiaoqian will be staying with us, so they can take care of me and the young mistress. Yuehua will stay in the room next to the study, and Xiaoqian will stay in the room next to ours."

"You can choose whatever you like from the rest. That's all I have to say," I said.

"Is there anything else you'd like to add, Madam?" Li Bai asked Xu Ziyan. "No, let's adjourn the meeting. Zhang Ma, go cook some food; we'll have a good drink tonight."

Xu Ziyan stood up, flicked her long sleeves, and said, "Hmph, Li Bai, you just wait." She then walked towards the inner courtyard, and Li Bai quickly followed, saying, "Baby, don't be angry, let's talk this out."

Everyone burst into laughter.

Since it was Bai Zhaoshan's first meal, apart from Xiaoqian and Li Bai who stayed with Xu Ziyan, we all came to the kitchen to help Zhang Ma cook.

After the meal was prepared, I went to the Taoist temple on the mountaintop:

"Xuanmeng, we've moved to a new house. Come on, let's go downstairs for lunch."

"Okay, wait a moment." Xuanmeng said as she walked towards the back mountain. A little while later, she returned carrying a large bag of peaches and loquats.

"I don't have much to give you as a gift for moving to your new house, but I picked some fruit and will take it down for everyone to enjoy."

"Xuanmeng, you're so kind. The new house is just missing fruit," I said.

Xuanmeng and I returned home, just as Zhang Ma and the others were setting the table. It was a sumptuous lunch. I went to the inner courtyard to invite Li Bai and Xu Ziyan to eat. When they came to the dining room and saw Xuanmeng, they said:

"Master Xuanmeng has come down. He'll have a couple of drinks with me today."

"I have a low alcohol tolerance, please forgive me, Young Master Li," Xuanmeng said.

According to the Xu family's custom, Li Bai, Xu Ziyan, and the guests were to eat first. However, Li Bai said, "We don't need to be so formal here. Everyone, come to the table and eat together."

I took two jars of wine from the cupboard and filled everyone's cups. Li Bai raised his cup and said, "Come on, let's drink to our new home!" He then downed his drink in one gulp. Xuanmeng and I aren't big drinkers, so we didn't dare drink any more after one cup. Zhang Ma and Xiaoqian also don't drink, so we left the table early and ate fruit with Xu Ziyan, strolling around the new house.

When we reached the back garden, Xu Ziyan suddenly clutched her stomach, which startled me: "What's wrong, Young Madam?"

Xiaoqian and Zhang Ma quickly went to help her.

Xu Ziyan said, "It's nothing, my stomach is moving."

Aunt Zhang breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Miss, this is called fetal movement. The baby is telling you that he/she is happy to be in his/her new home. The baby will move every day from now on."

"Really? Go tell the son-in-law quickly." Xu Ziyan couldn't wait to let Li Bai know.

"Young Madam, calm down. There's plenty of time later. Young Master is having a good time right now. If you tell him, he might not remember. It's not too late to tell him after he's finished drinking," I said.

"Okay, let's walk around a bit more. I want to show my baby our new home." Xu Ziyan said, and then her belly moved twice more.

Xiaoqian said, "Miss, this child can understand you now."

Xu Ziyan proudly stroked her belly and said, "Child, shall we go see if your father is drunk?"

Led by Xu Ziyan, we headed towards the restaurant.

Li Bai and Wu Chao were drinking enthusiastically, and the sounds of their drinking games carried far.

We entered the restaurant, and Xu Ziyan approached Li Bai, saying, "Your child told you not to drink anymore."

Li Bai casually remarked, "He hasn't even seen the light of day yet, what does he know?" Just as Li Bai finished speaking, Xu Ziyan's stomach jerked twice. Everyone saw it and found it incredibly strange.

Li Bai immediately put down his wine cup and said, "I won't drink anymore, you all drink, listen to the children."

Wu Chao and the other two were also drinking with Li Bai. When the host stopped drinking, they stopped too. Each of them served themselves a bowl of rice, and Bai Zhaoshan's first meal was finally over.

Li Bai led Xu Ziyan towards the inner courtyard. After Xiaoqian and the others finished tidying up for Zhang Ma, they went back to their rooms to rest.

I accompanied Xuanmeng back to the Taoist temple on the mountaintop. We sat on the platform in front of the temple, eating the fruit that Xuanmeng had picked from the mountain, and enjoying the beautiful scenery of Baizhao Mountain in early summer.
