The Young Swordsman of Dalu

Chapter 2 Time Travel

The door creaked open, and a servant tiptoed to the bedside, peered into the bed, and whispered to another person, "Still not awake."

"Keep your voice down, don't wake up Fourth Master."

"I'm not speaking softly, or you won't be able to hear me."

"What are you all making so much noise about? Can't a person get any sleep?" Wenfei rolled over and pretended to be half asleep.

"Fourth Master, you're awake! If you hadn't woken up, we would have..." Before he could finish speaking, he raised his hand, making a gesture as if to hit someone.

"What do you want to do?" Wenfei sat up abruptly.

"Sir, you're really awake. I must tell the old lady right away."

"Come back, who are you?" Wenfei asked the question that had been on his mind.

"Fourth Master, really? You've forgotten about us just because you fell once?"

"I really can't remember very well, my head hurts a bit," Wenfei said, patting his head with his hand.

"Fourth Master, you must have damaged your brain. I am Changsheng! I've been with you since you were little." Changsheng said anxiously, afraid that the Fourth Master had forgotten him.

"If you are Changsheng, then who is he?" Wenfei asked, pointing to the other person with a puzzled expression.

"Fourth Master, I am Afu, and I am Second Master's attendant," Afu said, staring with his big eyes.

"And who is the Second Master?" Wenfei was increasingly puzzled.

"Fourth Master, Second Master is your second brother! He's been so good to you, how could you forget him? How heartbroken he'll be if he finds out," Afu said discontentedly.

"Second brother, I have a second brother, so I also have an eldest brother. Wait, I'm the fourth master, so I also have a third brother, right?" Wenfei counted on his fingers.

"Fourth Master, you are truly clever," Changsheng said with a smile.

"Are we sure we're not filming a movie?" Wenfei couldn't help but ask.

"What do you mean by filming? Fourth Master, are you confused from the fall? Should we get a doctor to take a look at you?" Changsheng said worriedly.

"Could it be that I've traveled through time?" Wenfei muttered to himself.

"Fourth Master, what are you saying?" Changsheng asked.

"I'm fine, it's just that there's something wrong with my head. I'm just not sure if I still remember everyone in my family. Changsheng, please remind me so I don't embarrass myself in front of everyone," Wenfei said guiltily.

"Fourth Master, please rest assured, Changsheng will always be by your side to remind you," Changsheng said, bowing.

"Fourth Master has woken up. I must hurry and inform Second Master so he can be at ease. Fourth Master! I'll be going now." Afu bowed and left.

"Chang Sheng, who am I? How popular am I in this family?" Wen Fei asked shyly.

"Fourth Master, you really don't remember who you are? Your brain is really damaged. No, I have to tell the old lady right away and have the doctor examine you again." Changsheng said, and was about to rush out the door.

"Chang Sheng, come back!" Wen Fei shouted anxiously.

Changsheng stopped his flight and returned to Wenfei's bedside.

"Chang Sheng, aren't you the person I trust most in this family?"

"Fourth Master, you're right," Changsheng said affirmatively.

"To tell you the truth, I've really forgotten who I am, and everything about this family. I've forgotten everything. You have to tell me the truth, tell me everything about me and everything about this family," Wenfei said urgently.

"Fourth Master, what exactly is going on?" Changsheng asked, puzzled.

"I don't know either. My head is throbbing terribly right now. Tell me first, who am I?" Wen Fei said, feigning pain.

"You are the fourth master of the Wen family, and your name is Wen Fei," Changsheng said respectfully.

"Even here, I'll still call myself Wenfei," Wenfei said softly.

Changsheng looked at Wenfei with a puzzled expression.

"Speak quickly!" Wenfei didn't want Changsheng to say anything useless.

"Fourth Master, you have three older brothers. Your eldest brother, Wenhao, has inherited the title of heir apparent and is the future prince. Your second brother, Wenjie, likes martial arts and travels the world, so he is mostly away from the manor. He only stayed home for so many extra days because you were sick. Your third brother, Wenwu, has passed the imperial examination and will soon take up his post. In Fuli, there is the old princess, the prince, the princess, and several of the prince's concubines," Changsheng said calmly.

"What is my status at home?" Wenfei asked timidly.

"Not very good!" Changsheng answered honestly.

"You brat, you actually speak the truth. Are you so sure that I, the fourth young master of a royal family, would be treated badly? Tell me." Wen Fei said, feigning disdain.

"Fourth Master, your reputation isn't very good, not just in the Prince's Mansion, but throughout the entire Yulu City," Changsheng said somewhat awkwardly.

"Impossible! I don't steal, rob, gamble, or visit prostitutes. How could I have a bad reputation?" Wen Fei said confidently.

"Fourth Master, you must have really messed up your head. You didn't miss a single one of these things you mentioned." Changsheng felt a little embarrassed for the Fourth Master.

"Ah! Am I really that bad?" Wenfei asked in disbelief.

“Fourth Master, that’s really how you are. Because of this, the Prince doesn’t like you anymore. If it weren’t for your grandmother, the old Princess Consort, intervening, the Prince would have kicked you out of the Prince’s mansion long ago.” Changsheng said with a hint of disappointment.

"What's wrong with me being sick?" Wenfei asked.

"Fourth Master, you got into a fight with Young Master Zhao of the Zhao family over a courtesan in a brothel, and fell from the second floor and was knocked unconscious," Changsheng said.

"Ah! How could this happen? This is so embarrassing! This original owner is so awful! I want to go back! I don't want to stay here!" Wen Fei shouted angrily.

"Fourth Master, is your head hurting again? I'll go get the doctor." Changsheng said as he rushed out.

After Changsheng left, Wenfei calmed down. His mind raced, desperately trying to remember how he had come to this time and space, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't recall. He felt a little uneasy. What should he do? He was about to face a completely unfamiliar family, and the problem was that he knew absolutely nothing about them.

"What should we do? If only Grandma were here, Grandma, please save your grandson!" Wenfei shouted.

"Oh! My dear grandson, Grandma's here!" As soon as she finished speaking, an elderly woman with white hair entered the room, leaning on a dragon-headed cane.

Wenfei thought to himself that this must be the old princess, so he quickly got out of bed and was about to bow when the old princess had already walked to the bedside and hurriedly pressed Wenfei down with her hand.

"My dear grandson, I'm so glad you're awake. I was so worried about you these past few days," the old princess said affectionately.

"It's all my fault, Grandma, I've made you worry," Wenfei said tremblingly.

Wenfei felt as if his grandmother had returned to his side. He felt that the old princess was so kind and gentle, just like his grandmother.

Wenfei was a little confused; he couldn't tell the difference. He couldn't distinguish between the old princess's kind smile and his grandmother's gentle smile. He fell into a deep sleep again.
