The Young Swordsman of Dalu

Chapter 15 The Girl's Thoughts

The Liang family soon learned that Wenjie had left home again. Liang Feiyan was used to hearing such news. Ever since she was old enough to understand, she knew that there was a boy whose fate was intertwined with hers. They played and fought together since they were little. Suddenly one day, the boy stopped coming to play with her. Through her grandfather, she learned that he had left and gone to the outside world.

When the boy returned, they were somewhat shy when they met. After that, they had fewer opportunities to meet because the boy always came and went in a hurry, and they could hardly talk to each other. Over the years, they became quite estranged from each other.

Liang Feiyan learned medicine from her grandfather and father since she was a child. Over the years, she has developed her own set of skills. The old imperial physician Liang thought of sending her to Wenxian Pavilion to study, since it is a gathering place for famous doctors from all over the country, where she could learn more systematically.

Liang Feiyan had her own ideas. She also wanted to travel the world and use her skills to help ordinary people alleviate their suffering. Actually, she had another little thought: perhaps she would meet Wenjie on her travels, and she wanted to see how he would react when he saw her. Just thinking about this made Liang Feiyan chuckle to herself.

Several times Liang Feiyan wanted to tell her grandfather about her travels, but seeing how tired he was every day, she couldn't bear to bother him and make him worry about her.

The once-great Liang family is now struggling to survive on just the grandfather alone. Liang Feiyan is actually very angry with her father for not helping her grandfather support the family.

Over the years, Liang Shixian has traveled extensively, seeking out renowned doctors across the country. He also has another purpose: to find a secret formula for treating male diseases. What he finds difficult to talk about is that over the years, he has almost completely lost his fertility, and even his father, a royal physician, was helpless.

Their family only has one child, Liang Feiyan, who is a girl. Doesn't this directly extinguish their lineage?

That day, the imperial physician Liang was unusually resting at home. After Liang Feiyan went to pay her respects to her grandfather, she hesitated for a moment...

"Grandpa, there's something I want to tell you."

"What is it? Please tell me," said the kindly old imperial physician, Liang.

“My father has been traveling for many years and has not returned. I miss him very much. Whenever he is mentioned, my mother sheds tears. I want to go and find my father and bring him back,” Liang Feiyan said.

"No, I don't feel comfortable letting a young girl like you go out into the world. Although we live in a peaceful and prosperous era, dark things still happen from time to time in the shadows," said the old imperial physician Liang with concern.

"To be honest, Grandpa, traveling has always been my dream. Don't worry, I have martial arts skills to rely on," Liang Feiyan said confidently.

“You’ve never been to the martial world, so you don’t know how treacherous people can be. In short, I’m worried about you going. I’ve been thinking of sending you to Wenxian Pavilion lately; it would be better if you went there,” said the old imperial physician, Liang.

“Although Wenxian Pavilion is a good place, staying in the pavilion all day is not as good as staying at home,” Liang Feiyan said.

"You silly child, I sent you to study medicine, not to play around. You should always be more humble," said the old imperial physician Liang.

“Grandpa is right,” Liang Feiyan said dejectedly.

"The fourth son of the Wen family has already arrived at Wenxian Pavilion. After you go there, do not have anything to do with him. Stay as far away from him as possible," said the old imperial physician Liang solemnly.

“Why? Grandpa! You adults are always like this. I think Wenfei is quite good!” Liang Feiyan said.

"You don't know about his bad reputation in Yulu City?" the old imperial physician Liang said loudly.

“Those bad things are just what other people say. We didn’t see them ourselves. When Wenfei was little, he always followed Wenjie and me around. He was very kind. I don’t believe he’s as bad as other people say,” Liang Feiyan said.

“Everyone has their reasons for saying something. In short, just keep Grandpa’s words in mind,” said the old imperial physician, Liang.

“Okay, Grandpa, I understand,” Liang Feiyan said.

"Take these next few days to prepare yourself properly, and I will send someone to Wenxian Pavilion on another day," said the old imperial physician Liang.

Liang Feiyan returned to her room, still feeling resentful. Her yearning for freedom wouldn't settle down. In any case, she didn't want to go to Wenxian Pavilion for the time being; she wanted to see the wonders and interesting things in the world first. Anyway, as long as she left Yulu City and her grandfather wasn't with her, she still had a way to do it.

Liang Feiyan was very excited at the thought of leaving the home she had lived in for nineteen years in just a few days; her heart had already flown away.

The old imperial physician Liang was extremely worried about Liang Feiyan's trip to Wenxian Pavilion. He first wrote a letter to Li Chaoyang, asking him to treat his granddaughter well, and also to tell her to keep her distance from Wen Fei.

A few days later, the old imperial physician Liang gathered the whole family together and told them about Liang Feiyan's trip to Wenxian Pavilion. Everyone was very nervous, after all, Liang Feiyan was the only child in the family, and they were all reluctant to let her go. Feiyan's mother was in tears, and Liang Feiyan wiped her tears and comforted her.

The next day, the entire Liang family saw Liang Feiyan off at the main gate. Liang Feiyan bowed to each of her family members, got into her carriage, and rode away in the sight of everyone.

"We're free!" Liang Feiyan shouted from inside the carriage.

"Miss, it can't be that bad. You're so happy to be away from home," said the maid, Rainbow.

“Rainbow, do you know how long I’ve wanted this day?” Liang Feiyan said happily.

"Miss, when did you become so wild?" Rainbow asked curiously.

Liang Feiyan knew, of course, when Wenjie had started to yearn for the outside world. Ever since Wenjie first left Yulu City, her heart had flown away with him. She was very curious about why the outside world had such a great magic that it took Wenjie away time and time again. She also wanted to explore this world that she was curious about, and she wanted to explore it with Wenjie.

The journey to Wenxian Pavilion was long, and the old imperial physician Liang knew his granddaughter too well. To prevent her from running away, he sent out the best guards from the Liang family.

Along the way, Liang Feiyan always looked for opportunities to slip away with Caihong. The guards seemed to have seen through her thoughts and kept a close watch on her, never letting their guard down for a moment.

Liang Feiyan could tell at a glance that her grandfather had done their homework, but how could it possibly stump her?

After traveling for several days, the group found an inn to rest one evening. Liang Feiyan finished her meal and went to bed early. The guards thought she was too tired from the bumpy journey and, seeing that she was sleeping soundly, they also went to sleep without worry.

The next morning, someone shouted, "The young lady is missing!"

The guards and attendants all ran towards Liang Feiyan's room, but the door was open and the person inside was nowhere to be found, leaving everyone dumbfounded.
