The Young Swordsman of Dalu

Chapter 115 The Turmoil at the Mountain Villa (3)

After finishing up the matters at Haifeng Villa, Wenfei was about to leave. He went to say goodbye to Haiyitian, but the servants said that Haiyitian was in the villa's Buddhist hall.

Outside the Buddhist hall, Wenfei saw that Hai Yitian's hair had turned completely white in just a few days. He knelt forlornly in front of the Buddhist hall, and Wenfei couldn't help but sigh in his heart: the once famous owner of Haifeng Manor had such a tragic end.

Wen Fei did not disturb Hai Yitian. Just as he was about to leave, Zhou Shiyao walked out from the side. Wen Fei bowed to him, and the two walked together into the main hall.

"Wenfei, are you leaving?" Zhou Shiyao asked.

"Yes! Does Young Master Zhou intend to linger here?" Wen Fei asked.

“I also need to set off for the capital immediately,” Zhou Shiyao said.

"We'll meet again!" Wenfei said goodbye to Zhou Shiyao.

“I hope we will meet again soon,” Zhou Shiyao said.

"Goodbye!" Wenfei walked out of Haifeng Manor, mounted his horse, and galloped north.

"Your Highness!" Hai Yitian arrived in the courtyard, followed by a young man.

“Master Hai!” Zhou Shiyao said.

"From now on, I will entrust all business dealings between Your Highness and me to Hai Huating." Hai Yitian pulled Hai Huating in front of Zhou Shiyao.

"I am Hai Huating, Your Highness!" Hai Huating said politely.

"Is Master Hai going to step down?" Zhou Shiyao asked.

"From now on, I will keep company with the Buddhist scriptures and the lamp," Hai Yitian said calmly.

"Congratulations to the new manor lord!" Zhou Shiyao said to Hai Huating.

"Your Highness, you mustn't!" Hai Huating glanced at Hai Yitian.

"Hua Ting, rest assured, I will immediately gather the Hai clan members and ensure that you smoothly take the position of the head of Haifeng Manor," Hai Yitian said. "I also ask Your Highness to support Hua Ting in front of my clan members, after all, he is too young."

"Who is he to you?" Zhou Shiyao asked.

“He is my nephew. My younger brother, Hai Yicheng, has passed away. This is the only bloodline he left in the world,” Hai Yitian said.

“Okay, I’ll leave after the new manor lord takes office,” Zhou Shiyao said.

"Thank you, Your Highness!"

Hai Qingyun was still immersed in the grief of losing her loved ones. Although her two older brothers were not born to the same mother, they both doted on her and never let her suffer any grievances.

"Miss! The manor has a new owner!" the maid Alan rushed in and said.

"The new master of the manor? Where is my father?" Hai Qingyun asked in confusion.

“Now, everyone in the entire manor knows that the manor owner is giving up his position to the Third Young Master,” Alan said.

"Hai Huating! I never expected him to reap the benefits," Hai Qingyun said.

"I really don't know what the master of the manor is thinking?" Alan said.

"Alan, please help me with my hair and makeup. I need to go see my second aunt. She must be very sad now that my second brother is gone," Hai Qingyun said.

Hai Qingyun arrived at the Second Madam's courtyard. The courtyard was no longer as lively as it used to be; it was quiet now, as if no one lived there.

Hai Qingyun quietly entered the room, where the Second Madam's maid, Ayu, came to greet her.

"Miss, the Second Madam is sleeping."

"How is my second aunt?" Hai Qingyun asked.

“Ever since the second young master left, the second madam has barely eaten and spends all her time in tears. She is heartbroken,” Ayu said.

"Is that Qingyun? Come in!" the Second Madam said.

"Second Madam! I've come to see you. Please take care of yourself!" Hai Qingyun walked to the Second Madam's bedside.

"Huashan, you silly child, why did you have to go against your father? You were so heartless as to leave me behind and go on your own. You silly child!" The second wife cried again.

"Second Aunt! Don't cry!" Hai Qingyun also started crying.

"Hai Yitian, I'm not done with you yet!" The second wife finally shouted out her true feelings.

In the main hall of the manor, the Hai clan members were discussing and debating how to elect a new manor lord. Hai Yitian watched his clansmen enthusiastically discussing the matter and said, "I called you all here today not to elect a manor lord, but to announce the new manor lord."

“Someone has been chosen!” the tribespeople said, looking at Hai Yitian.

"Hai Huating!" Hai Yitian said, pointing to Hai Huating who was standing next to him.

"Is he up to the task? He's too inexperienced." The clansmen all looked at him with suspicion.

"Just support him, and the rest is up to him," Hai Yitian said.

"There are many people in the clan who are more skilled than him. Why him? Is it because he is your nephew?" some clansmen asked.

"Please keep an eye on him. If he is truly worthless, please do your best to remove him from office. I, Hai Yitian, will have no complaints then," Hai Yitian said.

“I believe in Master Hai, please give the young man a chance.” Zhou Shiyao came out from the back hall.

"Who is he?" the tribespeople asked.

"I am Zhou Shiyao, the Crown Prince of the Great Lu Kingdom!" Zhou Shiyao stood in the center of the main hall.

"Ah!" The tribespeople all looked surprised.

"This humble subject greets Your Highness the Crown Prince!" The clansmen snapped out of their daze and quickly knelt down to pay their respects.

"Alright, everyone rise! From now on, Hai Huating will be the new owner of Haifeng Manor," Zhou Shiyao said.

“Yes!” the Hai clan members replied.

"Thank you, Your Highness! Thank you, my clansmen! I, Hua Ting, will certainly live up to your expectations and manage Haifeng Manor well," Hai Hua Ting said.

"Hai Yitian! I should be leaving now. You are on your own in the future," Zhou Shiyao said.

"We of Haifeng will certainly live up to His Majesty's expectations! We will certainly live up to His Highness's expectations!" Hai Yitian said, leading the Hai clan members as they knelt down.

Hai Yitian and his clansmen watched Zhou Shiyao leave Haifeng Manor.

Hai Yitian returned to the mountain villa and encountered Hai Qingyun on his way to the Buddhist hall.

Standing before Hai Yitian, Hai Qingyun's expression held both reproach and reluctance.

"Father! Are you really willing to hand over the position of head of the manor to that wild child?" Hai Qingyun said unwillingly.

"Stop talking nonsense! Hua Ting is your second uncle's bloodline, and no one can doubt that," Hai Yitian said.

"You did this to make up for what you owed my second uncle, didn't you?" Hai Qingyun asked.

"No matter what, Hua Ting is of the Hai family bloodline, and it is only right that he takes the position of manor lord! Qingyun, as a child of the Hai family, you should stand with us," Hai Yitian said.

“Aren’t my eldest and second brothers children of the Hai family? How could they be so unfortunate!” Hai Qingyun retorted.

"Enough! I've already made a mistake, you must resent me as your father!" Hai Yitian walked towards the Buddhist hall.

Hai Qingyun left in tears.

Hai Huating witnessed all of this and followed Hai Yitian to the Buddhist hall.

Hai Yitian entered the Buddhist hall and knelt devoutly before the Buddha.

"Hua Ting, you hate me just like they do, right?" Hai Yitian asked.

“I used to hate you, I even wanted to kill you! But now I don’t hate you anymore, Uncle,” Hai Huating said.

"You haven't called me Uncle for so many years!" Hai Yitian said excitedly.

"Uncle! You can rest assured that Haifeng Manor is in my hands!" Hai Huating said before leaving the Buddhist hall.

As Hai Yitian listened to Hai Huating's receding footsteps, he said, "Yicheng, back then you stubbornly led the manor into a dead end. I had no choice but to put aside my own family for the greater good. Your son has grown up and become the new manor lord. Rest in peace now!"

Two lines of tears streamed down Hai Yitian's face.
