The Young Swordsman of Dalu

Chapter 114 Fengyun Manor (2)

While everyone's attention was focused on Hai Huashan, Hai Xin quietly left the main hall. Just as he was about to leave Haifeng Manor, Hai Qingyun caught him red-handed.

"Butler Hai, we're not finished inside yet. Where do you want to go?"

“Young lady, I want to…” Haisin shrank into a ball in fright.

"Drag him inside!" Hai Qingyun said.

Haisin was dragged back to the main hall by the servants. Hai Yitian was filled with rage and said, "Throw that guy into the jail. I never want to see him again."

Hai Yitian noticed a group of people following Hai Qingyun and asked uneasily, "Qingyun, are you here to help your second brother?"

Hai Qingyun glanced at Hai Huashan, then at Hai Yitian. She didn't want to choose sides; on one side was her loving father, and on the other, her protective brother. Faced with betrayal from her own family, Hai Qingyun was in agony, just like when they watched helplessly as her eldest brother, Hai Huayang, was beaten to death by Hai Yitian, unable to stop their father. At that time, Hai Qingyun suffered greatly, both physically and mentally, feeling she had let her eldest brother down. She also knew that since that day, her usually well-behaved second brother had become a different person, beginning to feign affection. At Haifeng Manor, Hai Qingyun seemed like an observer; she knew that the source of all the problems at the manor was her father, Hai Yitian.

Hai Yitian, the renowned lord of Haifeng Manor, is not only highly skilled in martial arts, but he also inherited the business acumen of his ancestors, becoming a commercial prodigy. The manor does business not only with merchants of all sizes, but also with the imperial court, and even with surrounding countries of all sizes. Further afield, his business has reached the Western Regions. Therefore, Haifeng Manor holds a very high position in the Great Lu Kingdom.

Hai Yitian's biggest flaw was his extremely volatile temper and his tendency to act arbitrarily. His eldest son, Hai Huayang, disobeyed his wishes and chose a girl he liked. Feeling his authority was being challenged, and when Hai Huayang refused to back down, Hai Yitian, in a fit of rage, beat him to death. This incident left a deep psychological scar on the family, especially Hai Huashan. He didn't want to suffer the same fate as his brother; only by becoming the head of the manor could he feel safe.

"Qingyun, your second brother doesn't want to make things difficult for you, but don't even think about stopping me," Haihuashan said.

"Even if you all come at me, you're no match for me, Hai Yitian!" Hai Yitian shouted loudly.

Hai Qingyun never expected that her father and second brother would reach the point of fighting each other so quickly. She seemed helpless again. Family ties were something they could discard at any time. This was truly a tragedy for their family!

"Wenfei, are you trying to drive the Hai family into a corner?" Hai Qingyun vented his anger on Wenfei.

“I’m just looking for the truth; I have no intention of forcing you,” Wenfei said.

“Let me tell you the truth: my father and my second brother are about to kill each other. Isn’t that tragic?” Hai Qingyun said.

"Qingyun, stop wasting your breath on them. None of the people here will leave Haifeng Manor." Hai Huashan's bloodshot eyes widened.

Wen Fei knew that Hai Huashan had gone mad. His swordsmen were mostly experts, and if a fight broke out, he might not be able to care about Zhou Shiyao's safety.

“Young Master Zhou, you go to the back first, I'll take care of things here,” Wen Fei said.

"Wenfei, go ahead and hit me. I'll just sit here and see who can hurt me." Zhou Shiyao put on an indifferent attitude.

"Kill them!" Hai Huashan said.

Swordsmen and thugs swarmed forward, and Hai Qingyun retreated to the side. Hai Huashan, along with three highly skilled swordsmen, attacked Hai Yitian. Every move Hai Huashan made against Hai Yitian was filled with deep hatred.

Wen Fei and Gao Yuan stood guard in front of Zhou Shiyao, fearing that Zhou Shiyao would be killed if they weren't careful.

"Focus on the fight, don't get distracted," Zhou Shiyao said calmly.

"Brother Gao, I'll leave this to you. I'll go and capture Hai Huashan first," Wen Fei said.

"Go ahead with peace of mind!" Gao Yuan said confidently.

Wen Fei jumped to Hai Huashan's side and, taking him by surprise, held the Meteor Shower Sword to his neck.

"Make them all stop! Otherwise, I won't be polite!" Wen Fei threatened Hai Huashan.

"Wenfei, don't touch my second brother!" Hai Qingyun had already placed his sword against Zhou Shiyao's neck without anyone noticing. "I know that Young Master Zhou must be someone special to receive such a warm welcome from my father. If you release my second brother, I will release Young Master Zhou."

"Qingyun! Don't be reckless! Do you want our entire Haifeng Manor to be buried with us?" Hai Yitian said.

"Father! Release Second Brother! You've already lost one son, do you want to lose another?" Hai Qingyun said painfully.

“He’s a rebellious son! He wants to kill me, what use is there in keeping such a rebellious son alive?” Hai Yitian said in despair.

"Qingyun! Don't plead for my second brother. I'd rather go to the underworld to join my eldest brother than stay in this cold, lifeless manor," Haihua Mountain said expressionlessly.

"Father!" Hai Qingyun cried out in despair.

Hai Yitian closed his eyes, his heart filled with conflict. Hai Huashan was, after all, his son, but his authority had once again been severely challenged. He could not allow this to continue; he needed to stop it immediately.

Hai Yitian walked step by step toward Haihua Mountain, and Wen Fei saw murderous intent in his eyes.

"Master Hai, you mustn't!" Wen Fei said.

"I'll do it myself!" Hai Huashan grabbed Wen Fei's sword and pulled hard on his neck.

"Haihua Mountain!" Wenfei shouted.

"Second Brother!" Hai Qingyun cried as the sword he had been holding to Zhou Shiyao's neck slipped from his hand.

Hai Yitian stopped in his tracks. He hadn't expected Hai Huashan to commit suicide in front of him. Another of his sons had died right before his eyes. His heart ached, but no one could challenge his authority.

Wen Fei reached out and checked Hai Yitian's nose; there was no breath at all. He looked at Zhou Shiyao and shook his head.

Zhou Shiyao stood up, looked at Hai Qingyun who was slumped on the ground, walked up to Hai Yitian and said, "Master Hai, please accept my condolences!" After saying that, he and Gao Yuan walked towards the back hall.

"What's going on here?" The members of the Hai clan also came to the main hall.

Hai Yitian walked out of the main hall like a walking corpse. He stood in the courtyard for a while, then mechanically walked out of the courtyard. He kept walking until he reached the sea, and then he continued walking into the deep sea.

As soon as Wenfei noticed something was wrong with Hai Yitian, he rushed into the sea and pulled Hai Yitian out of the water.

Hai Yitian stared blankly into the distance, seemingly devoid of desire.

Wen Fei hadn't expected his trip to Haifeng Mountain Villa to end like this, and a chill couldn't help but rise in his heart.
