The Young Swordsman of Dalu

Chapter 105 Haifeng Manor

Wen Fei rode swiftly northward, and on this day he arrived at Haifeng Manor in Donghai City.

Wenfei had heard from people in the martial arts world that Haifeng Manor had close ties with the imperial court and was said to control most of the economic lifeline of the Great Lu Kingdom. It was also a gathering place for heroes from all over the country, and its strength far exceeded that of Wenxian Pavilion. It was said that when Li Chaoyang retired, the old master of Haifeng Manor invited Li Chaoyang to serve the manor, but Li Chaoyang politely declined.

Haifeng Villa is built on Mingshan Mountain in the East China Sea. It faces the sea and is backed by Mingshan Mountain, standing there quietly like a palace away from the hustle and bustle. In the eyes of ordinary people in the East China Sea, it exists like a mystery.

Wenfei was also very curious about Haifeng Mountain Villa, so he decided to stay there for a few days to explore the villa.

Wenfei arrived at Haifeng Villa in the morning. He dismounted and stood in front of the villa's gate. He saw two stone lions crouching on either side of the gate, and the vermilion gate made the owner appear majestic and noble.

There were servants standing on both sides of the door. Wenfei stood in front of the door for a long time, but the two servants did not come forward to ask him anything.

"Even the servants are so arrogant," Wen Fei thought to himself.

Just as Wen Fei was about to step forward and announce his name to the servants, a large chestnut horse galloped up in front of him, with a girl in white sitting on it. Seeing Wen Fei's stunned expression, she burst into laughter.

"How can you ride a horse like that? Aren't you watching where you're going?" Wenfei scolded.

"Who told you to stand here and get in my way?" the girl in white said, pouting aggrievedly.

"Miss is back!" The servant standing at the door quickly went down the steps, took the reins of the horse, and helped the girl in white down from the horse.

"This is a young lady from your manor, yet she has no manners at all. Haifeng Manor is nothing special after all," Wen Fei said angrily.

"Where did you come from, spouting such nonsense? Do you believe I'll beat you up?" The servant raised his fist, ready to strike Wen Fei.

"Stop! Is our manor so rude?" A richly dressed man walked out of the gate.

"Second Brother! You're back!" The girl in white quickly threw herself into the man's arms and began to act coquettishly.

"Second Young Master, this man has been lurking around our manor gate for a long time. I ignored him, but he dared to slander our manor. I couldn't stand it anymore, so I had to take action," the servant argued.

"My lord, are you passing by the manor or are you here to pay a visit? Please forgive the rudeness of our servants," the man said.

"I was already angry, but I'll let it go for your sake," Wenfei said.

"I am Haihuashan of Haifeng Manor, and this is my younger sister, Hai Qingyun. May I ask your honorable name?" the man asked, bowing.

"My name is Yu Luwenfei. Greetings." Wenfei said, cupping his hands in greeting.

"So you're from the capital, brother, and from the Yu Luwen family. You must have a close relationship with the Wenwang Mansion," Hai Huashan said.

“I come from the Prince Wen’s residence,” Wen Fei said.

"Distinguished guest, we are so sorry for not welcoming you sooner! Please come in!" Haihua Mountain warmly invited Wenfei to the mountain villa.

"Second brother, he was being mean to me just now!" Hai Qingyun said, feeling wronged.

"Little sister, stop fooling around! Young Master Wen is a distinguished guest of our manor. Please come in, Young Master Wen!" Hai Huashan led Wen Fei to the main hall of the manor.

As soon as Wenfei entered the villa, he followed Hai Huashan and his sister, as if walking through a maze, turning left and right before finally arriving at the main hall. Every plant, tree, brick, and tile inside showcased the villa's luxury.

"This Haifeng Manor is no less impressive than the Imperial Palace," Wenfei thought to himself.

"Young Master Wen, please wait here for a while. I'll go and fetch my father." As Hai Huashan turned to leave, he didn't forget to pull Hai Qingyun along.

When Hai Qingyun was reluctantly pulled away by Hai Huashan, she kept staring intently at Wen Fei, and Wen Fei also stared at Hai Qingyun until she reached the corner and could no longer see her.

"Please have some tea, young master." A servant from the manor placed a cup of water on the table in front of Wen Fei.

"Thank you!" Wenfei said politely.

About half an hour later, Hai Huashan hurriedly came out from the back.

"Young Master Wen, I'm sorry to have kept you waiting! My father happens to be away from the manor today, so please allow me to show you around the manor with you," Hai Huashan said politely.

“The lord of the manor is very busy, and it is impolite of me to come here so abruptly. Young Master Hai, please don’t stand on ceremony. Thank you for your trouble,” Wen Fei said.

“I’ll take Young Master Wen to the theater at our manor. There’s a great play being performed there right now, and if we go too late, we’ll miss it,” Hai Huashan said.

"I'll trouble Young Master Hai to lead the way!" Wen Fei said.

"please!"

Wenfei followed Haihuashan through several turns in the villa before finally arriving at the theater.

The ladies, young masters, and young ladies of the manor were all here listening to the opera. Many servants were busy serving their masters tea and water, and bringing them food. A famous local opera was being performed on stage. Wenfei listened intently for a while, but couldn't understand a single word. On the other hand, all the young masters and ladies listened with great concentration.

Wen Fei couldn't listen to a word; he quickly became distracted. He saw a woman dressed like a lady in the back row leave her seat and not return for a long time. At the same time, he also saw a man not far from this woman leave his seat and not return for a long time either.

Wenfei's gossipy curiosity was immediately piqued. He gestured to Haihuashan that he needed to use the restroom, and Haihuashan offered to take him, but Wenfei refused.

Wenfei walked from the theater to the backyard, and when he reached the rockery, he heard heavy breathing.

"You rascal, be gentle! I'm too old to take this anymore," a woman's sweet voice said.

"Let's hurry! Otherwise, someone will find out," a man said breathlessly.

“I’ve had enough of this, it’s like I’m doing something wrong every time! This is the last time,” the woman said.

The man didn't speak, only his breathing could be heard clearly by Wenfei.

"Young Master Wen! You're here? I've been looking for you for quite a while." Hai Huashan appeared in front of Wen Fei.

"Young Master Hai, the manor is so big, I almost got lost," Wen Fei said awkwardly.

“Young Master Wen, I see you’re not interested in the play. Let’s go! Let’s go look at other places!” Hai Huashan said.

"Okay!" Wen Fei answered loudly on purpose, afraid that Hai Huashan would hear the man's heavy breathing.

"Wait a moment, Young Master Wen, did you hear anything?" Hai Huashan stopped and asked.

"No, Young Master Hai, please take me somewhere else to have a look!" Wen Fei didn't want to stay here any longer.

"No, I think the sound is coming from a cave in this artificial hill. Let's go check it out, just in case some wild animals get into the manor and harm innocent people." Hai Huashan turned and went into the cave.

Wenfei didn't move an inch; he just stood at the cave entrance waiting for Haihuashan.

"You are shameless!" Sure enough, Hai Huashan's angry voice came from the cave.

Hai Huashan stormed out of the cave and said to Wen Fei, "Young Master Wen, let's go!"

Wenfei followed Haihuashan away from the artificial hill. Wenfei turned his head and glanced back. He saw the man, disheveled, come out of the cave and run away like the wind, leaving the woman alone in the cave crying.
