A thousand years later, Yuanshi looked at the Kunlun Mountains, which resembled a bustling marketplace, with a furrowed brow. He felt extremely uncomfortable. Those demons he usually disregarded were now cultivating in the same place as him, which greatly displeased him.

Over the course of a thousand years, the two, Yuanshi and Tongtian, frequently disagreed due to their differing doctrines.

The original method of accepting disciples emphasized lineage, comprehension, and character. When accepting disciples, he set up a mesmerizing array. This array was called the 'Ten Thousand Demons Refining Heart Array,' and it contained hidden secrets of heaven, arranged according to the transformation of the five elements, the heavenly stems and earthly branches, and the evolution of yin and yang.

Once inside the formation, one enters a cycle of reincarnation, where birth, old age, sickness, death, greed, pride, evil, and extravagance all appear before one's eyes. Those without great wisdom and perseverance can easily become trapped and unable to extricate themselves if they are not careful.

This is also a standard for testing a disciple's character and virtue. The longer one persists within the sect, the more valued one becomes by the Primordial Lord. Over the years, many exceptionally talented individuals have emerged, among whom thirteen stand out and have all been accepted as personal disciples by the Primordial Lord.

They are Randeng Daoren, Guangchengzi, Chijingzi, Yuding Zhenren, Taiyi Zhenren, Huanglong Zhenren, Manjushri Guangfa Tianzun, Puxian Zhenren, Cihang Daoren, Lingbao Dafashi, Julusun, Daoxing Tianzun, and Qingxu Daode Zhenjun.

The two Daoist Ran Deng and the True Man Huanglong presented the most difficult challenge for Yuanshi. Ran Deng was one of the people who had listened to his lectures at Zixiao Palace and was of the same generation as him. It would be awkward for both of them to accept him as a disciple of the Chan Sect, so in the end, he was made the vice leader of the Chan Sect, who could also help manage the affairs of the sect in the future.

"Tongtian, you are naturally unruly, but I never expected you to be so reckless in even accepting disciples. I told you from the beginning not to take these birds and beasts as disciples, and look at Kunlun Mountain now, it's been turned into a complete mess by your disciples."

They have repeatedly gathered crowds to attack my disciples. If my elder brother returns and sees this, how will we explain ourselves?" Yuanshi, upon arriving at Tongtian's secluded retreat, didn't waste any words and directly rebuked him.

Upon hearing this, Tongtian's temper flared immediately. He was aware of the occasional conflicts between the two sects. In his view, the two of them shouldn't interfere in the disputes between their disciples. Now, the other party was verbally abusing him over this matter, as if it were all the fault of his Jie Sect.

"Original source, my sect was established with the approval of Heaven. The doctrine of the 'Intercepting Sect' is to seek a glimmer of hope for all living beings. After all, the two were brothers, and it was impossible for them to fight each other, but they still couldn't help but exchange a few sarcastic remarks. However, at this moment, the two sensed the aura of a sage descending upon Kunlun Mountain.

They stopped arguing and left the cave. They saw that everyone on Mount Kunlun, whether from the Chan or Jie sects, was prostrate on the ground, trembling. Upon recognizing Laozi, the two stepped forward to pay their respects.

"Brother, is this your new disciple?" Tongtian asked, noticing another person standing beside Laozi. He could tell that Laozi was displeased, so he quickly changed the subject.

Yuanshi didn't care about anything at the moment. He said to Laozi, "Brother, the disciples of the Jie Sect have too many bad habits, and they are all difficult to tame and manage. They have made a mess of our Kunlun Mountain. Please take charge, brother."

Seeing that Yuanshi was once again belittling the disciples of the Jie Sect, Tongtian was instantly enraged. Pointing at Yuanshi, he roared, "If that's the case, I'll find another place. I refuse to believe that in this vast prehistoric world, we can't find a place like Kunlun Mountain." After saying that, he snorted coldly and left without looking back, and immediately began to gather his disciples.

Seeing this, Yuanshi felt a pang of regret, after all, they were brothers for many years. His original intention was to have Tongtian dismiss those unruly individuals, keeping only those with good character. He hadn't expected the other party to be so decisive. He opened his mouth as if to say something, but his pride prevented him from speaking.

Before long, Tongtian gathered all the disciples of the Jie Sect, gave Yuanshi a cold snort, and rode away on a cloud without looking back. Laozi witnessed the whole process, but never said a word. Finally, he sighed softly and murmured to himself, "It's better that he's leaving."

Although the voice was soft, Yuanshi, being a sage, could still hear it, but didn't understand the meaning behind the other person's words. He asked疑惑地问道, "Brother? It seems you already foresaw this outcome?"

Laozi silently closed his eyes, his face filled with worry. After about an incense stick's time had passed, he looked at Yuanshi and asked, "Second brother, do you still remember the saying, 'One Way is passed down to three friends, and the two teachings, Chan and Jie, are divided'?"
