Chapter 72 The Path to Golden Core (Please add to your favorites and recommend!)

In the primordial east, the territory of the human race.

At that moment, an old man, leaning on a cane, stood before a tribe of about a hundred people. Looking at their dwelling, he saw that everyone in the tribe wore smiles and appeared peaceful, which puzzled him greatly.

That's right. This old man is Laozi, who has disguised himself to travel among humans. He doesn't want others to know that he's traveling and seeking opportunities. A hundred years have passed since he left Kunlun Mountain. During these hundred years, he has traveled to various human territories, and the scenery he has seen is just as he sees now. He is not as arrogant as other races.

In the primordial world, besides the demon race and the witch race, there are the reclusive dragon, phoenix, and qilin races. Although the attitudes of the dragon and phoenix races towards outsiders are unknown, one can glean some insight from the demon race. The demons are all unruly and will fight at the slightest provocation.

The Wu tribe, however, did not welcome other races into their territory. They considered themselves descendants of Pangu and were even more arrogant than the Three Pure Ones. While the Three Pure Ones were very proud of being the true descendants of Pangu, they would not act like the Wu tribe, who did not even worship Heaven and Earth.

His reason for coming to the human race in search of opportunities was not based solely on Bei Ming's words. Rather, he felt the need to accumulate merit to establish a clan or a religious order. As for the Three Corpses Proving the Dao? After so many years, he had long since forgotten about it.

However, establishing a religion is not an easy task, as his "Dao" belongs to the natural way. First, he excludes the Dragon and Phoenix clans. Although they have gone into seclusion and tens of thousands of years have passed since then, they have probably already paid back a lot of the karmic debts from back then, but they are still bound by karma.

As for the Lich and Demon races, a great war is likely to break out in a few thousand years. Although he can pass on his teachings, he expects to be drawn into it when the great calamity arrives, inevitably leading to another cycle of cause and effect. This is not the outcome he wants to see.

Finally, only the human race remained. Although it was unknown what was so special about the humans created by Nuwa, after a hundred years of observation, Laozi was quite satisfied with the current state of the human race. In just over a thousand years, the human race had developed its own cultivation methods, and its strength was comparable to that of the demon race.

What surprised him most was that among humans, there were three cultivation methods. In addition to the cultivation techniques for immortality and the cultivation of true immortality, many people also practiced the body-refining techniques of the Witch Clan. However, those who practiced the body-refining techniques of the Witch Clan all possessed the bloodline of the Witch Clan.

He never imagined that the proud Witch Clan could coexist peacefully with the Human Race, and that their cultivation methods were even widespread among humans. This made him even more eager to explore what made the Human Race so extraordinary.

Just then, an old man emerged from the tribe, his age similar to Laozi's. Although he was already a hundred years old, he was still quite robust due to his cultivation. Seeing that Laozi had been standing in their tribe for quite some time, the old man came out to inquire.

"May I ask where you come from, sir? And where are you headed?" The tribal elder approached Laozi, his face serene. There are thousands of human tribes; it's impossible for them to know everyone, and encountering strangers is normal.

Upon hearing the question, Laozi smiled slightly and said, "I have a deep longing for cultivating immortality, but my aptitude is limited, and I cannot find the way to enter the Holy City. Therefore, I travel through the mortal world in search of opportunities."

Laozi was aware of the matter concerning the Holy City of Humanity, where people cultivated immortal techniques. Although he didn't know why Beiming didn't popularize the methods of immortal cultivation, he still wanted to inquire about it.

Upon hearing the words "Holy City," the old man's face lit up with longing, and he bowed deeply towards the east. "Old sir, do you not know that to enter the Holy City for cultivation, one must possess the cultivation level of the Tribulation Transcending stage, or, like the three ancestors of the human race, make great contributions to the clan?"

Upon hearing this, Laozi understood that the other party also did not know why the immortal techniques had not been passed down. He then chatted with the old man for a few more minutes before continuing his journey through the human realm.

Several more years passed. Lao Tzu continued to ponder the matter of founding a religion, but he had no clue which one to choose. One day, he arrived at a place where several people were fighting, and he could tell that the systems they practiced were different.

Thinking of this, Laozi's eyes lit up, and he thought: Since I have come to the human race and wish to establish a religion, I must naturally take 'humanity' as the foundation. As for what to teach them? Naturally, it will be my own Daoist tradition.

Currently, human cultivation methods are chaotic, and there is no systematic instruction from others; people rely solely on their own insights and self-discovery. It is believed that in the future, when humans cultivate the path he has passed down, the landscape will be quite different.

So Lao Tzu stayed there for several days. He combined the three cultivation methods currently practiced by humankind with his own years of understanding of the Dao. After much summarization and synthesis, he finally created a cultivation path that had never existed before, namely the "Golden Elixir Dao".

The Golden Elixir Path states: 'It seizes the power of creation from heaven and earth, fully comprehends the numbers of Yin and Yang and the Five Elements, obtains a pure Dharma body, and achieves an indestructible god.' Therefore, the Golden Elixir Path not only cultivates magical power and increases physical physical cultivation, but also condenses the primordial spirit. With this path, all three can be cultivated simultaneously.

In the present-day primordial world, people either cultivate only the physical body like the Wu tribe, or focus on magical power while refining their primordial spirit. However, the Golden Core path allows the strength of both the physical body and primordial spirit to increase accordingly as one's cultivation level improves.

Half a month later, Laozi arrived at a place where humans gathered. He flew up and sat cross-legged on a mountaintop, saying to those below, "I am Laozi, one of the Three Pure Ones of Kunlun. I have traveled among humans for a hundred years and have observed that your cultivation methods are incomplete. Therefore, today I will pass on the 'Golden Elixir Great Dao'. Those who are destined may come and listen to my teachings."

Lao Tzu's voice wasn't loud, yet it resounded throughout the entire eastern part of the primordial world. Whether human or demon, everyone felt as if the voice was right beside them. Then, they all became incredibly excited and rushed towards the location.

Who are the Three Pure Ones? Even those in the primordial world who have never seen them have heard of them. Now that they are willing to pass on their cultivation methods to the human race, this has attracted many people with poor aptitude who have no chance to enter the Holy City to cultivate.

A day later, looking down at the throng of people below—no less than a million, including many demons, though they all seemed to be close to humans—Laozi said, "I wish to expound the Great Dao of the Golden Core; you must not make a sound." Upon hearing this, the crowd below gradually quieted down, and Laozi spoke at the opportune moment:

"The sun and moon are the immortal essence of heaven and earth, the light upon which all things depend, and the way of yin and yang. The seven returns and nine transformations, the golden elixir of immortality, are supremely divine and wondrous, supremely simple and easy. If you know them and refine them, you will attain them forever, immediately ascend to the realm of sainthood, and achieve the true Dharma body."

Knowing the male, yet keeping to the female, one becomes the valley of the world. Knowing the white, yet keeping to the black, one becomes the model for the world. Being the model for the world ensures that one's constant virtue is without error, and one returns to the boundless. Knowing glory, yet keeping to humility, one becomes the valley of the world. Being the valley of the world ensures that one's constant virtue is sufficient, and one returns to simplicity. Simplicity, when dispersed, becomes vessels; when the sage uses them, they become officials and leaders; therefore, the great system is not fragmented.

The highest ruler is known to those who are knowledgeable; the next best are those who are loved and praised. The next best are those who are feared; the next are those who are despised. If trust is insufficient, there will be distrust. He who is prudent in his words, when his work is accomplished and his affairs are fulfilled, will be remembered by the people, who will say, "We did it ourselves."
