Although Liu Shiyin was still immersed in her dream, Huo Muchen's gentle yet firm voice seemed to penetrate the barrier of the dream and enter her ears. Her brows gradually relaxed, as if she could feel Huo Muchen's protection and care, and the unease in her heart dissipated.

Huo Muchen gently picked up the ointment and carefully applied it to Liu Shiyin's wound. His gaze never left her face.

Looking at the sleeping Liu Shiyin, Huo Muchen raised his hand to check the time. It was already past two in the morning. After tucking Liu Shiyin in, Huo Muchen quietly got up and went to the bathroom to take a hot shower, which gave his tired body some relief.

When he stepped out of the bathroom, his gaze fell on Liu Shiyin again. He noticed that she didn't seem to be sleeping peacefully; her brows were slightly furrowed, as if she were experiencing something unsettling in her dream.

Without thinking much, he quietly walked to the bedside and lay down beside her. He reached out and gently pulled Liu Shiyin into his arms, letting her press close to his chest.

Huo Muchen held her quietly, and before he knew it, he too drifted off to sleep.

The first rays of morning sunlight, like a shy young girl, silently pierced through the soft curtains and spilled onto the warm bed.

Liu Shiyin slowly opened her eyes, the scene before her making her feel slightly disoriented. The large, unfamiliar room was empty and quiet, with only her lying on the bed.

She turned her head slightly, trying to find Huo Muchen's figure, but only saw emptiness. A sense of disappointment welled up in her heart, and she couldn't help but frown.

She tried hard to recall everything from last night: Huo Muchen's gentle embrace, his soft words of comfort, and the warm touch of the medicine being applied—everything was vivid in her mind. Yet, he wasn't by her side now, leaving Liu Shiyin feeling a sense of confusion and unease.

She gently lifted the covers, got out of bed barefoot, and stepped onto the soft carpet. She looked around, trying to find any trace of Huo Muchen.

Suddenly, her gaze fell on a sticky note on the bedside table. She walked over, picked it up, and saw Huo Muchen's message on it:

"I have something to do and need to go out for a bit. I'll be right back."

Upon seeing this sentence, Liu Shiyin's sense of disappointment dissipated considerably. She gently put down the note and turned to walk towards the bathroom.

After washing up, Liu Shiyin looked as fresh and elegant as a lotus emerging from the water. Just as she stepped out of the bathroom, she heard a knock on the door.

A thought crossed her mind, assuming that Huo Muchen had returned early. She quickly tidied herself up and hurried toward the door.

She opened the door expectantly, only to find a room service employee standing outside, pushing a table laden with delicious-looking food. Liu Shiyin was slightly taken aback.

The employees quickly smiled and greeted her.

"Hello, Ms. Liu. Mr. Huo specifically instructed us to deliver these dishes to you at eight o'clock. We hope you enjoy them."

She took the food and said softly, "Thank you."

The staff nodded and smiled, pushed the food into the restaurant, placed it on the tables, and then left the room.
