Chapter Thirty-Three: The Empress in the Study.

"Why did the Empress not seek out her brother, the Emperor, but instead came to me?" Princess Ruikang shared the same curiosity as Ziyan.

"Why does everyone think I should look for him?" Leng Yuling hadn't seen Mo Zhen much lately, but his name kept popping up in her head, which annoyed her. "Why should I look for him?"

Besides not wanting Mo Zhen to know why she was reading medical books, she also really didn't want to see Mo Zhen's face, which looked like the whole world owed him something.

“Because what you want, the Emperor can get it easily.” Princess Ruikang’s words were true, but Leng Yuling was still unwilling to bring them up.

Leng Yuling didn't say anything more, but that didn't mean she agreed; she just didn't want to explain.

She insisted on not bringing it up with Mo Zhen, and Princess Ruikang agreed, so she had no choice but to bring some medical books in from outside the palace. Unfortunately, she ran into Mo Zhen as soon as she stepped out of Jingling Palace.

Princess Ruikang paused, curtsied, and said softly and gently, "Ruikang greets Your Majesty, my brother the Emperor."

Mo Zhen nodded, but looked behind her and asked with a hint of curiosity, "Why are you here?" In his memory, Leng Yuling shouldn't have a good impression of Ruikang, but it was obvious that Ruikang was invited to the palace by Leng Yuling.

"Is Your Majesty asking why Ruikang came out of the Empress's palace?" Before Mozhen could answer, Ruikang continued, "If Your Majesty hadn't neglected the Empress, why would she have asked Ruikang to bring her some medical books?"

"Medical books?" Mo Zhen frowned slightly, looking at Rui Kang, as if waiting for her answer, or perhaps not waiting for anyone's answer at all, but simply thinking.

Ruikang nodded. Seeing that Mozhen still looked curious and puzzled, she spoke slightly and explained in a low voice, "The Empress is probably bored. She would rather ask me to bring her medical books than ask you, Emperor. You must know the reason better than I do."

After Ruikang finished speaking, Mo Zhen's curious face instantly darkened. As a man and a husband, he naturally did not want his wife to ask others for help rather than ask him.

However, Leng Yuling did just that now. If it were someone else, he wouldn't be unhappy, and would even feel that it would save him trouble.

However, when Leng Yuling was the one who did this, he always felt uneasy, as if something was wrong.

“Brother Emperor, Ruikang thinks the Empress is a very lovely person, more lovely than any other woman Ruikang has ever known or met.” Seeing that Mozhen did not speak, Ruikang continued, “I have said everything that should be said and shouldn’t be said, so I will go back now.”

With that, she curtsied again before leaving.

Mo Zhen narrowed his eyes. Even Rui Kang thought Leng Yuling was no ordinary woman, so how could he not see it? But...

Sometimes Leng Yuling could really drive him crazy, and he wouldn't even realize it, and would even get angry at him in return, which was just unbelievable.

Mo Zhen stood at the entrance of Jingling Palace for a long time before Ziyan inside the palace saw him. She hurriedly came out to pay her respects: "This servant greets Your Majesty."

Mo Zhen, who was still hesitating about whether to go in, knew there was no reason to turn back after seeing Zi Yan, so he asked, "Where is the Empress?"

"Your Majesty, the Empress is in the study."

Mo Zhen frowned. So he really did spend all his time locked in his study reading?
