Chapter Sixteen: I'm Still a Child

"A child?" Mo Zhen couldn't help but laugh. It seemed that Leng Yuling could always give him a different kind of surprise, and this time was no exception. Her words were enough to surprise Mo Zhen.

Leng Yuling put her hands on her hips, puffed out her chest, and said, "How can I not be a child?" Mo Zhen looked down at her chest, and Leng Yuling realized what he meant and took a step back, covering her chest with her hands, looking wary. "What are you looking at, you pervert!"

"He does look like a child," Mo Zhen said meaningfully.

Upon hearing this, Leng Yuling glared angrily at Mo Zhen, but she didn't fall for it again. Instead, she said, "Anyway, if you want to do *that*, go find your other concubines. Don't come to me. I'm not responsible for your physical needs."

She said somewhat awkwardly, "Anyway, there's absolutely no way I'd share a room with Mo Zhen, absolutely not!"

Mo Zhen naturally understood her meaning. As the emperor of a country, he would not force Leng Yuling, but that did not mean that Leng Yuling's words did not displease him.

Mo Zhen looked at Leng Yuling and approached her step by step. Leng Yuling retreated warily, and for every step she took back, Mo Zhen took a step forward.

As Leng Yuling retreated to the edge of the bed, bracing herself against it with her hands, she looked at Mo Zhen and subconsciously swallowed hard: "Mo Zhen, you...you are the emperor, are you going to force a weak woman?"

Mo Zhen merely curled the corners of his lips, leaned down to look at Leng Yuling, and asked in return, "What do you think?"

"Of course I think you wouldn't, after all, it's not in line with your noble status." As she spoke, Leng Yuling gently patted the dust off Mo Zhen's shoulder, her face full of flattery.

After all, she was a weak woman, and her opponent was the emperor. So, she couldn't win against him in terms of either strength or status and power, and this was the only way she could resort to.

As clever as Mo Zhen was, how could he not understand her meaning? However, he quite enjoyed Leng Yuling's show of weakness. Compared to Leng Yuling who was like a hedgehog, he preferred this gentle Leng Yuling.

Mo Zhen unconsciously grasped Leng Yuling's hand, which was resting on his, and held it tightly in his palm, quietly watching Leng Yuling.

The next moment, Leng Yuling pulled her hand away from Mo Zhen's grasp and said with a look of disgust, "You'd better not hold me anymore. Men and women shouldn't touch each other."

Mo Zhen, who was in a good mood, changed his entire demeanor after hearing Leng Yuling's words. He straightened up, looked down at Leng Yuling, and said coldly, "You are more likable when you don't speak."

Leng Yuling pointed to herself, looking completely bewildered.

Watching Mo Zhen turn and walk outside, Leng Yuling felt somewhat confused and muttered under her breath, "This is really inexplicable."

Leng Yuling thought Mo Zhen was about to leave, but she saw him just sitting on the soft couch in the outer room. She didn't hear him speak for a long time, nor did she see him leave.

After a long while, when Leng Yuling felt hungry, she went to the outer room, walked straight to the table, and casually picked up a piece of pastry and put it into her mouth without any regard for her image.

After eating two pieces, she poured herself a glass of water, sat down on the stool, and glanced at Mo Zhen, who was reading a book without even looking up.

Leng Yuling really understood Mo Zhen less and less. When she thought he was angry, he didn't seem angry at all. Sometimes she thought he shouldn't be angry, but he was definitely angry.

This man is so strange.
