Beast Taming Star Journey
Chapter 413 Crisis Resolved, New Look Emerges
Chapter 413
The voice behind me startled me. I turned around abruptly and saw the strategist, Jinbo, walking slowly towards me with a solemn expression. "The Heart of Light?" I repeated the name, my doubts deepening.
“That’s right,” Strategist Jinbo walked to my side and examined the stone in my hand carefully. “This Heart of Light is a sacred object of our unexpected ally, possessing the power to subdue the Dark Specters. But as you can see, there is only one, and its light is limited.” His gaze swept over the surging specters in the distance, his brow furrowed. “It seems we underestimated the scale of this Dark Invasion.”
The beast tamer's face grew even paler, and he muttered to himself, "What... what should we do?"
I held the Heart of Light tightly in my hand, feeling the warm glow it radiated. Though faint, this light gave me a glimmer of hope. I knew we couldn't give up; we had to find a way.
“Strategist Jinbo,” I asked in a deep voice, “do you know how to replicate or amplify the power of the Heart of Light?”
The strategist shook his head. “The Heart of Light is a sacred object of our unexpected allies, and we know very little about the source of its power and how to use it.” He paused, then continued, “However, according to the legends of our unexpected allies, the power of the Heart of Light can be activated to release an even more powerful light.”
"How do we stimulate it?" I asked eagerly.
The strategist shook his head again. "Legend has it that only those with pure hearts can unleash the power of the Heart of Light, but we don't know exactly how to do it."
A pure heart? A thought suddenly struck me, and I thought of my tamed beasts. They have a pact of equality with me, and their hearts are connected. Perhaps they can help me awaken the power of my heart of light!
Thinking of this, I immediately told Su Yao and the Beast Tamer Jin Yi about my idea. Su Yao's eyes lit up, and she said excitedly, "Yu, this might be a solution! Let's give it a try!"
Although the Beast Tamer of Metal and Iridium was still somewhat hesitant, at this point, he had no choice but to try anything.
I took a deep breath, focused my mind, and transmitted my thoughts to my beasts. I told them that we needed their power, that we needed them to join me in igniting the power of the Heart of Light!
My tamed beasts sensed my will and responded to my call. They gathered around me, channeling their power into me.
I felt a powerful force surge into my body, and the Heart of Light in my hand began to emit an even brighter light. This light grew stronger and stronger, eventually forming a massive pillar of light that shot straight into the sky!
The beam of light enveloped us all, and also the dark phantoms surging from afar. Bathed in the light, the dark phantoms let out mournful howls, their bodies beginning to dissipate.
Upon seeing this, both the Iridium Beast Tamer and the Platinum Strategist showed expressions of shock. The Gold Youth jumped up excitedly and cheered loudly.
I felt a wave of weakness, but my heart was filled with joy. I knew we had succeeded! We had found a way to subdue the Dark Specter!
Just then, the thallium warrior walked up to me. He looked at me intently, then said in a deep voice, "You are very special..."
The Heart of Light pulsed in my hand, its warm light dispelling the surrounding chill. I felt a wave of weakness wash over me, almost causing me to stumble. Su Yao swiftly caught me. She jumped up excitedly, wrapped her arms around my neck, and whispered in my ear, "Yu, you're a genius." Her warm breath brushed against my earlobe, sending a tingling sensation through me. I managed a weak smile; this sudden intimacy left me somewhat bewildered, especially in the presence of the Beastmaster and the others.
The Beastmaster's complex gaze swept back and forth between Su Yao and me before settling on the Heart of Light in my hand. A flicker of greed flashed in his eyes, which he quickly concealed. "This... is truly unbelievable," he coughed lightly, "It seems we really are saved this time." His voice trembled slightly, as if he were suppressing some kind of excitement.
I sensed something was off about him, and a vague unease rose within me. Sure enough, his next words confirmed my suspicions. "Since the Heart of Light is so effective," he rubbed his hands together, his gaze fixed intently on me, "why don't we seize this opportunity and launch a preemptive strike, wiping out these dark spirits in one fell swoop!"
I was stunned, and the strategist, Jinbo, also frowned. "Jinyi Beastmaster, what do you mean by this?" Jinbo asked in a deep voice, "We still know too little about the Dark Specters. If we attack rashly, we may suffer more losses than gains."
"What's there to be afraid of?" The Beastmaster waved his hand impatiently. "Now that we have the Heart of Light, these Dark Specters are nothing to fear! As long as we attack them when they are weak, we can obtain a lot of spoils, and even..." He paused, a hint of fanaticism flashing in his eyes, "...we might even find the Dark Specters' lair!"
The young man with the metal complexion seemed to be infected by the words of the beast tamer with the iridium complexion, his eyes sparkling with excitement. But he quickly calmed down, glanced at the strategist with the platinum complexion beside him, then looked at me, and said nothing.
"Iridium Beastmaster, you're being too impulsive!" Mercury Envoy couldn't help but say. "Our cooperation with our unexpected ally has only just begun. Your unauthorized actions will damage the trust between us!"
The Beastmaster of Metal and Iridium scoffed, "Trust? Hmph, who knows if they genuinely want to help us? Maybe they just want to use us as cannon fodder!" He pointed to the gradually dissipating dark phantoms in the distance, "Now is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. If we miss this chance, who knows when the next one will come!"
I looked at the Beastmaster and knew he was blinded by greed and wouldn't listen to any advice. Su Yao also sensed the tense atmosphere; she gripped my hand and gave me an encouraging look. Taking a deep breath, I knew I had to step in and stop him.
“Iridium Beastmaster,” I said in a deep voice, “I know you crave power and the chance to achieve great things, but…” I paused, my gaze sweeping over everyone present, “we are now a unit, our goal is to jointly resist the invasion of the dark phantoms, not to fight each other for personal gain.”
The Beastmaster with Metal and Iridium chuckled disdainfully. "Common interests? Hmph, that sounds nice..."
I met his gaze and said, word by word, "Have you forgotten how the Dark Specters cornered us? If it weren't for the unexpected appearance of our ally, we would be..."
"Shut up!" The Iridium Beastmaster interrupted me angrily, pointing at me with a trembling finger. "What right do you, a mere brat, have to lecture me!" He abruptly turned to the Thallium Warrior, his voice pleading. "Thallium Warrior, please say something! We..." Before he could finish, he was cut off by the Thallium Warrior's icy gaze.
The Thallium Warrior slowly walked up to me, his tall figure casting a shadow that enveloped me. He reached out and gently patted my shoulder, saying in a deep voice, "Young man, you're right." He turned to look at the Iridium Beastmaster, his tone carrying a hint of authority, "Iridium, our cooperation with humans has only just begun. Your reckless actions will destroy the trust we've worked so hard to build."
The Iridium Beastmaster was stunned; he seemed surprised that the Thallium Warrior would side with me. He opened his mouth, wanting to object, but dared not disobey the Thallium Warrior's orders.
I pressed my advantage, continuing, "Beastmaster of Metal and Iridium, I know you're worried about the reliability of our unexpected allies, but please believe me, they genuinely want to help us. Think about it, without them, would we still be standing here?"
I looked around, pointed at the gradually dissipating dark phantoms, and said in a heavy tone, "The power of these dark phantoms far exceeds our imagination. We alone cannot withstand their invasion. Only by uniting can we defeat them!"
My words carried weight, and everyone present fell into deep thought. The Beastmaster of the Metal-Iridium Sect lowered his head, his expression shifting between light and shadow. I knew that my words had planted a seed in his heart—a seed of unity and cooperation.
After a long silence, the Beastmaster finally raised his head. He took a deep breath and slowly said, "I...I was wrong." His voice was a little hoarse, with a hint of regret. "I shouldn't have been blinded by greed and almost ruined our cooperation with our unexpected ally."
He walked up to me, extended his hand, and solemnly said, "Nong Yu, thank you. You have made me understand the importance of unity."
I grasped his hand and said firmly, "Beastmaster, we are one. Only by working together can we defeat the Dark Specters and protect our home!"
My words ignited the fighting spirit of everyone present, and they all expressed their willingness to fight alongside me to resist the invasion of the dark phantom.
Jinbo, the strategist, walked up to me, patted me on the shoulder, and said with satisfaction, "Nongyu, you did a great job. You successfully resolved this crisis."
I smiled and said, "This is not just my achievement; it is the result of our collective efforts."
With everyone working together, we launched another attack. This time, our attack was more ferocious and more effective. The light emanating from the Heart of Light illuminated the entire battlefield, dispelling the gloom brought by the Dark Specters.
Under the illumination of the Heart of Light, the dark phantoms let out mournful screams as their bodies gradually dissipated and eventually vanished into nothingness.
We all breathed a sigh of relief as the dark phantoms gradually dissipated. The crisis was finally over.
However, just when we thought it was all over, a strange light suddenly appeared on the ground... "What is that?" Su Yao pointed to the center of the light, her tone filled with doubt.
