Beast Taming Star Journey

Chapter 411 The Victory and the Turmoil Continue

Chapter 411

The colossal beast crashed to the ground, and before the dust had even settled, cheers erupted through the sky. I felt a wave of exhaustion, but more than anything, I felt a profound sense of relief at surviving such a close call. Su Yao clung tightly to me; I could feel her trembling—a mixture of excitement and lingering fear.

The Iridium Beastmaster gripped my hand excitedly, repeatedly expressing his gratitude, his eyes gleaming with the light of someone who had survived a calamity. The Platinum Strategist, the Gold Youth, the Mercury Envoy, and even the usually taciturn Thallium Warrior all expressed their respect to me. I was enveloped by this sudden praise, and an indescribable feeling welled up inside me.

However, the joy of victory did not last long. A strange energy fluctuation, like ripples, spread from the edge of the battlefield, instantly shattering the celebratory atmosphere. This fluctuation was unfamiliar and powerful, carrying a chilling sense of oppression.

I looked at Su Yao; her delicate brows were furrowed, and her eyes were filled with doubt. At the same time, the thallium warrior's expression changed drastically, and he said in a deep voice, "Not good! Something's coming!"

The crowd stirred immediately. Those who had just been basking in the joy of victory now wore expressions of terror. I took a deep breath, suppressing my unease. Now was not the time to panic. As a key player in this battle, I had to step forward and stabilize the situation.

"Quiet down, everyone!" My voice, amplified by the power of my beast taming, carried clearly throughout the battlefield. "Don't panic, stay alert!"

Perhaps because of the prestige I had gained from defeating the behemoth, my words were surprisingly effective. The crowd gradually quieted down, and their fearful eyes slowly turned into anticipation; they were all waiting for my next instructions.

I looked around and calmly gave the orders: “Iridium Beastmaster, you lead everyone to organize a defensive formation. Platinum Strategist, you are responsible for calming the people and preventing panic from spreading. Gold Youth, you go and assist the Mercury Envoy to ensure smooth communication.”

My instructions were brief and forceful, and everyone immediately sprang into action, gradually restoring order to the previously chaotic scene. Standing before them, I felt the weight of responsibility on my shoulders, and an unprecedented sense of determination rose within me.

The strange energy fluctuations grew stronger, and a tense atmosphere filled the air. I clenched my fists, my eyes warily fixed on the source of the energy fluctuations.

"Prepare for battle!" I commanded in a deep voice.

Everyone stood ready, the atmosphere so tense you could hear a pin drop. Just then, a voice broke the silence.

“Yu…” Su Yao nestled beside me, gently stroking my arm, her eyes filled with affection, “Now…”

Su Yao nestled beside me, gently stroking my arm, her eyes filled with affection. "Yu," she said, "you're like a true king now." My heart warmed, and I returned her hand, grasping her soft one. Her words flowed like a gentle stream through my weary heart, bringing solace. I smiled and said, "Not at all, I just did my best." Though I said this, a sense of pride welled up within me. Perhaps I was gradually growing into a true strongman, one capable of protecting those around me and safeguarding this land.

However, this warm moment was quickly shattered. The Beast Tamer with a grim face walked over, pointing to a trembling beast beside him, his tone filled with obvious anger: "My beast has gone out of control! It must be your doing!" He glared at the Platinum Strategist, his eyes filled with hostility.

I frowned and quickly went to check on it. The beast was trembling all over, its eyes unfocused, as if it had been greatly frightened. I tried to soothe it with my beast-taming power, but it became even more agitated, letting out low growls.

“This…” I looked at the strategist Jinbo, hoping he could provide an explanation.

The strategist, Jinbo, also looked grim. He said in a deep voice, "Beast Tamer Jinyi, please calm down. We haven't done anything that would affect the beast taming."

"No? Then why did my beast suddenly go out of control? It's usually very docile and never acts like this!" The beast tamer's emotions grew increasingly agitated, and his voice rose considerably. "You must have used some special methods on the battlefield that affected my beast!"

"Watch your words!" Jinbo's tone hardened. "We are your allies, fighting against the behemoths together. How could we do such a thing?"

"Allies? Hmph!" The Beast Tamer sneered. "Who knows if you're really allies? Maybe you've already planned to attack us while we're fighting the behemoths!"

"That's utter nonsense!" Jinbo's strategist roared. "We paid a heavy price to achieve this victory, and you dare to slander us like this!"

The atmosphere between the two was tense, and it looked like a conflict was about to erupt. I quickly stepped forward to mediate: "Gentlemen, please calm down. Now is not the time for infighting."

“Nong Yu, don’t try to persuade him!” The Beast Tamer of Jin Yi pointed at the Strategist of Jin Bo. “My beast has been seriously injured, and someone must be held responsible! I demand compensation!”

"Compensation?" Jinbo strategist sneered. "How ridiculous! We are the victims! If your beast taming hadn't gone out of control, we wouldn't have lost so many warriors!"

"You..." The Beast Tamer was furious and was about to rush forward to attack.

I quickly stepped in front of him and said in a deep voice, "Beast Tamer, please calm down! The most important thing now is to find out the truth, not to blame each other!"

However, my words had no effect. The Iridium Beastmaster shoved me aside, pointed at the Platinum Strategist, and roared, "If you don't give me an explanation today, I'm not done with you!"

Just as the two sides were locked in a stalemate, the strange energy fluctuations suddenly intensified, and everyone sensed an imminent, immense threat. The thallium warrior's expression changed drastically; he abruptly raised his head, looked into the distance, and said, word by word, "It...is coming..."

Su Yao's hand trembled slightly, and I felt her grip on mine tighten. That strange energy fluctuation, like waves crashing against the ocean, assaulted my senses, filling me with a nameless fear. The argument between the Metal-Iridium Beast Tamer and the Metal-Platinum Strategist abruptly ceased; both froze, their faces showing terror.

The gold-plated youth hid behind the mercury-plated messenger, his face pale and his lips trembling as he asked, "What...what is that?"

The Mercury Messenger tried to remain calm, but the beads of sweat on his forehead betrayed his nervousness: "I...I don't know..." His voice trembled, and his eyes were filled with unease.

The thallium warrior gripped his weapon tightly, his face grave. He said, word by word, "It...is here..."

"It? What is it?" I couldn't help but ask, my voice a little hoarse.

The thallium warrior didn't answer me, only staring intently into the distance, his body tense, as if ready for battle at any moment. The energy fluctuations grew stronger, and a suffocating sense of oppression filled the air. The surrounding trees began to shake violently, and the ground trembled slightly.

"Everyone be careful!" I shouted, shielding Su Yao behind me while cautiously observing our surroundings.

The iridium tamer no longer had time to argue with the platinum strategist; he quickly recalled his tamed beast and protected it behind him.

The strategist's face also turned extremely ugly. He gripped the scepter tightly in his hand, his eyes filled with fear.

Suddenly, a piercing shriek came from afar, followed by a dark shadow falling from the sky and crashing heavily to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

I squinted, trying to make out the true form of the dark figure. When the dust settled, I finally saw its appearance. It was a gigantic black monster, larger than any of the beasts we had encountered before. Its body was covered in black scales, shimmering with a metallic sheen. Its head was ferocious and terrifying, and its two blood-red eyes emitted a chilling light.

"What kind of monster is this?" the Beast Tamer of Metal and Iridium cried out in terror.

“I don’t know…” the strategist’s voice trembled, “I’ve never seen such a monster before…”

The black monster let out a deafening roar and then charged towards us.

"Get out of the way!" I shouted, pulling Su Yao aside.

The others also tried to dodge, but the black monster was too fast and rushed in front of us in an instant.

I quickly summoned my tamed beast and engaged in a fierce battle with the black monster. Su Yao also drew her longsword and joined the fight.

The Iridium Beastmaster and his beast joined the battle, but their attacks seemed to have little effect on the black monster.

The thallium warrior, weapon in hand, confronted the black monster. Although his attacks could inflict some damage on the monster, they could not stop its advance.

"This can't go on!" I shouted anxiously as I dodged the black monster's attacks. "We have to find a way to stop it!"

Just then, I noticed that the strange energy fluctuation had intensified again, and it seemed to be emanating from the black monster.

My heart was moved. Could it be...

"Everyone be careful!" I shouted. "The energy fluctuations emanating from this monster are intensifying!"

As soon as I finished speaking, the black monster suddenly let out a shrill scream, and then its body began to tremble violently.

Immediately afterwards, streaks of black light emanated from its body, drifting in the air like ghosts.

"What is that?" Su Yao asked in horror.

I shook my head, indicating that I didn't know either.

The black lights grew more numerous and denser, eventually converging to form a massive black vortex.

The black vortex spun slowly, emanating a chilling aura.

A strong sense of unease rose within me, a feeling that something terrible was about to happen.

"Back off!" I shouted, pulling Su Yao back quickly.

The others also retreated, moving away from the black vortex.

Just then, the black vortex suddenly unleashed a powerful suction force, drawing everything around it in.

"what--"

Screams rang out, and I saw the gold-plated youth and the mercury messenger being sucked into the black vortex and disappear.

My heart sank suddenly and an ominous premonition came over me.

"Su Yao, be careful!" I pulled Su Yao behind me and stared warily at the black vortex.

The black vortex continued to spin, emitting an increasingly powerful suction force.

I felt my body being uncontrollably sucked into the black vortex.

"No..." I gritted my teeth and desperately resisted the suction.

Suddenly, a hand grabbed my shoulder.

I turned around and saw that it was a thallium warrior.

"Hold on!" the thallium warrior said in a deep voice, "I will pull you out!"

However, no sooner had he finished speaking than the suction of the black vortex suddenly intensified, pulling him and me in together...
