Beast Taming Star Journey
Chapter 409 Turning the Tide and Displaying Might
Chapter 409
"Oh no! It's going to self-destruct!" My expression changed drastically. The black aura surging from the giant beast grew increasingly intense, like a volcano about to erupt. The sheer power of this energy fluctuation terrified me.
"Retreat!" I roared, channeling all my spiritual power into my beast in an attempt to withstand the devastating blow.
However, it was all in vain. The behemoth's body suddenly expanded, and black energy surged out like a tidal wave, instantly engulfing us.
I felt a violent tremor, a flash of white light, and a deafening explosion.
When I regained consciousness, I found myself lying in a huge crater, my whole body aching, and the surroundings a mess.
"Cough cough..." I struggled to get up and found that Su Yao, Strategist Jin Bo, and others were also lying on the ground, their fates unknown.
"Su Yao!" Ignoring my own injuries, I rushed to Su Yao's side and checked her breathing. Thankfully, she was still breathing.
I breathed a sigh of relief and quickly fed her a healing pill.
"Nong Yu..." Su Yao slowly opened her eyes and called out weakly.
"Are you alright?" I asked with concern.
"I'm fine..." Su Yao shook her head and struggled to stand up.
"Don't move, you're injured." I quickly helped her up.
Just then, I suddenly sensed a powerful aura approaching.
I looked up and saw a tall figure descend from the sky and land in front of us.
The newcomer was none other than the thallium warrior. His armor was shattered, and his face was covered in dust, but his eyes remained sharp.
"It's good that you're all alright," the thallium warrior said in a deep voice. "I never expected that this behemoth would self-destruct. It was truly unexpected."
"Thanks to you for arriving in time," I said gratefully.
“This is not the time to talk about this,” the thallium warrior interrupted me. “We must leave here as soon as possible; it is no longer safe.”
I nodded and helped Su Yao to her feet.
"How are the others?" I asked.
“They are all injured, but not in life-threatening condition,” the thallium warrior said. “I have already sent people to take care of them.”
"That's good." I breathed a sigh of relief.
We followed the thallium warriors and struggled out of the pit.
"Look!" the golden-haired boy exclaimed, pointing to the distant sky.
I looked in the direction he was pointing and saw dazzling rays of light appearing in the sky.
“That is…” A thought suddenly struck me, and a strange feeling welled up inside me.
Through a special pact, my tamed beasts and I are connected at heart. I sense their fear and unease, and also the burning desire for battle deep within their hearts. A strange energy surges from within me, flowing towards my tamed beasts. Their bodies begin to glow, the light growing ever brighter until it merges into a dazzling pillar of light that shoots straight into the sky.
"This is... a combination technique?" the Metal-Iridium Beast Tamer murmured in disbelief.
I clenched my fists, feeling the surging power within me. "Charge!" I roared...
"Wait!" the strategist suddenly spoke up, "Have you all sensed anything...?"
I felt the power within me surge like a raging river, roaring to break free of its restraints. My tamed beasts were of one mind with me; their eyes gleamed with the same light, yearning for battle, yearning for victory. Just as I was about to order a charge, I was interrupted by the strategist, Jinbo.
His expression was solemn, his brows furrowed, and he pointed to the distant sky, saying, "Have you all felt... this energy fluctuation?"
I looked in the direction he was pointing, and behind the dazzling light, something even more terrifying seemed to be hidden. It was a suffocating sense of oppression, like the calm before a storm, sending chills down my spine.
"What is it?" the Beast Tamer asked nervously, instinctively gripping his weapon tighter.
The strategist, Jinbo, didn't answer. He closed his eyes, seemingly sensing something. After a moment, he suddenly opened his eyes, his face turning extremely grim. "It's...it's an even more powerful beast! Much more powerful than the one that self-destructed just now!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the light in the sky suddenly became even more dazzling, so bright that people couldn't open their eyes. Immediately afterward, a deafening roar resounded throughout the heavens and earth, as if it would tear the entire world apart.
"Not good!" the thallium warrior roared. "Prepare for battle!"
Su Yao's eyes burned with a fierce flame, her cheeks flushed, and she excitedly shouted, "Nong Yu, my hero!" She waved her hands in the air, cheering me on. I felt her burning gaze, and my heart was filled with strength.
However, at this moment, the mercury envoy and the platinum strategist had a dispute.
"We should retreat immediately! This behemoth is too powerful; we are no match for it!" the Mercury Messenger shouted, his voice filled with fear.
"No! We cannot retreat! If we retreat, this city will be finished!" Jinbo strategist retorted, his tone firm and resolute.
“But…” The mercury envoy was about to say something, but was interrupted by the platinum strategist.
"No buts! We must fight! For this city, for our people!"
The argument between the two grew increasingly heated, affecting the morale of the entire team. I frowned, my heart filled with anxiety. Now was not the time for infighting; we must unite to confront the formidable enemy before us.
"Enough!" I shouted, stopping their argument. "This is not the time to argue; we must figure out how to deal with this beast!"
I took a deep breath, forcing myself to calm down. I looked around, searching for any advantage I could exploit. My gaze fell on the behemoth, and suddenly, I noticed a detail. On the behemoth's belly, there was an area that shimmered with a faint light.
“There…” I pointed to the beast’s belly, a thought suddenly striking me, “That’s its weak point!”
However, to exploit this weakness, one must penetrate the behemoth's formidable defensive barrier. This barrier, like an impregnable city wall, firmly protects the behemoth within.
I clenched my fists, a silent resolve forming in my heart. No matter what, I would find a way to break through this barrier!
I looked at Su Yao; her eyes were full of trust and expectation. I took a deep breath and said in a low voice, "Su Yao, cover me!"
Su Yao nodded without hesitation. The longsword in her hand emitted a crisp ring, and a powerful sword aura soared into the sky… I felt my tamed beasts also stirring, a strange power flowing between us. I whispered, “Ready?” Their response was a deafening roar…
"Are you ready?" My voice was almost inaudible in the wind, but I knew my companions sensed my resolute will. The response was a deafening roar, the scraping of claws against the ground, and the whirlwind whipped up by flapping wings. Like me, they yearned for battle, for victory, and even more so, for the protection of the land behind us.
Su Yao's figure moved like lightning, darting back and forth around the giant beast. Her longsword flashed with dazzling light, like blooming lotus flowers, constantly battering the beast's defensive barriers. Each impact produced a deafening roar, causing the entire earth to tremble.
"Its barrier is too strong!" Su Yao's voice came from afar, tinged with anxiety. "My attacks simply can't break through it!"
I took a deep breath and pushed the power within me to its limit. I could feel the connection between me and my beasts growing stronger; a strange energy flowed between us, as if merging us into one.
"Cover me! I need to get close to it!" I shouted to Su Yao, while simultaneously fixing my gaze on the area on the giant beast's belly that was shimmering with a faint light. That was its weak point!
I pushed off with my feet, and my body shot out like an arrow. My tamed beasts followed closely behind, like streaks of black lightning, weaving across the battlefield and clearing a path for me to reach the giant beasts.
The Iridium Beastmasters and Thallium Warriors also joined the battle. Although they remained suspicious of us "unexpected allies," they chose to fight side by side when facing a common enemy. The Iridium Beastmasters' attacks were fierce and precise, each strike aimed at the behemoth's vitals; the Thallium Warriors, like an insurmountable mountain, firmly blocked the behemoth's attacks, buying us precious time.
The beast's roar grew louder and louder. It seemed to sense our intentions, and its massive body began to struggle violently, trying to break free from Su Yao's grasp. Its defensive barrier also became more solid, like an iron wall, firmly keeping us outside.
I kept dodging the giant beast's attacks while searching for an opportunity to break through the barrier. Sweat soaked my clothes, and my breathing became rapid, but I did not give up. My eyes were fixed on that weak point that shimmered with a faint light.
Suddenly, I saw a slight fluctuation in the giant beast's defensive barrier—it was caused by Su Yao's attack! Although the fluctuation was very weak, it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me!
"Now!" I shouted in my heart, concentrating all my strength on one point, and then I charged towards the giant beast's weak point!
My tamed beasts roared deafeningly, their power merging with mine to form a powerful shockwave that slammed into the giant beast's defensive barrier.
With a crisp "crack!", a crack appeared on the giant beast's defensive barrier!
A surge of joy filled me, and I increased the output of my power once more. The crack grew larger and longer, until finally, with a deafening roar, the barrier shattered!
I saw the area on the belly of the giant beast that was shimmering with a faint light; it was right in front of me, within reach!
I raised my weapon high, ready to deliver the fatal blow to the behemoth.
However, at that moment, the behemoth seemed to sense danger... It slowly raised its head, its eyes flashing with an eerie light... "You..." it uttered in a low voice, like a whisper from hell...
